Yes, very interesting. Besides "Dragon Age -Veilguard", the game also reminds me of "The Dragon Prince" animated series - especially the comic scenes. I feel like "Rayla" could make an entrance any second. Thank you for the First-Look, Welonz :)
That style has gotten pretty overused. We need more variety like the epic and colourful style of comic books, or something that emulates the sword and sorcery films of the 80s. There's a lot of ways to go about it.
My favorite mapmaking story from history is that after Captain Bligh and the men loyal to him were left in a boat by the mutineers on the Bounty, Bligh continued with the charting part of his mission. In his little boat he charted a good chunk of the Australian coast, and his charts were so accurate they weren't replaced until the late 20th century and I think it was the invention of laser rangefinders.
I think Point is sort of a scout and not necessarily the leader. Oria just happens to be Point and leader too. Could be wrong, but that was my impression. This went completely under my radar, so it was really cool to get a look at it. It definitely seems like a world I want to know more about.
Glad to see you doing this one. I agree that the combat is mushy and needs some work to make it easier to use, especially earlier in the game when it becomes clear you have a true disadvantage against all the things that could harm you. I also believe the magic hurting you regardless of whether you created it or not is a cautionary tale, that there are powers that can be used but not all that comes with that power may be beneficial. Exploration is important, you need to look around a lot or you'll miss important opportunities for special resources you'll need for crafting better weapons and armor. Also, other features will open up as you progress through the game such as being able to sleep in your tent so you can do night time or day time exploration. Both are different and will different resources in some cases. I have not even come close to finishing the game, but the lore, storytelling character building are all very well done. I am waiting for a patch that I am hoping will optimize the combat a little better. Especially for someone like me that is older and has some disabilities. I hope to see you do more of these for this game. Ultimately, it is your decision but I believe this is one of the better games that has come out recently for those of us that love the lore, storytelling and character building of it. Best to you either way.
You will get better about withstanding the elements the longer you play, still never the best idea to just stand in any magic though. While you can easily see this is more like an AA game, the combat gets a lot more varied later, the story and writing are pretty good and its quite beautiful. I also enjoyed the different cutscenes ("anime" and 3D). Its a pretty cool game that doesnt reinvent the wheel, also not too long, just perfect for my taste. I just finished it yesterday in about 32 hours. While I didnt pick up alll the lore, I did all the quests. Good job for their first game. Enjoy your playthrough! Edit: Its worth dropping the more basic resources to pick up higher ones instead (green, blue, etc.). You will be able to make your backpack bigger later. Its more about choosing the right resources to take though. In a way its like an extraction shooter. You decide when you picked up enough resources to take back/when you did enough of the quests for your "run" (expedition).
11:35 - "Coral"? No, I recognise Tiberium when I see it... 41:34 - Well, I'm sure you'll make some good points too, Dahm. 53:37 - Hey, if there's no "monk" class in this game, then Reformed Monk rules don't apply...
This game looks infinitely more enjoyable, better written, more thoughtful and more fun than Veilguard despite what I assume is a lower budget and a lower production value. It speaks to the importance of the creative individuals in charge of a game.
oh i just began playing this game! liking it so far. Great video! this game reminded me of another game you could check out called " the eternal cylinder", really great game that reminds me of spore (in appearance only).
I like the overall style, I've read complaints that the game feels "cheap" because the conversations and cutscenes don't keep up with the intro but I think it fits
Brynn definitely looks a lot like Cait, I already thought that from a promo screenshot but it's even more apparent when in her 2D form for the dialogues. Her whole face has similar features to Cait. The game looks cool, the mix of 3D gameplay and 2D visual novel dialogues works well and didn't expect it had that much world building and character interactions. The way they make you connect with each character and the world so quickly and smoothly was impressive tbh. Makes me want to play it really :P
I can't say I find the characters, their design or the world building very appealing. Had expected better from ex-Bioware. But it has some potential. Edit: Take for instance the amount of superlatives and compliments when Laem is chatting about the whole team. It's so unnatural. It's so much like they want to tell you how amazing those characters are and how amazing I must find them. But I don't. Also the weird language like how a point's gear needs to be kept competitive. With that Drake? It's about survival. Not running a competition. It's really weird how dismissive it is of danger.
I like the team work aspect, I certainly don't need another set of characters hissing at each other like prissy cats. I just wish they wouldn't talk like characters in a kid's show. Too upbeat, too saccharine. I like the voice acting in Ghosts of New Eden better, where they balanced the team aspect with a more adult presentation.
Thanks for checking this out! I love it so far. Kinda Breath of the Wild meets Dragon Age, and I'm here for it. Might have to pick it up myself too.
0:53 Welonz got PTSD flashbacks.
HMMMHHM?!??!?! 😂
This looks really interesting thanks Welonz

15:05 yes! I was trying to think of who she reminded me of
I like the art style here. It's a nice change from the usual ultra-realism or grimdark of many fantasy games these days.
That style has gotten pretty overused.

I'm hoping Welonz has interest in playing Avowed. I'm really excited about it, but I can't afford to upgrade my PC for it.
I think I'm interested in a first look at least!
Interesting, I've been waiting for a new strand-type game
game looking good, new welonz gameplay is always welcome

Story didn't grab me, but was still relaxing to listen to my favourite ASMR youtuber! 🍉

I am super into to story and the voice acting, the game play I agree with you. P

Interesting direction, looks quite good despite being yet another action-RPG.
I wouldn't mind if you finished this after the Roottrees, though 😊

This game is so cool and not terribly long ;D

Very interesting
i think the ice magic is for isolating enemies more like
I tried to play this game, but it kept crashing with UE5 errors
