the map scale is what wargame and warno missed, feels like your playing on a gameboard. Loving the World In Conflict feel
I wouldn't say missed as the map sizes are to facilitate the game play
wargame and warno map sizes were too large and really promoted a more zoomed out gameplay style rather than slightly more zoomed in. Bigger maps arent automatically better. by size, this map is much bigger than most warno orwargame maps, but its just designed in a better way that really promotes a more zomed in gameplay
@@SaucyNetworkEntertainment I think that wargame fit it's niche very well and the map sizes were good for it, it's just that instead of doing wargame 2 and Eugen keeping that niche going they went in other directions and failed. This occupies the world in conflict niche, which is great since we have not had a good one of those for a while.

The game looks really promising, world in conflict was my favorite RTS game, and this game looks like one of the best RTS games that has come out in the last few years, I'm really excited to see how nukes will turn out. is there a release date already?. was a good stream and I will give you my prime subscription again when it's ready again, until then keep it up :)
Thank you so much! there is no exact release date YET but there should be a more permanent version of the game sometime this year. The development has been delayed in the past but trust me, after seeing some behind the scenes stuff, its worth the wait.
Man do i love this game, i always wanted more modern RTS's, I Hope we can get a skirmish mode for the Demo, even if we dont, the mission seems pretty good at showcasing the game
no skirmish mode apparently but the full game will have co op and skirmish

@@sereeyengsakulpaisal3756 yeah when you take over the FORT, it crashes sometime between that and the reinforcements coming. Pretty much crashes 99/100 times

As a marine veteran it really excites me to see a game devoted to the marine corps in a way, the accurate vehicle names, assets etc. is really cool and its nice to see these things get the limelight for once in a game.

I've never really liked RTS games but I love watching others play them.

RIGHT?! And keep in mind, the graphics arent optimal right now due to optimization issues. I have some things turned off. Its going to look BETTER!
Oh, it looks a lot like a real-life Baltiysk being stormed from the Polish side, not just a semi-randomly generated urban quarter. But the buildings in reality are old 1-2 store households, like the ones you can see on the right side ingame, with only a handful of 3-store archaic multi-appartment buldings from 1950s in the southern part of town. The ingame architecture looks more modern. The sport field in the center must be a bit to the right in reality, where the devs made a couple of non-existent pools. :) On the contrary, near the left coast there is a line of old Prussian coastal fortifications that are not depicted, and along the right-side there should be old Soviet hangars and portal buildings.
I remember the devs had a post on steam last year that has since been deleted. That image showed a different version of the map. My guess is that the developers took some creative liberty to make the map more interesting from a gameplay standard.
Recon. Undermine. Subvert. Engage. R.U.S.E. is the fundamental concept behind every strategem of war.
This game's recon system seems pretty cool considering the current values are just placeholders.
You undermined the enemies defenses by neutralising their A3D systems, allowing for the use of force multipliers like F/A-18 and Tomohawk. In the currently planned changes to the game you will be able to customise your aircraft, troops and vehicles to give them different equipment such as bombs, grenade launchers, different rifles and attachments, autocannons, ATGM launches, armour packages, recon packages etc.
It sadly doesn't currently appear there is any intention to add subversive mechanics beyond that provided by fog of war.
Holy crap are the engagements fun to watch, especially considering these assets have placeholder values at the moment.
Gameplay looks like a 8.75/10 so far, they're improving the optimisation as well, and the art style and graphics are great.
My wishlist just got a little bit longer 👌

The developers did discuss drones as an ability for certain recon infantry to use in battle. Maybe it is not in the demo but may be in the finished game.

After the disappointing affair that is Company of Heroes 3 and the lack of Modern RTS games, this fits right in.
I love that you have to manually fight building to building, have tank hunters destroy tanks before moving up your vehicles.
It really pays off to move your troops methodically with combined arms support.
yep absolutely. i just hope we get a ton of good RTS games to play this year. Dont deprive yourself of the other RTS games!
I love it how they attack Kaliningrad from the sea where they have a land border with a Nato countries to the south and east. I guess it must be videogame logic :)

I feel like massive paratrooping is gonna be awesome in multiplayer or custom battles. Although the AA in this game is insane that aircrafts are hard to use. Although infantry is quite clunky when entering structures or positioning. But the best thing I can see is that the dynamic of the supplies.

