I think ML hero entrances is exaggerated, like they put more drama into it to make it look good, while Wild Rift is just simple and shorter entrance that'll not make you annoyed, which is good.

Wild rift animations are just better because they aren’t too flashy and that long of an animation. It gets to the point and has a reason for the animation according to the lore or the champions personality

Animation wise both are really good and you can tell it's done by professionals. But obviosuly they're done differently. ML's approach is more flashy and expressive with a long time frame while WR leans to a more simpler, shorter and moves that portray a single goal. I prefer WR.
tbh ML gives me 2010 vibes, the effects are here but not flashy flashy, whereas in WR the effects are flashy but scarce so you can focus on them, it's much more tasteful
Played ML for 4 years (2015-2019) before switching to WR. Everything has been stated in the other comments about why WR is better (Design, originality, gameplay, etc). But at least from my own perspective, ML is a good place to start when you first play mobile moba. It's simpler, much easier to play, and much faster. It's no surprise why people still prefer ML over WR, especially in Indonesia/PH. It's almost like a perfect game for those kind of demography. WR on the other hand, is a bit tricky to play, and it's quite tiring if you're casuals. Ain't no way it's suitable for ID/PH/similar countries. The only thing I dislike the most about ML is the skin price. It's 100% scam. Some skins may cost 50-200 USD and the effect aren't that much better from 10 USD WR skins.

Without defending moonton, some characters like wukong, zhao yun-like design (xin zhao), and knight with a sword (garen) was pretty understandable because you can't do much about their design. I see it like many rpgs having same design for warrior, archer, mage, etc. Too bad this developer choose to copy every characters

ML is a Chinese game, so the heroes' voice lines are probably originally Chinese, and translated for English. That's why voice lines in ML are so unnatural or doesn't make sense
ML is better for me when it comes to gameplay because it captures the essence of mobile gaming: casualness. Mobile players are casual at heart. If you want heavy grind, then go switch to PC. I like the games in ML more because they're more fast paced, chaotic (which is pretty nice tbh), and the map is smaller, therefore allowing for a quicker game. If you genuinely want a long game, then play league on pc. When it comes to graphics, lore, and design though, I think it's very obvious already to which one is better.
Fair enough. But a league experience that takes waay less time is desired also. There's different levels to it. It's only like 15 mins a game, so it's not like it's that long. I have a love hate relationship with ML. I like the gameplay and all but the look of it, the blatant copying, and the monetization just puts me off. Wild rift is fair and the graphics/design is really good. I literally just play pokemon unite for a casual mobile experience at this point lmao

Movement speed, animation speed, attack speed, skills cd speed, laning speed, buying items on the move (no recalling needed), smaller map, team fights happen often (in higher elo often in the very 1st minute or lvl 1 when enemy invade). Although some occasions when you meet similarly matched opponents match can drag on to 20 and even to the 30 minute mark (though very intense from start to finish with constant team fights and a single mistake can cost you the match in late game), there's no comparison between the two games in terms of speed and game time. That's why I couldn't play wr after playing ml for so long, it felt too slow and boring in wr.
I play both ML and WR and i think heroes in WR are more interesting and more diverse as to Ml where it's all cookie cutters of anime waifus and zaddies 🙄 no difference in facial features and stereotypical definitions of a heroic background really nakes me wish that Moonton actually cares about their character development and not just the skill set of their heroes(the skill set aren't even that breath-taking they're just redundant at this point 💀)
They could somewhat advocate for heroes with generic theme in their game ( Succubus, Demon, Knight, Mermaid, Dragon, Minotaur, Gunners, Archer, Ninja ) but heroes oddly similar to champs with very specific theme and even color palette like... Death artist with a gun playing violin. Winter kid with a pet. Fencer with flower petals. Nietzsche's quote on champ with pet similar to Kindred's wolf. Small purple mage. That heavy cross over the line.
ML was my first MOBA back then it was only ML and it Just bore me to death. The game was too simple even for 12 year old me. I would download the game, play it for one Day, get bored of it and delete it, after 4 months reinstall it, continue the cycle. It went like this until 2020 where I decided to give LOL a try and it made me realise that I missjudged the MOBA genre because ML sucks at being a good MOBA. It was one of the most popular games on app store so I tought it was one of the Best MOBA's out there. I was super wrong as you can guess. I am an exprienced ML player and yes I did continue the cycle of deleting it and then reinstalling it until WR released and I even played the big update it got after WR released and realised that most new features were taken from WR and the game was still Boring as ever and deleted it. I have been playing WR since then and guess what! I havent felt bored at all. We all know that WR is the better game here.

