And nobody was mentioning March 21th in October - it was "This winter", yes i know winter lasts until 21st but back then their favorite date was Decemer 21st not March. Suddenly after money grab that changed abruptly from winter 2018/2019 to end of March 2019.

They have even acknowledged that the latest day would be 20 March. Again, they didn’t force anyone to give them a dime. They are the last develepors ill be pre-purchasing from because the rest of the devs like dropping other modules with even less systems working. Everyone is excited for this plane. I hope the money from my pre-purchase goes to their release party booze.
Really great knowledge base here on CVW-11, awesome to see you guys sort of bouncing off each other with the devs even on nitty gritty details about the most discrete aspects of the aircraft, it really shows how deeply rooted heatblur seem to have become with regards to the complete workings and history of the bird. VERY much looking forward to what you guys can bring to the table content wise once the cat does finally release, I think there's probably more first hand Tomcat knowledge in this group and on this channel than anywhere else bar the SME's working for Heatblur!
I'm starting to get into DCS specifically for the Tomcat. Once I learn the ropes, I'd love to join a Carrier Air Wing and a legacy Tomcat Squadron like the Black Aces. Idk the process for joining, as I said I'm very new to DCS. Any advice for a noob?

DCS F-14 is being groomed to be the most enveloping sim experience of our time. Built from the ground up with Virtual Reality in mind, (which is something I personally believe will redefine the genre as we know it), it goes above and beyond the proverbial call of duty. NO ONE has EVER thrown so much time, effort and love into making their product the absolute best it could possibly be, and THAT is why Heatblur's Tomcat will stand head and shoulders above the rest. I very much doubt that there is an airplane that is more beloved by so many people all over the world. Like everyone else, I'm very much looking forward to mixing it up online with all of the Tomcat's air superiority competitors like Hornets and Flankers and Eagles and, eventually, even Vipers. I would even go so far as to say that it's detractors are probably at least a little bit curious to see what it's capable of. But most of all, I want to learn as much information as possible about this airplane, this arrant marvel of human ingenuity. Playing with this module will provide me with more raw data than any book or documentary could ever provide. I have other planes in the hangar and I enjoy them all. Fighter and attack jets have always impressed me with their lethal cocktail of speed, grace and killpower. However, of them all, none have ever dazzled me like the F-14. It's a shame that some community members have never been close to a living, breathing example. There is no experience on earth that can quite match the reverberating thunder of a Tomcat in full afterburner as it bullets across the sky a few hundred feet in front of your face.
The most beautiful and powerful fighter aircraft ever made, when you see the F-14 on deck ready for catshot the nose down and large wings I can imagine the fighter pilot say : Ok guys I'm on my way and I'm going to kick your ass...
Pring Photography that buno definitely sounds familiar... would have been Fast Eagle 100 or 101. All our other bunos were 160 series. She was a good jet... take good care of her? Does she still have 101 in red reflective tape on the rear cockpit front panel?

They have what's called "IceMan AI" that is going to be a rudamentary front seat pilot if you want to jump in the backseat to learn. That, as far as I'm aware, is single player only
This is so finitely modeled I think HeatBlur should release a 20 - 30hr flight school video set for purchase. It needs to cover every system, tactics, employments etc. Actual f-14 school is a year? We'll need help to get the most out of this baby.
Doe Joe , personally I'd be bleak if I had to purchase additional training material after already paying for the F14 as a pre-order. The assumption is that the training school comes with the module. If you want to see some pretty interesting but easy to understand ACM maneuvers, try to Google Jane's Advanced Tactical Fighters manual, pretty cool info
Phillip Nicholson but you wouldn’t have to purchase it. It would be an optional advanced video series. You would have an account and it would give you access to advanced f-14 video training for the pilot and Rio straight from the developers. I’ve never seen an included manual that offered that. Falcon 4.0 provided a lot but it wasn’t advanced training. Anything that comes with purchase right now would be a pilot operating handbook not advanced training.