I'm pleasantly surprised, I wasn't a big fan of the Wargame series, but this actually looks pretty decent. Especially with how it handles infantry vs Wargame.
I hope we get allied AI in the campaign, one thing I loved about World in Conflict was AI allies doing their own thing while you went for your own objectives, it gave the feeling of being part of something bigger, I really don't like being in control of everything.
True that would be cool! Its definitely something that can be added with custom scenarios though

I guess mission 2 will be dodging mutants in the "Fallout" timeline.
I have one idea that could help the developers, once any plane whether a heli or an aircraft falls down, it would be wise to help the pilot and crew and destroy the remaining of the aircraft as it is a valuable and classified technology.

This is peak level quality for a such a game, looks and feels better than wargame
It can be seen that the animations are still quite rough, without much functional logic, the armored vehicles passed over the soldiers and they didn't even make way for the armored personnel carrier to pass or correctly enter the truck.

you can also see the when Infantry boarding to the APC the other APC slowed down instead of noclipping the Infantry!

The game is great with really cool vehicle, unit and map modeling, I hope the devs will still have a lot of ideas to implement in this game.

I kinda wish it was slower paced but that's personal preference. For example mortar shells take way longer to land irl and the vehicles were extremely zippy
The biggest issue for me with this game so far is that it don't have pause button binded to the hotkey and there is no saves in the demo mission. Didn't realised that I can use planes on the Fort part, lost it really quick, and there goes 70 mins of my gameplay \I am a little bit slow on the RTS\Wargame part of things, like to think and plan, this is with me since Combat Mission series.\
But in all other aspects - looks really promising.

The way you lost yout Ofspreys was a real tragedy
Devs some suggestions:
1. provide an option for troops to deploy directing ontop of buildings from helicopters (propelling down with a rope from the helo for example)
2. provide more fluid troop movement commands so you can direct the path of their movement and use spacebar to show march trajectories just like the animation for carving up a target for artillery ?

I feel so dumb after seeing how you were able to add supplies to the LVSR the same way you load up infantry, and when I played the demo myself I spent forever trying to figure it out and just gave up lmao... plus I didnt even realize that you can do things with the mortar like firing in a line or changing the number of rounds fired

it looks really good tbh, I'm pleasantly surprised. The marine voice lines feel like they could get annoying fast though. "ONCE A MARINE, ALWAYS A MARINE". Feel like I'm gonna be hearing that in my sleep tonight and I haven't even played it yet lol.

The game really promising!
Overall I like the general feel of the game so far, however I have to wonder a few things.
First and foremost something I haven't seen commented on is the fact that the M47 Dragon is in game, that system is long gone, replaced by the FGM 148 Javelin over 20 years ago. I doubt there are many Active Duty Marines still in who even saw, let alone fired one.
I know most games aren't really going to cover fire and maneuver that well, but as soon as you're taking contact you don't just keep pushing like that in a tight formation. Infantry Reaction to Contact could be improved.
Some of the voice lines make me smile, some of them are just downright cheesy but they definitely showcase some of the Esprit de Corps.
The premise of this mission is suspension of belief. Somehow we can't bring in any air assets until the AD is down and we can't use LCAC or ACV until that Arty is knocked out, but don't worry! The really slow and totally not obsolete Amtrak's are just going to sneak in somehow and open the way for all the platforms which replaced them, but at least we have Red Patchers with LVSR and a large logi train ashore already.
I know it's a game and you have to be able to have a chance, but the Russian defense here was seriously flawed, as was the assault element for our Marines, but it's exciting so far to see a game like this.
I hope to see it become a great success.
True that it hasnt been used in the US army in a while (1975-1990s), But the US marine corps has been using them untill 2001. And its not a bad thing to have some variety in a videogame. If we only have like 1 or 2 anti tank weapons to use, it would be a bit boring in the long run no? In the end, its a game that uses realism to enhance the game and not to limit it. Realistically we would probably have used about 50-100 tomahawk cruise missiles instead of sending in a naval force hehe
And the demo build has your landing forces get hit by an MLRS now....

I think this is an amazing demo I would see myself buying this game. Really the only thing I would want changed would be how the dialogue sounds. I would want it to sound more like OG MW2 radio communication. If dialogue sounded like that it would enhance the game in my opinion. But I understand this is demo.

