Building a "Bagged" RC Blazer!! | RC Custom Chassis Build
Вставка

- This one is one I've been wanting to do for a while! I've toyed with the idea of building a "slammed" or "bagged" RC truck for a while now but never really knew were to start. RC bodies are typically made from lexan and are scaled based on the model they are made for so they aren't always "realistically scaled" like I wanted. But with crawling and scale trucks getting popular, there are more readily available styrene or plastic hard bodies out there. The RC4WD K5 Blazer is a common but great start for a build like this. It's super detailed and leaves a lot of room for modifications as well.
For the frame, I wanted to stick with the scale looks as well. I wanted it to look like something that could actually be produced by a manufacturer but also look like a full scale chassis. The technology around 3d printing, specifically resin 3d printing, makes this possible with the quality of parts that can be printed now.
So with a K5 Blazer Hardbody, an Axial SCX10 frame as a base, and a resin 3d printer, I'm starting my journey of building a scale Slammed RC Truck!!

- I am super excited to see a "new" project started !!!! 👏🤘😁👌
... Now, I turned the notification "on" !!!
👍
Awesome! Thank you!
Awesome job sir. I can't wait to see where this goes
Thank you! I'm hoping my ideas work out
Badass can’t wait to see this finished
Thanks, it'll be a long road but I'm excited.
It’s going to be sick.look forward to see the progress.nice job sir.👍👊
Thank you! Part 2 is live on the channel now!
im so thankful for these videos man im learning so much!! yes film everything man i love this type of stuff man!!
Hahaha thanks!
This going to be cooooooool
😬😬 I'm hoping so!
Wow 3D printers our gonna revolutionize the scale builder world. Can’t wait to see what some of these people do with them.
They absolutely already have. Some of the things people are creating are insane to say the least!
Looks amazing brother, great job on the design
Thank you!
Beautiful
Thank you!
Look forward to seeing more on this! Super sick!
Awesome, thank you!
I’m building a bagged blazer too but using a 4tec chassis. This has me rethinking the frame.. Awesome build man! Can’t wait to see more
I looked into a chassis like that myself but decided I wanted a solid rear axle so I figured this would be best. Good luck on your build!!
I'm excited for the finished result
I'm preparing for this to be a long project but I'm excited to get it done as well!
Yooo this thing is gonna be sick!
Hahaha Thanks!1
Beautiful work man.
Thank you so much!!
Liked and subscribed 😊 what a great project to follow
Awesome! Thank you!
Nice! Pretty interesting showing the build.. I can probably learn from this and maybe even upgrade my 1/18 scale RC
That's an awesome idea so far try extending that top link so it works like a swing and you can mount the shocks in on the bottom of the new mount you've made
Thank you, it's working so far as planned, onto the rear!
pretty neat design work on the front suspension. lookin forward to watchin yer build progress. y'all have a badass day \m/
Thank you so much!
Cool build! GCM racing makes a narrow axle for crawlers to keep the tires tucked in! Would be perfect for this and less likely to break.
Might've checked that out if I knew about it before I cut up the AR44 hahaha. I'll see how it goes! Thanks!
This is gonna be amazing, great project and video 👍🏻
Hoping so, thank you!
That’s the king of stuff I like to see.. coloring outside the box and making your own rules. All the parts I made for the 1:7 Skyline were from scratch but once I get the hang of the new resin printer my builds are going to get better. I can really appreciate the detail and realism your putting into your build, definitely less risky than 200mph.
Thank you so much!! I love designing stuff like this and making things work so I'm having a blast. It's a different direction than any sort of racing or anything but still really cool and fun!
@@FullThrottleRC whats the easiest way to get ahold of you??id like to rap with u if thats ok
?
@@NorcalChef209 Instagram is probably best, or you can find my email on my page if you need.
This will be sweet! Subscribed and excited
Thanks for the support!!
This is awesome dude
Thank you!!
The is build is going to be sweet! Looking forward to this series. Might need to build one myself.
I'm really excited to get it together! Getting the frame together and functioning will be a task on its own but will be really sweet to see.
Great video looking forward to seeing it all done in all its glory
Thank you! It'll be a long project but I'm excited to get it done!
@@FullThrottleRC what's your Facebook or your indtagram I'd like to talk to you bruh..I build airbagged and bodydropped minitrucks..had my first bagged ride in 97..im new to the rc game but not bags and can help you out a 1000 fold..and its not the resin hommie..please please send me a link or your name to facebook
@@NorcalChef209 I actually don't have Facebook but you can find me on Instagram @f_t_r_c
Wow that’s going to be awesome dude yeah love it I’ll be following 👍👍😎
I'm hoping so, thank you!
Looks like a cool project. Subbed
Thank you! Appreciate the support!
Sounds like your building a truck for the Ultimate Scale Truck Expo. I heard they have a vendor row infield that is over 10,000 square feet for 2023!
Hahaha I've never been but that sounds really awesome!
Nice info👍🏻
Thank you 👍
*Cool vídeo*
Thank you!
Happy New Year homie
Happy New Year!
Glad I stumbled across this, looks like a fun project, please do share your Fusion360 work videos, I do a lot of work there myself but I find that I learn a lot of new ways to work and think by looking at how others work
Awesome thank you!! I'm hoping to do more videos as I get into working on the wheels.
That's cool man. I've got a Tamia clodbuster square body. Trying to do the same. But I can't afford a 3d printer. Or the parts. So I use spare parts from other Rc cars
I looked around a lot at other models like the ifs from the Enduro and stuff like that to start this build. When I came down to it though, it was just going to seem better to design my own parts!!
I have a longer 5k resin printer im looking to sell and it's brand new Gera it's exactly what you need but im looking to get a rc truck or car for it..shoot me your instagram
That's totally awesome I want to see and know more
Thank you!
