    Suburban Acreage did it with Milo and Kentucky 31 and didn't look to bad.

    Hey Mr. Ferguson, take some cloth and stretch it on something, spread the mixture over it and it’ll dry up quickly. Now all moisture goes down and has no ventilation underneath.
    I mixed pregerminated soggy seed with Millorganate and it absorbed most of the moisture.

      I mentioned that with the tarp...but didn't wanna do all that. I can't remember if I left that in the video or not. I was afraid if it dried while I was away, it could blow around and didn't want all that.

    Thanks, I get as much out of this as most others on YT. Appreciate you putting this on, it helps me learn. Interested to see what it looks like in May/June. Good luck I'll be witching for the followup.

      @@MrFergusonLawn Yeah no rain here in Md. for a month either. Just got done watering it's 80 degrees here right now. Dats Crazy. Usually, I'm just mulching all the leaves into the ground, but this has been 1 crazy year. But it has given me a chance to do some extra things and the yard is looking good again. Also keep praying for all those in Apalachchchia. A lot of great things are happening up there. Praise our Gracious God!!!!!!!!!

    You might want to wash the fertilizer off of the seeds, high concentration of fertilizer might kill the seedlings

  • @stevemunoz6439
    @stevemunoz6439 Місяць тому

    Grab some bags of topsoil compost mix. Mix it together and put it in your bad spots. (Keep in mind the fertilizer you added so you might need to go with a thin layer and be sure to add enough soil. The spots don't look that big. Hand spreading it may be a bit more work than using your spreader but you might get some benefit from the mix

    Hey Mr. Ferg! Sorry about your pregermination woes🤦🏽‍♂️ Did it successfully about a month ago for a friend that had about 5k sqft. After all the videos I watched on it, seems like the most common issues were people either waiting too long to where the seeds actually start sending roots out, or aren’t letting the seeds dry out enough before mixing with milorganite.
    Since I pregerminated fescue seed, I specifically only wanted to prime it for about 3ish days. I soaked for 24 hours. Then just rinsed the bag every 24 hours. The most important thing to remember is turning the bag multiple times during the drying out process since the water pools up on the bottom. I also placed the bag on top of the brick that I used to weigh it down on day 1. That way the seeds on the bottom weren’t soaking in the water that was draining onto the bottom of the 5 gallon bucket. I turned as frequently as every 6 hours during the day especially during the 24hrs leading up to my planned seeding day. It still left the seed slightly damp (aka it didn’t fully dry up which was good), and I easily mixed it with milorganite. A 2:1 ratio of Milo to seed (weight wise) was enough. It worked like a charm and easily spread with my Echo RB60. Spread evenly and everything. Now my friend has a thicc lawn haha. Hope that helps!

    Probably could have put screen wire over the wheel barrow lay it on it and keep moving it around

  • @AlexKunstar
    @AlexKunstar Місяць тому +2

    Its too bad it didnt work out... but if you would have used a 25lb bag of milorganite with that small 3lb bag of wet seed it would have effortlessly immediately came out the spreader. It would have easily instantly dried it out enough to spread, i think the recommended ratio is 5lbs of wet seed to 20lbs of milorganite for instant spreadability.

    • @MrFergusonLawn
      @MrFergusonLawn  Місяць тому

      That's what I'm hearing, but that's hard to believe. We will have to try it next time with fescue pre germ.

    • @AlexKunstar
      @AlexKunstar Місяць тому

      I understand your skepticism with what you just dealt with, but there's numerous videos of it being done. You can visibly see how much milo dries it out and it flowing out of the spreader with ease. The reason why milo is perfect is because it's already a slow release low nitrogen organic fertilizer. It's only a 6-4-0, and a 32lb bag only covers 2500sqft at bag rate, most people recommend 1.5x bag rate for results, meaning you can freely throw down a bunch of it even in the middle of summer without burning your lawn. All that volume, and the consistency of it acts as a sponge to the moisture around the seeds. Just try it out with 3-5lbs, or watch videos about it. I promise you it's not cgi.

  • @johnnelwhite
    @johnnelwhite Місяць тому

    Rip to the kbg. Those seeds are more than likely toast. When the dry fast release nitrogen prills touch the wet seed it will probably shock the seed like touching a electric fence.

  • @jasonfournier
    @jasonfournier Місяць тому

    That's toast. Needed to mix with something like milorganite. You risk burning your lawn. Now that it is wet, the fertilizer is starting to dissolve and you'll never dry it out into prills again.

    Bless your heart MrFerguson. idk who you watched about pregerminating seed, I sent you a vid. You soak the seed, until you ready to spread it. KBG you soak for 5 days. Then you let it drain, not dry out. While it's damp, not soaking, you mix with milorganite or biochar as a carrier to spread it.

    • @MrFergusonLawn
      @MrFergusonLawn  Місяць тому

      @@MrFergusonLawni think the conditioner soaks up too much moisture. I used 1 bag of milo with 8 lbs of seed. Worked great, didnt turn soupy or muddy at all cause milo doesnt instantly dissolve. Try again next year brother.