Former ML player here. yeah Kinda agree on the commenters lolwr just has better animation, not over the top, simple yet effective, straight to the point, not flashy and more importantly the character designs are more better.
Tbh its hard to find a unique design nowadays everyone copies each other from different games. Were not in the early 2010s were theres only a couple of games for each genre. It simply saves money for the game company and easier to make new players to play a new game when its recognizable coz its similar to others.
Wild Rift champion line: short, bold, fit to the character. Mobile Legends hero line: a whole paragraph of "ME ME ME, I, MYSELF, YES ME" with weird wording.

Riot have more original works form abilities, design and lore which is hard to come up with nowadays even to them. to be fair they started with recognizable designs like Nasus(Anubis), Renekton(Sobek) and Azir(Horus),Rammus, King Rammus(bowser). skin lines like Starguardian(Sailor moon etc.), Odyssey(Guardians of the galaxy, Borderlands), Battle Academia(BNHA), little red Annie etc. Just to name a few that are pop culture references & easter eggs really, that is different from straight up ripping off- one step behind tactic of Moneyton. To me these are the biggest flaws: reusing abilities/kits, long matchmaking(less longer in wr), some bad lore/lore changes, over sexualizing champs from topless to skimpy(not lately: Bel'veth and Nilah). They also ADMITTEDLY announce that they'll compete on other game genres: existing ones like Valorant(Overwatch, CSGO), LOR(Hearthstone), Hextech mayhem, Ruined king; WIP games: project A, F, and L Valorant mobile. In the end its all about money but imo they care about their craft, their community more than any video game devs. While on the other hand Moonton was my first MOBA but they add too little effort. Sure, they stepped up their game by continuing plagiarizing MORE to this day simply because WR exist from settings, backgrounds, heroes skills, base model/skins that are too many ofc, stealing concepts(Hanzo from Karma concept, monetizing emblems),MV & Cinematic( 515 unite theme👌, Paquito). I prefer their cringy meme ads even though I stopped watching any ml content just to stop those ads from appearing; In-app purchases are way too overpriced for its quality, the worst gacha ever, other pay to win elements, the list goes on. To sum it up: less effort, more gain for themselves they just got lucky to have a head start at the mobile MOBA market. Good thing I didn't spend that much on ml so it was easy for me to quit. EDIT: Transformers, Star Wars and KOF skinlines are a bit cringy but it ain't so bad. Theres only a few of them tho, its prolly cuz of plagiarism & licensing(who would've thought?!) and those have more effort put in to it.
I'd like to add that while back in the day when league was first starting out they had skins that were just recolors, but they stopped when they had the money and resources to make better skins. MLBB still releases a recolor skin with every new champion and locks all their decent skins behind a gacha paywall and most of they highest priced skin that you can just straight buy with money don't even have a VO.

Every masterpiece has it flaws. Like how long matchmaking is because of how popular mid lane and baron lane is. And how we underestimate jungle because junglers do all the hard work. How limited the game itself still is which narrow down the playerbase and made role matching even longer.
I've literally never played Mobile Legends and never plan to but nearly all of Leagues characters are archetypes that have existed way before LoL. Veigar is based of Black Mages from FF dating about 35 years ago, Ashe is basically "Drow Ranger" from Dota, Malphites a rock giant - literally the titans in Greek mythology, Garen is just a guy in armour - the style of which matches Warcraft most closely, the character next to Morgana is a succubus, Shyvanna is....a dragon, the character next to Tristana is barely compariable. I know Mobile legends is basically taking its queues from LoL mechanically - but very few of LoL's character designs are anything original.

They ruined YSS' design by removing his hat and facial hair. They also made his 1st skill effects duller. In terms of their highest quality, both games are on par. Though, Moontoon is way too lazy to update other hero models. But, what sets WR apart is the liveliness of the characters. Just look at Jinx of example. Only a few ML characters has that lively look in their eyes. Furthermore, the background art is alot of immersive. It really sets their place in the universe.
League of Legends may be first and Wild Rift its mobile version. But... Mobile Legends has a more entertaining game feature. has collaborations with skin from other companies. It allows me to meet colleagues and rivals even with real photos. and has some unique champions like Eudora and Johnson

The zoom-in and zoom-out effects on MLBB kinda freak and so pointless (2:13 or also 2:38) so much background tilting that makes the motion so weird and so unnatural.. Either their champion animation cannot fully captured on player's screen (4:09) In other way, Wild Rift zoom-in and zoom-out so on point and are not overdoing it. The background environment tilting is so smooth and looks so epic.
LOL character design and move looks generic compared to ML. ML seems has more creativity in designing their character design and personality, out of the box. For 3D modelling engine, LOL looks better. But in term of character design, ML range is wider than LOL. The characters in ML feels come from so many backgrounds and places, each one having their own special and unique abilities, and it's shown from their personality in the way they move and talk, and also when showcasing themself in the hero selection.
Just the same, LoL has everything worked out better. Especially when it comes to the game's lore... And the characters in the ML are stolen not only from LoL, but also from other MOBA games.

