I found this video because I just found out today the sad news. I ordered my set in April ‘22 and received them in May ‘23! They were hit hard by covid and I told them I understood the back log and long wait. I’m sorry for those who paid and did not receive their gear. I wish I could post a photo of my pads for you. I have been very happy with how they perform; modern performance with that awesome retro look.
I just found out today when I wanted to order some stuff. I’m so sad and hope that they make a comeback sometime soon. Now with John Brown retiring and Kenesky closing it’s a sad time in history with these two historic companies that changed the game for so many goalies.
One thing I forgot to mention in my review - Kenesky was making pads for PGS Hockey, which at the time made me wonder if they were spreading themselves too thin. With the closure of Kenesky, I went to check on PGS's website, and sure enough, no more pads for sale.
Would love to share the number of goalies that have been ripped off of hard earned money and no equipment built. My order goes back to September 2022. As well as attending Kenesky's shop for sizing of a PP1 chest protector that was paid in full. Unit never built and closure of operation with no refund. Myself and many others face the same extortion.
I'm sorry to hear it, that's a lot of money at stake. I've heard that from more than one person when it comes to the chest protectors - incredibly long wait times, and now with the announced closure, absolutely no mention of doing right by the people who have waited months if not years. I don't know why the discrepancy between chesties and the rest of their equipment; I waited 42 weeks, but that's a drop in the bucket for most chestie orders that I've heard about. I do think they got away from Pops' model of only taking on as much work as you can handle, and it seems like it could be shame or embarrassment on their part that translated to them not responding to emails and calls from now-frustrated customers. All in all, it's a sad situation, and I'm crossing my fingers that you'll get either your money back, or Kenesky will honor the orders in the queue before they turn the lights out.
@@ReviewyCA In no way shape or form does Kenesky have any intentions of refunding anyone's money. As well as finishing outstanding orders. Not going to happen. Watching your video in the beginning of being in the same showroom way back in September 2022 triggered a sick feeling in my stomach. Fast forward to now and all the previous frustrating dealings with a party that is holding your money. Feeling robbed is an understatement for sure!
I get it, and your frustration and anger is totally understandable. I don't have any connection to Kenesky, other than as a one-time customer; but seeing as how they turned off comments on their Instagram post about the closure, feel free to vent here (maybe they'll see it, but I wouldn't hold my breath)
