I think I saw somewhere that Old man Stegmaier himself said they only want to do a trilogy of games and have no plans to any more Span games outside of expansions.
Honestly this looks like its gonna be a flop. Visually it is not as stunning and most people already own the original game and/or the wyrmspan. I feel like it could have been as an april's fools joke. The iconography is simply ugly. And the egg/baby token also looks like it's a prototype. Its just not good looking, and I was open to wanting it because i like games about wildlife and learning about it, but it's not a looker and it doesn't seems like it proposes a good twist
I have been on the fence on Wingspan for a couple of years now, when I saw this, there was no question that this is the entry to the "span universe" for me. I love fish and the ocean; birds are okay, but not for me. I do agree with some of the critiques of this namely the eggs/young design. It hurt seeing that they actually had good looking tokens and passed up on them in yesterday's video. The main issue that I have with a lot of the criticism, though, is that most of it is easily solved for. MeepleSource or etsy will be loaded with upgrades for components. A lot of things like personal goals or depleting actions can be easily homebrewed, etc. I
“How can we keep milking Wingspan?” Dragons were kind of a cool idea but fish is a little weird. However I have a friend that is that said she’s excited for it so it will sell copies for sure.

I wonder if there will be a Mammal-span, Amphibian-span, or Reptile-span in the works. Don’t get me started on invertebrates, plants, or fungi.

I think the BEST IS wyrmspan, 2°wingspan ,and finspan the last 🤢
Have you already played Finspan or are you making stuff up?