Looks like a good cross between wargame and world in conflict. Units look great, the graphics are going to be improved so I have no complaints in there and even as is it looks good enough. As a technical piece I think its proven its concept, how its integrated ships supporting a naval landing, a parachute drop being an undertaking in itself, it's all good. The only things that I would have liked to have seen from an aesthetic point of view is woodland camo on the USMC vehicles

The Mission is different now. After the tanks landed in my Mission i got shot by a cruise missle that obliterated my Landing Party...
They were rockets from MLRS. Yea the newest version is different

I wonder if eventually we can get more single player campaigns and factions to play multiplayer with, an European NATO faction, a Chinese faction, and Maybe South Korea/Japan, Maybe Iran and North Korea and India as well. Basically the nations that bring variety of units to play with and balancing their lower or higher tech with numbers and such. A second Korean war campaign would be awesome and probably welcome after getting so much Russia vs USA stuff over the years. Looking forward to the game overall.
oh yeah single player will be a huge thing. there will also be custom scenarios with actual scripting involved, you will be able to add your own cutscenes and voices etc. I believe they do plan to add other nations but the sources are a bit vague so i am waiting to announce this stuff untill i have a solid confirmation.

absolutely. thats why its so important to write down any and all issues and relay them to the devs. Filling in the survey in the demo is a great start
I tried the mission 5 times and I could never hold the fort long enough for the invasion to happen. Besides the game crashing prematurely.
yeah those issues have been reported prior too. There are definitely a ton of bugs and crashes that happen but luckily its exactly what this technical stress test is all about. Good to iron out these issues now. make sure to report these issues in the survey and or on their official discord.
You need to clear out the surrounding buildings, AAs and armored vehicles first and then lock the buildings down before you have any unit capture the fort.
Also got to make sure you've resupplied and replaced your troop casualties beforehand because they basically outnumber you 2 to 1 during the Airborne phase.
Your AT ammo per unit will run out easily even when freshly supplied before your landing forces arrive.

like the pace of the RTS, that Viper was just decimating units but can be very vulnerable, the motars, or arty they dont take long for the fire mission given, like Steel Division man takes to long to load a first run i could see maybe after the first artillery bombing but first you figure they have shells locked and load it. Hope they keep up the DEMO up, even though i got beat on the second island guessing has to do being to aggressive like always LoL but it was fun i have not enjoyed any other RTS do to the fast pace, i hope they keep the level of Pace as it is micro manage is fair i Love it man just love it.
Map looks fine, but when I compare it to the real Baltiiskye, then I think map based on the real city would looks much better. :D
Most glaring error I saw: "10-4" is not a military pro-word in radio telecommunications. The military uses "Roger" (I understand) or "Wilco" (I understand and will comply). 10-codes are used in law enforcement and civilian communications. Otherwise, I didn't see anything else that was problematic. The game mechanics were great.

It look like Warno but as you said in a comment, it seems it it design to be played more zoomed in. I will give it a try as I do not like zoom out action in Warno.
Anything that flies must be managed a lot or its useless have to constantly babysit it and dump flares like for vipers very powerful unit if babysited
The countermeassures will be automatic for fire and forget missiles, but taking manual control can help. it was bugged in the demo, which is understandable since its a demo.

Love the game so far, this is right up my alley.
But they've got some real work to do when it comes to aircraft and AA. I have so many aircraft get shot down because they take small arms fire and panic and then never land. They just hover over the area till they blow up. Then I had IFV, AA, and Infantry units all hitting it from a decent distance. They just panic and blow up.
Maybe this is a bug, seems kind of wack. The ability to hot drop some troops in a combat area would be nice, I understand you need to avoid actual AA units but Infantry small arms fire keeping a chopper from landing is a bit much.
Also wish we could use some Bradley's or Strykers in this demo, real game changers. Those ATGM teams really slap though.
ah yeah i bet the supression from small arms will be reduced depending on which helicopter were talking about but its important to put these in suggestions or report them in the survey when you load up the demo. Their discord is also a good place to comment about it.
Most infantry teams in this game carry more than 4 nlaws or equivalent and can knock vehicles out the sky in this game.
Its kinda nuts.
Mortar and indirect fire are fucking king in this game based on my runs with the mortars.

Also if you know, how exactly does the unit availability work? I assumed it was a population cap on certain squads that you'd get back if they died or if you RTB'd them, but I saw some other gameplay and that doesn't seem the case, does it just refresh after a certain amount of time?
There is definitely a limit to the number of units you can have. This demo doesnt go that deep into all of that. I ran out of quite a few of these units such as the dragon teams for example.
Yes, there is a limit of units you could potentially spawn. Just like any other wargame-type games.
You can buy a certain amount of units, but if any of them die then they will be available to buy again after a certain amount of time.
Reminds me of Syrian warfare but on grander scale.
I have high hopes for this game, I hope it doesn't become fast paste like warno, that game is the blue print on how not to make a war game

How did you manage to drop supply there at 10:16? Tried everything but right click left click long short unload :(
click unit, click U, left mouse where u want it to unload. Or just double click U for it to drop where it is