Your logo is identical to the patch with no distinction made, and the same is true for the virtual squadrons you list. You need to do a better job of making it obvious that you've got nothing to do with CVW-11. This would be considered copyright infringement if it wasn't a military organization. There are people out there who watched their friends die in service with these squadrons (including the guy who taught me how to fly), and equally (if not more) importantly, people have died at their hands. The names here should be treated with a little more respect than people are going to give to a group of guys using a virtual simulator together. Look I think what you're doing is cool and you're doing it well, just consider taking this advice please. The whole copycat thing leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
I tried this when they offered it for a two day free trial. I am sad to report that just like the Yak, F16 & F18 that it is a slideshow as far as framerates compared to well done aircraft like all the FC3 aircraft, and the Harrier. I fail to understand why they can't make these newer jets fly as butter-smooth as the Harrier? What is the attraction to flying an aircraft with slideshow framerates? Seriously, there is no excuse to an immediate 30% loss of framerates when other DCS aircraft just as detailed and complex run so very well, what gives??

@@mikeekim2532 FC3 aircraft do not model complex systems, nor complex flight models, they are "game" aircraft and not full fidelity modules. No aircraft but the Tomcat has 8K textures. The harrier does not have complex cockpit textures, they are rather simple in comparison. Also in terms of the differences in the Tomcat, every rivet, switch, nut, bolt, screw, wire etc in the cockpit was laser scanned to make the model. It's by far the most complex and accurate representation of an aircraft in DCS. I use the term "gripe" in its true form, which is a "complaint." I cannot help with complaints as I do not work for Heatblur. I have 20 tomcat pilots/RIO's in CVW-11 and not a single one complains about FPS in the Tomcat, that is the extent of my knowledge of FPS issues in the airframe. Therefore I directed you to the ED forums where you may get some help with it :) Or if you would post your PC specs I can somewhat explain what may be happening. But it's not optimal compared to support in the ED forums.

But you need more of a system than most people own just to run DCS's ancient single-core clogging code, let alone the behemoth of a performance killer f14 piled on top. Balance is beauty plus performance. F14 tips the scales on beauty, no question there, but its performance issues, as stated by most everyone I hear from online, is a slideshow. Every map, even just over water. Perhaps for the walloping prices they charge for these newer aircraft they should provide a framerate friendly version that can be flown without seizure inducing stutters? That's all I am saying. F14 could look as good as the Harrier and run as butter smooth as well. To say less is to say that f14 is already as perfect and optimized as possible and unimprovable.☺
ryzen 5. ssd, rtx2018, I can run ALL other DCS aircraft, anywhere and anytime smoothly, EXCEPT the still unfinished Yak, F14, F16 and F18. Owned some of these for almost 2 years and they are still unfinished, unoptimized and a guaranteed 30% drop in fps. Maybe in 5 years ED will find time to finish one of these lingering in production-coma aircraft, but you can pre-order supercarrier, am I right☺ LOL
Hi’ in learn aviation videos of different planes as primer has same concept in prev’s. F4, 100, 111 has two pilots research if aerobatics even lighter planes. Perhaps about flying hours is the primer as dream pilot either in commercial plane but our hardtime parent cataract eye then leak pipelines house with double installation to repair at side of house leak pipelines overwhelm by neighbors cutting blades to repair then a double in meter with gauge valve first before dig the repair part is not able they said in learn.

Will they ever cosider making the F-14D aswell?
A while back they said they would like to make the D once both the A and B were feature complete. Idk if their still considering it though.
By the speed of progress, yeah, we will have D variant - around 2035 if nothing unplanned happens.

@@PhillMagGamerDad Yeah, but it would be a welcome addition down the road :) I'm honestly expecting them to eventually be doing the D version too, I wouldn't understand it if they didn't to be honest as they've already done most of the ground work with the F-14B.
@@bellator11, oh don't get me wrong, I'd love the F14D. But like they mentioned, apparently it is really hard to get hold of info on the later models, especially systems and sensors info. Not necessarily classified, just impossible to chase down

I think you mean to say that you want the F-14D? Both the A and B models also received the DFCS upgrade before the plane was retired.
Fix the harrier first
1. Harrier is in early access and is being worked on.
2. Harrier is made by Razbam, not Heatblure. Wrong 3:d party developer.
Heatblur is not the creaters of the Harrier, The Harrier is made by Razbam so you are barking up the wrong tree here