I was once amused when I was scrolling through UA-cam shorts and came across someone's stream. I just looked at the champion’s skills, noted that this was Pantheon and was sure that this was Wild Rift in front of me. Then I saw the cheap graphics, and everything fell into place... Animation wise both are really good and you can tell it's done by professionals. But obviosuly they're done differently. ML's approach is more flashy and expressive with a long time frame while WR leans to a more simpler, shorter and moves that portray a single goal.
I prefer WR.
i feel like wildrift isnt pressured too hard to be flashy because its working off people being already vaguely familiar with the characters.
tbh ML gives me 2010 vibes, the effects are here but not flashy flashy, whereas in WR the effects are flashy but scarce so you can focus on them, it's much more tasteful

Played ML for 4 years (2015-2019) before switching to WR.
Everything has been stated in the other comments about why WR is better (Design, originality, gameplay, etc). But at least from my own perspective, ML is a good place to start when you first play mobile moba. It's simpler, much easier to play, and much faster. It's no surprise why people still prefer ML over WR, especially in Indonesia/PH. It's almost like a perfect game for those kind of demography. WR on the other hand, is a bit tricky to play, and it's quite tiring if you're casuals. Ain't no way it's suitable for ID/PH/similar countries.
The only thing I dislike the most about ML is the skin price. It's 100% scam. Some skins may cost 50-200 USD and the effect aren't that much better from 10 USD WR skins.

Without defending moonton, some characters like wukong, zhao yun-like design (xin zhao), and knight with a sword (garen) was pretty understandable because you can't do much about their design. ML is better for me when it comes to gameplay because it captures the essence of mobile gaming: casualness. Mobile players are casual at heart. If you want heavy grind, then go switch to PC. I like the games in ML more because they're more fast paced, chaotic (which is pretty nice tbh), and the map is smaller, therefore allowing for a quicker game. If you genuinely want a long game, then play league on pc.
When it comes to graphics, lore, and design though, I think it's very obvious already to which one is better.
Fair enough. But a league experience that takes waay less time is desired also. There's different levels to it. It's only like 15 mins a game, so it's not like it's that long. I have a love hate relationship with ML. I like the gameplay and all but the look of it, the blatant copying, and the monetization just puts me off. Wild rift is fair and the graphics/design is really good. I literally just play pokemon unite for a casual mobile experience at this point lmao

Movement speed, animation speed, attack speed, skills cd speed, laning speed, buying items on the move (no recalling needed), smaller map, team fights happen often (in higher elo often in the very 1st minute or lvl 1 when enemy invade). Although some occasions when you meet similarly matched opponents match can drag on to 20 and even to the 30 minute mark (though very intense from start to finish with constant team fights and a single mistake can cost you the match in late game), there's no comparison between the two games in terms of speed and game time. That's why I couldn't play wr after playing ml for so long, it felt too slow and boring in wr.
I play both ML and WR and i think heroes in WR are more interesting and more diverse as to Ml where it's all cookie cutters of anime waifus and zaddies 🙄 no difference in facial features and stereotypical definitions of a heroic background really nakes me wish that Moonton actually cares about their character development and not just the skill set of their heroes(the skill set aren't even that breath-taking they're just redundant at this point 💀)

They could somewhat advocate for heroes with generic theme in their game ( Succubus, Demon, Knight, Mermaid, Dragon, Minotaur, Gunners, Archer, Ninja ) but heroes oddly similar to champs with very specific theme and even color palette like... Death artist with a gun playing violin. Winter kid with a pet. Fencer with flower petals. Nietzsche's quote on champ with pet similar to Kindred's wolf. Small purple mage. That heavy cross over the line.

ML was my first MOBA back then it was only ML and it Just bore me to death. The game was too simple even for 12 year old me. I would download the game, play it for one Day, get bored of it and delete it, after 4 months reinstall it, continue the cycle. It went like this until 2020 where I decided to give LOL a try and it made me realise that I missjudged the MOBA genre because ML sucks at being a good MOBA. It was one of the most popular games on app store so I tought it was one of the Best MOBA's out there. I was super wrong as you can guess. I am an exprienced ML player and yes I did continue the cycle of deleting it and then reinstalling it until WR released and I even played the big update it got after WR released and realised that most new features were taken from WR and the game was still Boring as ever and deleted it. I have been playing WR since then and guess what! I havent felt bored at all. We all know that WR is the better game here.

