I feel like Deadmau5 is a better producer, but Kaskade is pickier about what he likes so his final product is perfect, and those traits are on a similar level so it works. I bet Joel has made twice as many songs, but everything Kaskade finishes is releasable
@@brandonrote2485 Steve Duda has said many times that dm is happy as long as the song gets 80% there in terms of what he heard in his head and that his hidden talent is getting there and being able to just let go and release
I feel like if Deadmau5 didn't get to do the most amazing thing in the world for a living and didn't have everything his heart desires, he'd have shot up a local mall or something and wouldn't exist. He's so angry for a person that has his life.
maybe. I do think he's overly cynical and sarcastic with people. but I can relate in seeing how the world you dreamed of that motivated you turns out to be rather vapid, fake and downright unfair. I think his attitude reflects what he's seen in the music scene having "made it"
What the hell, shoot up a mall? What is wrong with you lol. He's just a bitter and introverted person...jeez. Joel basically got trapped in a career making music he doesn't take seriously for a scene he probably doesn't respect that much. Just because it was the only way to pay his rent back when he was starting music. There's an old biography that says this somewhere.
All he needs is a proper sleep schedule and to lay off the constant coffee and cigarettes and (probably) weekly drinking. It's mental health issues, it's so obvious. The lack of a proper sleep schedule alone will give you mental health problems. I guarantee you've never felt true depression before, because anyone who has knows having "everything you need in life" doesn't cure mental health problems. But sometimes a simple life change can, like *getting enough damn sleep every night*. Try being a night owl and switching from an afternoon shift you worked for years to an 8 AM shift so you lose sleep 5 days a week. See how that effects your happiness, see how easily triggered you get and how angry and bitter you'll seem.
@@edjefferson9175 Not. You really think skrillex is entirely self produced? No just you. He out experiencing the world while everyone's at home tryina figure him out.
I've never heard your average listener go: Yeah this is a great song but it'd be better if it were all analog. Just saying. You could make sounds out of your own voice even though you can't sing and if it's good people will listen to it. Has absolutely nothing to do with gear whatsoever. At all.
It’s cause he can see all the weird flaws, unfair things, and just downright kinda pointless stereotypes and societal standards in the music industry. It’s such a competitive place to be in, and people will do anything to get on top. He can see that, and there’s reasons why he, and others (including me) are frankly pretty dang annoyed with it.
@@varunaX You're even right about that. He often speaks coldly, b*tchily, cynically, despises almost everything and everyone in the industry and makes no secret of the fact that he has made a lot of money and has therefore now "become" independent and free. And that is precisely what makes him so interesting and likeable to those who are sensitive to this kind of self-expression. He simply doesn't give a sh*t whether he generates more customers, whether there is more hype about him or his person or whether you like what he says, he simply speaks freely because - through his financial independence and successful sales - he has gained the legitimacy to be allowed to be what few or no one dares to be. [And] That's what makes him actually unique. ‼‼‼ This is appreciated, not only by his fans (who eat everything he "does" anyway), but also by those who just can't/are not allowed to speak so freely, for reasons of their own reputation or career. It's a shame, actually. There are more artists who wanted to get off the hook and f*ck up with the structures in which they are trapped (partly by contract, community constraints etc. ) The music industry and its external perception is illusory and manipulative. Everything may glitter in front of the stage and on the stage, but behind the stage it is an ice-cold business with the feelings and behaviours of the artist, as well as the consumers of the products of the entertainment industry. The whole interview he was boiling it down to see if Kaskade got ghost produced like Adam k n Soha

I love when the host thanks them both for the interview and the shot zooms out, you can see a very enthusiastic Joel blankly staring into the void :P
