Lovely! At 4.45 a 5 set of Autoballasters. Judging from the condition they look like a set from the original conversions. I was project manager for their development and manufacture at RFS for Tiphook and later GE and signed the original contract with Railtrack. Great project, fabulous wagon. Literally a silk purse made out of a sows ear. Spent many a night dropping ballast on WCML upgrade and even more sat in a Heavy Haul 66 all bloody night doing nothing! Now I just run a couple of sets of them in OO😄
Nope. On closer inspection I think they are the JQAs, so the second lot. Same difference though. The original Railtrack blue stripe still in evidence despite the rust.
