I have a 2014 F150. Was excited to do this as my wipers are currently stuck on the lowest setting. I followed the videos instructions (which lays the step by step out nicely) however my issue was not resolved.
Not trying to be a negative Nelly, just an fyi to other folks with the same problem that it is not a guaranteed fix.
Appreciated the video none the less.

Thanks for the video. Every “solution” I’ve read or video I watched just changed out the part. I wanted to know why the part failed and if it could be fixed. My part didn’t have any corrosion like yours, it was covered in what I believe is white lithium grease. I removed the circuit board like you did and simply bent the 2 small contacts up a little and it appears to have solved the problem. The 3 contacts appear to be for the blinkers, and the other 2 for the wipers. Thanks for saving me the time and money of buying a replacement part. Cheers.

I tried the repair and thought it worked but unfortunately it did not.
But it did give me the confidence to replace the multi switch function altogether.
I took the windshield motor fuse out after locating it in my trucks manual and just waited for the part I ordered to come in. The part took longer than expected to come which is why I just took the fuse out but kept it in a safe place in my truck in case I needed to pop it back in to actually use the windshield wipers.
The problem now is officially fixed! I’d say if you don’t want to save yourself some money order your part needed through Amazon because I paid $21 as opposed to $58 or $61 autozone and other car stores were charging.

Thank you, so much!!!! Easy clean and worked without a hitch. Highly recommend everyone to try doing this first. If it doesn't work then do a replacement module which only costs about $60.00. It's be the same basic process. Pop old one out and put the new one in. DO NOT GO TO THE DEALER unless you really have too. This is far too easy of a DIY.

That's not thermal paste on the connector. It's dielectric grease. It is nonconductive and helps keep moisture and debris out of the connector. If the problem IS being caused by a short at the connector, you should reapply dielectric grease before reinstalling. Btw...thermal paste is also nonconductive, so the same would apply with that, as well.
The fix was probably from cleaning the other parts of the switch rather than cleaning the connector.

Correction it IS thermal paste. the exact same thermal paste one would use on a CPU or transistor heat sinks. They use thermal paste grease on those contacts because they resist corrosion and can take the heat of the sun beating through the window/windshield on them all day during summer. What happens is the thermal paste gets old and dries up and starts preventing contact exactly like it does on an old CPU. The video is right on calling it thermal paste. Just my 2 cents.

Yes it definitely works. My issue came back after a year or so but I took it apart and cleaned again and now it’s good.

Way to go forward none of these vehicles are more than four years old and there’s 50 million people saying they’ve had this issue I would say that is a recall or better yet I will say I’m getting ready to get another truck was gonna get a Ford but I think I’ll try Chevy or dodge

This is just one of many stupid, minor issues ive had with this 2016 f150. Lots of idiotic little things Im having to take time out of my day to address and spend money on that I shouldnt have to. A month ago it was the back sliding window track falling off. Ford went so cheap on alot of things. My next truck may very well be a chevy.
