- On 19th Jan'23 Prime Minister of India has inaugurated 2nd Phase of Mumbai Metro 2A. We travelled by Mumbai Metro Line 1 from Ghatkopar to DN Nagar and then in Metro Line 2 A from Andheri (West) to Lower Malad Metro station which is beside Inorbit Mall, Malad. The journey was fabulous. Please watch the video to know the full details.

They could have called the 2A station also as DN Nagar instead of Andheri. And named Lower Malad as Mindspace or Inorbit itself.
Line 1 from Ghatkopar to Versova goes through Andheri Station only, why then change over at D. N Nagar?
Mindspace Malad Name is known in US and UK also due to IT OR Investment Banking Companies Like ATOS , JP, MS

While Modiji & BJP are doing everything to bring convenience for the common people, the entrenched communist/urban naxal babus who were mainly hired during 60years of Congress goondaraj through chamchaagiri are doing everting tricks under their sleeve to make it harder for the common Hindus to take benefits from the 2014 Govt. by confusing different names for the same station on the two lines, or shutting down main roads under the pretext of Modi's visit. All lines need to be connected so would not have to get down & change the train.
Sir you should have completed your journey still further. Inorbit Mall is known as LOWER MALAD. Then what is Dmart metro station called. And then the next one.

Agar Metro 1 itna bheed hai toh clearly Line 2A aur Line 7 bhi utna bheed hoga future mein.
usse bhi jyada bheed hoga
Line 1 is east-west linkage, so it is fairly crowded all day. Pink line 6 would be similar.
Lines 2A and 7 on the other hand are north-south lines. So you'll see more crowd in the morning traveling towards Andheri and in the evening traveling towards Dahisar, while the opposite side would be less crowded

So you had to buy a ticket again from D N Nagar to Malad? That's inconvenient... And we don't even understand the station names lower Malad , Malad, pahadi goregaon.. i live near oshiwara.. i don't know whether to get down at Oshiwara or lower oshiwara.. very confusing for public...

Yes Ghatkopar to WEH on line 1 and agar change karna hai toh Line 7 Gundavali station jaana hoga
Ghatkopar to Dadar 20 minutes
Dadar to Malad 30 minutes

It's very very hard to board the train after 6:00 PM in Dadar. In Metro it will never be so crowded and other positive points are also there. However there is some gaps interchanging from Line 1 to Line 2A which will be filled quickly I believe.

Take Metro line 1 get down at 7th stop Western Express highway. Through skywalk to Gundavali take the metro which is going to Andheri (West). Get down at Devipada station which is 2.9 KM away.

@Sarbani Sanchay True cheaper... From my place Tollygunge Metro till Dakshineshwar Metro 19 stations In-between takes approx 48 mins ticket price is Rs 25. As I use metro card so a little discount I get.

All these metro projects were started before Modi rule. Modi has just inaugurated 2nd phase of line 2a & 7.
I have researched a bit in internet. I found out the actual push has been given in the year 2016 when Fadnavis was there.
All projrct under modi rule except 1st phase inaugurated by Atal Bhiari Vajpayee and rest by narendra modi ..if u have doubt u can clear ur doubt through RTI

Metro 2A will be a loss-making venture for sure because of its proximity to Western railway!!
I don't think so because more and more people are using Metro now a days. However there are some connectivity issue right now.
@SarbaniSanchay Yes, a larger number of people are using metro, but we also can't overlook the huge losses made by the versova metro either. Future metro lines have to be built keeping in mind its close proximity to railway stations as people tend to still opt for local trains instead of metros.. Hence, the new routes have to be chosen more cleverly..
All metro lines in India are running large losses every year.
Dont worry yellow and red line will be extended so lots of passengers will increase also their natural increase with time so dont worry to much
