This, for me, is perhaps the greatest soul song to listen to while on a long drive home in your car. Great tune, great, great cadence. Boy did this song usher me home from Western Carolina during Thanksgiving, 1972, to my hometown 7 hours away. Along with Me and Ms. Jones, Keeper of the Castle and Pretty Lady, you made the long drive home an utter joy. God bless you all!
I am getting ready to go to my dialysis treatment and this song has made me feel alive. WHAT A VOICE. I shall daydream about MR. AL WISON singing to ME and not my pain. GOD BLESS YOU
Al Wilson may only have had one hit song with " Show and tell "... But this recording is my favorite soul performance ever recorded ...I'm a huge fan and student of this era and style of music ... So I don't make that comment lightly .He was an incredible talent and his voice was a thing of beauty .Truly a heroic vocalist for other aspiring singers too .Notice how authentic and believable his vocal is in this timeless masterfully recorded gem ... It cuts straight to the heart and brings tears to your eyes if your a true music lover . . RIP smooth Al ...

@@tracyfrazier7440 Hi Tracy, I always loved this beautiful song. I have a feeling Harri knows it but it would still be a worthwhile reaction for sure. - Brooklyn Mike
Like you said the last rift or the music went higher Al Wilson voice accompanyied it beautifully. Al Wilson sang in the choir in the Navy and was known a s a perfect gentleman. As a southern white male to hear him and Sly Stone at an early age was a pleasure to rememmber.
This song was first recorded by Johnny Mathis in 1972 but it was a bigger hit the year later by Al Wilson. He also had an R&B hit with "The Snake" in 1968. Other songs he did were "Do What You Gotta Do" "Lodi", "Poor Side Of Town", "The La La Peace Song", "I've Got A Feeling, We'll Be Seeing Each Other Again" & "Count The Days".
Both my parents say AL was my godfather. Apparently, he used to use my father's studio back in the day. I'm 43 I was only around him as a baby. Thanks for showcasing him. Check out "The Snake" if you haven't. It's my favorite song of his.
When I was in film school, one of the many things I learned about film production was that keeping the film in sync with the audio is difficult when lots of splices are done. Today, with digital editing, it is much easier.
Harri B, here are two more great tunes that go well with the Al Wilson song: 1) The Chi-Lites - Oh Girl 2) Sonny Charles And The Checkmates - Black Pearl. Enjoy!
Striking gold my friend, going all the way back to 1974 reaching no 1.What beautiful orchestration, catchy lyrics. What great backup singers, their timing is impeccable which is very important when it comes to harmony. What can we say about Al's voice, note the feeling, the control, the way hit that head note and then went down to his natural voice. What a song ,a gem.Speaking of sophisticated 70's soul,I am recommending three 70's songs which you can do reaction videos to; 5 10 15 20 25 30 years of love by The Presidents ,They Took Th Show On The Road by The Fantastic Four and Sad Sweet Dreamer by The Sweet Sensation.I look forward to your reaction videos on these songs ASAP,you will not be disappointed.
I thought I remember this song earlier in my childhood than 1976 so I checked and it's 1973, I was 7. This doesn't seen genuine live because it's so "perfect" and there are no strings on stage with him, but there was an orchestration on the original version I heard on the radio, complete with the fade out, it might be a very good synch as you say.
Again, back when R&B and soul music had real melodies, lyrics and phenomenal singers.

Al Wilson was a great talent who's voice set him apart from his peers.

Hard to believe he only had the one Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit (#1). He did have a top 10 hit and several top 40 hits on the US R&B chart.
All other hit...."I got a feeling we' re be seeing each other again ..
That voice is smoooooooooth as silk!

When I first heard this back in the day I thought it might be Lou Rawls! Great song.
Fantastic Song.Sl Wilson got it right with "Show and Tell."Beautiful.
Everything about this was great! Way to go, Harri & Michael.
Great song
Here's Fun Facts: Al Wilson wasn't the first artist to sing that song. It was Johnny Mathis from 1973. Al Wilson sung it year later.
You have to check out Al's song "The Snake". It's a great story telling song.
Fantastic

They were probably lip syncing. That’s why it sounds exactly like the radio version.
@@LaPotraBellaca I think the video is from a real live performance but, for some reason, they substituted the record for the audio.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
BTW, great road song.
Will someone turn up the AC for Al Green? Give that guy a break! Wonderful performance anyway!
👏👏👏
