A floating finish eliminates pull offs. At our local far they run a floating finish until there is several competitors pull it way out usually 350' + , then depending on the fair some will have a pull off with the top 2 or everybody that surpassed the 300ft mark. A couple years ago during a farm stock pull , the 2 big guys went last and everyone before them all stopped around 320~, and the last 2 pulled it to the fence ( 420'~) and had to let off, so they brought those 2 back, tightened the sled up and sent them again.
What is a 'floating finish'; is it where the competing truck stalls or stops before the sled reaches it's maximum distance?
