- This mini-series will walk you through the steps to create a modern interior rendering in KeyShot. New episodes will upload weekly. This episode, we begin with applying materials to the chair, which will be the focal point of the interior.

amazing detailed tutorials keep doing, thank you
That node tip at 19:20 is going to save me so much time omg. Thank you!
Your invoice is in the mail! lol
Again, an amazing tuto ! Super usefull, quick, clear... perfect ! Thanks a lot :D
You're welcome!
Thank you so much
Thank you so much for this 🙌 You da best !
No problem 😊
very helpful, awesome tutorial! keep doing that thanks a lot!!!
Thanks, will do!
Thank you so much for this tutorial 😊
My pleasure 😊
Amazing tutorial! You are a guru for me :D
Wow, thanks!
so helpful, thanks will gibbons
Great!
Node tip is priceless. This is going to save me so much time in the future. Thanks!
Oh, that's awesome to hear!
So much good info here, very helpful. I'm really interested in what you mentioned about best practices for modeling so that the uv maps stay in tact for keyshot. Would love to see more on that!
Great!
Wow, thanks a lot!
You're welcome!
map 2D is useful!!!!! Much appreciation for your tutorial!!!!!
Glad you think so!
this ruled. cant wait until next week.
Cheers!
Very good 👍👌👍👍👍👍👍👍 ty dude 👍
You're welcome!
very hepful thank you ver much
You're welcome!
thanks for your tutorial
You are welcome
@@WillGibbons the modell get crushed and broken in black fragments sometimes in keyshot, do you know whats wrong with it? i got it 2 times!
love u bro ♥
Great!
Nice sir 👌👍🔥
Thanks
I tried a lot to make the 2D mapping tool and never got it work. Now I see what I was missing, Thanks! Good tutorial
Glad it helped! Yeah, it's not that intuitive, I'll say.
Your tutorials are awesome! Please explain uv unwrap, I really strugle with that
Thanks. I encourage you to search around on UA-cam for other tutorials, but eventually, I will.
Plywood sides... I will try to thicken on Solidworks, but I'd be great to have a tutorial for that too :D It really helped the mappind 2D!! thank you
Great!
thank you! You are solving a lot of my problems.
I use fusion also. Please tell more tips about how to produce a good model for keyshot, especially to wood.
thanks!
Good suggestion! Glad to hear that. Thanks, Thiago.
@@WillGibbons Nice! Can't wait! Congratulations on your channel!!
Nice video!! I think it would be awesome if you could show the final render image at the end of the video
Thanks, I'll try to remember to do it in the future. My final rendering looked exactly like the image you see in the end of the video.
Another great video. one thing i have not seen you demonstrate is a more realistic work flow scenario where you have to, say, output 5 renderings with 3 different model sets (of similar models) with different staging and lighting. I find this kind of workflow complications with linking properties and managing mappings of materials where i struggle more than adjusting materials. If you could show how you stay organized in these kinds of situations, that would be super helpful and something people don't talk about since it's a little less 'sexy' maybe
Also, I find colour to number interface is always tricky to understand. Couldn't it be more like a photoshop curve adjustment UI element? I can never wrap my head around TO this, from that...at least the preview helps.
Anyways, good stuff
Noted, thanks for taking time to explain specifically what you're referring to. I'm working on an upcoming course that'll probably incorporate all of this.
♥️
😀
So Good! Could you please do a Tutorial about Animation in keyshot?
Thanks man, it's on the list! Cheers,
Anyone knows what 3D software made the model? I noticed the welding part. I mostly use Creo and it is difficult to do that.
I modeled it in Fusion 360.
How is your material separate in two differents parts? The face and the side of the plywood?
Because when I imported the model, the surface on the edge of the wood was a different color. KeyShot separates different colors on the model at time of import.
Hi does anyone know how at 22:15 it follows the contours. Cause even after changing the angle up to 90 it doesn’t flow along the edges properly. Greatly appreciate any help.
And your mapping mode is set to UV? That's odd.
I actually did UV unwrap the seatpan and viewed the results side by side. I can confirm that UV unwrapping made no perceptible difference. And I'm quite particular.
This may be due to how the surface was modeled. Sometimes the ideal UVs are created in the CAD surface. But often times you will find this isn't the case. That's when UV unwrap is needed.
have can you have a texture map apply to the diffuse channel but then apply an oclussion?
I think so. I'm not sure what you are asking though. Why do you need occlusion?
@@WillGibbons Never mind I already figure it out and realized that My question was very bad formulated hahahaha thanks!
Could you do also a part 4 for the animation?
We'll see. Probably not with this series because we build out an entire interior for it which is tough to render, but I will do some animation tutorials eventually.
Will Gibbons That would be awesome!
Hey guys, I use rhino for my models, does anyone how can I separate the c pane from the form without exploding the model or do should I create a planar view for the same and then layer it on top of the model?
I'm a bit confused about the question, but if you apply different colors on each body/part before importing into KeyShot, they will be seen as separate bodies. Hopefully this helps.
@@WillGibbons brilliant, it worked, what I thought was, would I have to split a model to separate it from the other faces or was there a simpler way of doing it, which is what you suggested
Hi Will, I saw in your devices that you are using an ultrawide monitor. 34". This ultrawide monitor works well with a 3D software? Like Creo, Solidworks and so on. I was imaging all the menus stretched...
Hey! It works just fine. Never had issues. It's the operating system that handles display scaling and your graphics card, not the monitor itself. If you have issues with these items, it's a setting you should be able to change in your OS or GPU.
@@WillGibbons Thanks!
hi. anyone knows how to make the edge has different color from the flat?
Pretty sure you just need to apply the texture.
Cant find the chair in the file vault
You're correct. I forgot to upload it last night. It's there now. Sorry about that.
cant see plywood chair model in your downloads?
You're correct. I forgot to upload it last night. It's there now. Sorry about that.
Will Gibbons thank you
