Kelly is so underrated. She is one of the greatest pop vocalists ever period. Just incredible! The range, technique, power, emotive quality. Great review, I hope you do more.
Aretha Franklin was one of her idols and she said she knew Kelly was going to be a star the first time she saw her.
I have had the pleasure of seeing her in concert 7 times. She is so in tune with her emotions and conveys them so authentically
Her voice is perfection; it's so effortless. She's learned how to best utilize and care for that wonderful gift she was given. She's amazing.

Love Kelly! She’s an amazing vocalist! Her voice can literally do anything, her range has actually only gotten wider and solid than when she was younger.

Really enjoyed this! I think some of the "Kelly thru the years" videos have clips of her performing around 2003 or so when she was still on the post-Idol whirlwind and you can hear that her voice was fatigued. She has talked about how at that time, she didn't know that she could say "No" to things, and so she over-extended herself. Now, I think she sounds better than ever because she's found balance. When you mentioned the "cry" in some of her notes and how you thought it wasn't planned, it made me think of her tribute to Dolly Parton recently at an awards show. There's a moment where she's totally caught up in the emotion of the song/moment, and she breaks a little bit but it's so beautiful. Maybe you've seen it- I Will Always Love You (Live from the 57th ACM Awards). Also, many people might not know that Dolly was literally standing off-stage during this and that put a lot of pressure on Kelly! 🤣 She sings like a goddess but she is still only human, after all! Anyway- thanks again for such a great video. Peace.

I love Kelly! Her vocals are phenomenal! She also has so much versatility & can sing any genre! I’m not positive if that specific cry was intentional or not, but she is fully capable of applying the cry intentionally because you can see her do it often if you watch/listen to a lot of her songs. She is one of my favorite female artists of all time! “By the way piece by piece I found out my hero’s me” is a reference to her older song piece by piece that she wrote about her ex husband. Kelly is in her true vocal prime right now! Her voice has never sounded better or healthier!

Have you ever heard of German singer Helene Fischer? If not I'd say check her out..I think she is really good. Sings live. I am at present obsessed with her rendition of "Hallelujah ( live aus der hofburg Wien) That is not a song easy to make your own consideing the amount of covers but I feel she did and did so very successfully.
Suggestion for you. Post Modern Jukebox ft. Haley Reinhart on “Creep.” Haley is one of those once in a lifetime vocalists that have a style that is so relaxed yet extraordinarily colorful and fun to listen to.
