We were on the Grand Princess in January. We absolutely loved our time on her. She's a beautiful ship, the crew were wonderfu, the food was great and there was heaps to do. ❤
Adrian, without doubt you conduct the best ship tour, no one is as detailed or as thorough as you; well done!! Last month we did the Melbourne/Sydney cruise (booked with Cynthia) on the Grand princess and thoroughly enjoyed our limited time on her. I'm surprised you didn't tour the Promenade Deck which we consider to be amongst the best on all Princess ships. Loved the Grand, she's almost as nice as the Coral...... just kidding, not really, the Coral's the best. Enchanted is next on our list in July; getting excited.

@JohnSmith-cu1jo we cruised the Med on the Royal P in 2017 and was very disappointed by the lack of a Promenade deck, but if you want to cruise the Med there's little choice umfortunately! Next year, we're cruising the Med on Island P, but she's too has been ruined by the addition of extra Deck 7 cabins.

I’m actually putting a Princess Cruises “family cruise” review together which should be up next week. Spoiler alert, I think Princess are an exceptional family cruise line, with great kids clubs. They don’t offer many of the attractions such as water slides that other cruise lines do, but kids love the clubs!
There is complimentary food available 24x7, both via room service and at the International Cafe. Main meals are served in the main dining room, plus the buffet. There are also the other food outlets on the pool deck etc. None of these are counted, you can enjoy as much as you like.
Hi I’m 19 and gonna be going on this cruise in december 2024 for christmas and new years to hawaii. I was wondering if there’s a lot to do for someone my age obviously I can go swimming and shoot some hoops but is there anything more for me to enjoy? It does seem like the Grand Princess is more built for people over 21. Although I know if I was over 21 I’d have a very fun time at sea.😂
Hey there. You're right in that Princess generally caters for more mature cruisers, but I think you'll still find a few younger people onboard to spend some time with! I hope you enjoy the voyage!
@@TheCruiseandTravelGuy I’ve traveled with princess cruises before as it’s the only cruise line my family will book with. I’ve only been on the Golden and the Star which now from what i’ve read both aren’t apart of the fleet anymore but the Grand does give off very similar vibes to those ships.
When was this tour done? I have heard there have been some changes made on some of the Princess ships, and with everyone still wearing masks I am kind of wondering the month this was done. If you could let me know that would be great, Thanks.

@TheCruiseandTravelGuy well that makes alot of sense. I've only ever travelled on p&o and have watched your video to get an idea of what to expect on our next trip on the Princess next year.
This was the very first ship we ever sailed on back in the Mediterranean in 2005 . She had the night club at the back rear spoiler then like the P&O adventure still has ( ex princess ship ) . They removed it thinking it would make the ship sail more efficient but it actually made it worse . Why the the other ships with it kept it on . There is actually a video on line showing them removing it . She was the ants pants back then . It was then we fell in love with cruising .
As an ex crew member onboard the fair princess i have to say the pay that crew members get is despicable. As a bar steward i was paid by the company 50 dollars a month the rest being 15% of drink sales. Its a slave labour wage and there are worse examples. So when your on your cruise just remember the slave labour that your floating on. The crew are responsible for your safety and security onboard, not just the service. The crew should be much more appreciated than that as they are your safety net in the event of an abandoned ship scenario.
Did you not know what the pay scale would be when you "signed up" to work? If so, then you really have nothing to complain about. You were not "forced" to work in the first place. Furthermore, I find your threats simply despicable, and this certainly is not the forum to vent this type of grievance.
@destinyreturns4885 yes payscale was obvious but sales on board were very low. I was very adept at selling a drink but when it's two for one there's no spending
This ship is too old. We were on it in 2016 for a cruise to Alaska and it was showing its age. Lots of things were not in good shape. One of the doors for the Horizon Court was broken. Cold air was getting inside while we were eating.
I ve done 15 cruises and this one will forever hold a very special place in my heart. it is classic and old , nut really organised and beautiful

Basically, they're very similar. The Ruby and Emerald are based on the Grand Class design with some changes.

I think the Grand class ships are my favorite Princess ships.
I have to agree, I think they have a lovely layout, especially with their expansive outer decks and wraparound Promenade

She does, and it’s a wraparound deck so in good weather you can walk the full circuit

I wish Alfredo's pizza was stoll complimentary. Not anymore, princess charges for most anything they can now.

Internet cafe , wasted space
In today’s day and age, when everyone has their own personal devices, it is a bit of a waste.
I hated it. So dull
Try other cruise lines if Princess wasn’t to your taste. Something like Royal Caribbean or NCL.