Riot have more original works form abilities, design and lore which is hard to come up with nowadays even to them. to be fair they started with recognizable designs like Nasus(Anubis), Renekton(Sobek) and Azir(Horus),Rammus, King Rammus(bowser). skin lines like Starguardian(Sailor moon etc.), Odyssey(Guardians of the galaxy, Borderlands), Battle Academia(BNHA), little red Annie etc. Just to name a few that are pop culture references & easter eggs really, that is different from straight up ripping off- one step behind tactic of Moneyton. To me these are the biggest flaws: reusing abilities/kits, long matchmaking(less longer in wr), some bad lore/lore changes, over sexualizing champs from topless to skimpy(not lately: Bel'veth and Nilah). They also ADMITTEDLY announce that they'll compete on other game genres: existing ones like Valorant(Overwatch, CSGO), LOR(Hearthstone), Hextech mayhem, Ruined king; WIP games: project A, F, and L Valorant mobile. In the end its all about money but imo they care about their craft, their community more than any video game devs.
While on the other hand Moonton was my first MOBA but they add too little effort. Sure, they stepped up their game by continuing plagiarizing MORE to this day simply because WR exist from settings, backgrounds, heroes skills, base model/skins that are too many ofc, stealing concepts(Hanzo from Karma concept, monetizing emblems),MV & Cinematic( 515 unite theme👌, Paquito). I prefer their cringy meme ads even though I stopped watching any ml content just to stop those ads from appearing; In-app purchases are way too overpriced for its quality, the worst gacha ever, other pay to win elements, the list goes on. To sum it up: less effort, more gain for themselves they just got lucky to have a head start at the mobile MOBA market. Good thing I didn't spend that much on ml so it was easy for me to quit.
EDIT: Transformers, Star Wars and KOF skinlines are a bit cringy but it ain't so bad. Theres only a few of them tho, its prolly cuz of plagiarism & licensing(who would've thought?!) and those have more effort put in to it.

I'd like to add that while back in the day when league was first starting out they had skins that were just recolors, but they stopped when they had the money and resources to make better skins.
MLBB still releases a recolor skin with every new champion and locks all their decent skins behind a gacha paywall and most of they highest priced skin that you can just straight buy with money don't even have a VO.
Rn all I see is people blindly hating on mobile legends but both games have a lot of effort in to them the devs did some great work on the effects on the models and the voice actors on both sides did great

I've literally never played Mobile Legends and never plan to but nearly all of Leagues characters are archetypes that have existed way before LoL. Veigar is based of Black Mages from FF dating about 35 years ago, Ashe is basically "Drow Ranger" from Dota, Malphites a rock giant - literally the titans in Greek mythology, Garen is just a guy in armour - the style of which matches Warcraft most closely, the character next to Morgana is a succubus, Shyvanna is....a dragon, the character next to Tristana is barely compariable. I know Mobile legends is basically taking its queues from LoL mechanically - but very few of LoL's character designs are anything original.

In terms of their highest quality, both games are on par. Though, Moontoon is way too lazy to update other hero models.
But, what sets WR apart is the liveliness of the characters. Just look at Jinx of example. Only a few ML characters has that lively look in their eyes.
Furthermore, the background art is alot of immersive. It really sets their place in the universe.
Mobile legends designs is like that plastic version of a toy that you get because youre too poor to get a highquality version.

One thing dont like about ML is that the devs loves to pair up the most random characters and the community eats it up, no matter how illogical or straight up illegal the pairings are (probably because of values dissonance)

The zoom-in and zoom-out effects on MLBB kinda freak and so pointless (2:13 or also 2:38) so much background tilting that makes the motion so weird and so unnatural.. Either their champion animation cannot fully captured on player's screen (4:09)
In other way, Wild Rift zoom-in and zoom-out so on point and are not overdoing it.
The background environment tilting is so smooth and looks so epic.
LOL character design and move looks generic compared to ML. ML seems has more creativity in designing their character design and personality, out of the box.
For 3D modelling engine, LOL looks better. But in term of character design, ML range is wider than LOL. The characters in ML feels come from so many backgrounds and places, each one having their own special and unique abilities, and it's shown from their personality in the way they move and talk, and also when showcasing themself in the hero selection.
Just the same, LoL has everything worked out better. Especially when it comes to the game's lore...
And the characters in the ML are stolen not only from LoL, but also from other MOBA games.

I was once amused when I was scrolling through UA-cam shorts and came across someone's stream. I just looked at the champion’s skills, noted that this was Pantheon and was sure that this was Wild Rift in front of me. Then I saw the cheap graphics, and everything fell into place... I despise Mobile Legends plagiarism :)
in mlbb you start strategizing when you are mythic glory, before that you just press buttons and let the damage burst do its job just like irelia in wr. The only thing you have to do better or faster is farming and buy items

Some people in the comment didn't know that LOL has a PC version which came out like more than 11 years ago.. and Wild Rift is just a version make for mobile player.. and the hero in PC version are too many so they add one at a time to wild rift.. also in mobile version skin are more cheaper than PC..