The Anycubic Tough resin is great stuff to use for more durable parts. On my Anycubic Photon, I didn't have to change ANY settings in Chitubox from what I already used for standard gray resin.
I'm trying the Elegoo ABS-like resin now and didn't have to change anything as well and got some pretty nice prints so far! The Anycubic tough resin is another I've been checking out tho!
I'm kind curious to see how the 4 suspension servos handle the forces when encountering bumps and the weight of the truck. I like the idea can't wait to see it all together! Cool build
I'm mainly concerned about the weight of the truck as it won't see many bumps or anything once it's finished. Admittedly, it'll be like a shelf queen, only see sunny days and smooth roads! Thanks!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
👍🏻😁
That's sick!
Just an FYI, there's also a 1/10th-ish S10 Blazer body available. It's an old Bolink body reproduced by Team Bluegroove with decals from MCI. I've been thinking about doing one on a CC01 but a prerunner build would be awesome too.
Thanks! I think I've seen that body but I wanted something like a hard body that I could cut and modify and just do bodywork on after before paint.
Make sure u make two of everything so I can buy the other one lol
😂😂 I'm already preparing for the people asking "how much for one?" just like the mini bike!
That's cool, I am making a similar truck myself at the moment but with all steel chassis and robot servos acting directly on the shock absorbers, I was thinking about using bell crank/linkages similar to you have there but wanted to keep it as simple as possible. do you think your servos are going to be beefy enough to withstand the load without stripping the gears?
That's what I'm hoping but not entirely sure honestly. The front is fine so far without any other weight of the body or motor. Hoping to get some more stuff installed soon to test that out. Good luck on your build as well!
@@FullThrottleRC thanks, keep up the excellent videos!
Any chance you'll be making the suspension parts for the Traxxas C10 chassis? I'm wanting to build a Traxxas C10 from their K110 body.
Not likely as I'm assuming the chassis is different from the SCX10 chassis I'm using and I don't have a Traxxas chassis to design around.
Idea is great. I have one doubt- unneeded stress on servo.
Why do you consider it "unneeded" stress? They will lift the truck off the ground and set it back down like I wanted so I consider that needed. Same stress as say, a servo on a plane that fights wind resistance to steer
@@FullThrottleRC if I see correctly - suspension is connected to the same arm as a servo (kinda triangle arm) so whenever suspension will work it will be transferred to the servo. If so - in case of jump (or wheels will hit something) stress will be transferred to the servo.
@@vadimkvak1751 I see. This truck will definitely not be jumping or have any sort or stress like that tho. Just normal cruising driving. The worst it'll see is possibly running over a pebble. Maybe😂😂 That's why I compared the stress the servo will see to that of an airplane rudder servo. Like a plane servo encounters stress from the air resistance, the only stress these servos will see is the weight of holding the truck up to cruise over a smooth surface.
@@FullThrottleRC aha, ok. In any case idea and low-cost realization is great.
More expensive solution will be use linear actuators to lift chassis
@@vadimkvak1751 oh yea that would be pretty interesting to design! I actually thought of hydraulics as well but went with servos for simplicity
y'all didn't get snow down there did you? could run the sand drag truck
No snow, although I was hoping for some!! I had everything ready to try to make some snow ramps for the LMT or XMaxx!!
thats so cool to see!!! im doing something similar but with a different chassis. What scale is this 1/10?
mine is 1/24th size
Thank you!! Yep it's 1/10 scale. Based off of a SCX10 chassis.
Awesome. Is the resin durable enough.
Since editing this video I've been able to print some parts with the abs like resin and it feels a lot stronger. Not as brittle as the standard resin. I'm feeling pretty confident with the research I've done and now feeling it myself that it'll be durable enough for the purpose of this build.
🔥💯💪🏾
😁
check out videos about tempering ABS parts in salt, it makes them much stronger.
Didn't know about that. I'll check it out, thanks!!
If i figured out how to setup my reAr suspension could i pay you for the front ifs suspension pieces
I'm currently not selling this design. I hope to have an entire chassis available in the future but that may be a few months out.
Halo man!!! Do you have stl?
I will not be releasing stls of this design as I plan to release a full final chassis in the future.
Are there files available for the custom printed suspension parts
Not as of now. Being that I had to cut up and weld the rear end of the chassis, I think I want to find a way for others to build even if they don't have capabilities for welding before I'd make the parts available. I want everything to be complete if I'm going to share these files
@@FullThrottleRC that is ok I just wanted the front ifs suspension pieces
If you decide to sale those parts please let me know. I would love to build one. Just don't have a 3d printer
I don't see this as something that I'll be producing to sell. Just a fun project I wanted to take on.
So, this is really, really bad!! Now I need to build myself something like this!! Yes, please show us how to use Fusion360!!
Hahaha thanks! I know there have been a bunch of similar builds out there, just wanted to try it myself!!
Ya man. Looks like a sick build. would love to see all the progress of this build 4sure. Would love for you if and when you get the time to check out my 1/24 81 Olds Cutlass scale RC build @ Dirty D's RC and let me know what you think. It is on a bit of a hiatus right now since my computer died, moved a bunch of times and other life things have come up that I had to attend to. I do have another vid of it on my memory card waiting to be edited into a video once I get my new computer in the new year and plan to finish up the build. Hope you enjoy the progress so far.
Thanks!! Hope all goes well and good luck with your build!
Hey can you make us a custom 1970 Pontiac Bonneville 1/10 rc body for my chassis, if can please leave info for me to follow, asap and many more builds to come if can thanks ....
Unfortunately I do not make rc bodies. I would have loved to make something a little different for this build but that's a little out of my capabilities at this time.
i designed a system like that before, whats your instagram ill send you photos
My Instagram is the same as my channel name.
