I used to listen to her songs when I was a teenager and always felt them. I am so shocked to hear that she died so young and also that she used her pain to anesthetically and acoustically render the pain. She died from diabetes and it was always in chronic pain. I read this in a article about Mark Anthony Neal's essay on her. Her voice was one of rhe few that could reach into your heart and make you feel it in your soul.
this where she really get down. Oh my god this song really does something for me, so deep. Oh please keep it coming. I'm getting a natural high. Her range in her voice is incredible. She is taking me up, she's taking me down. I'm hanging on. OOOOOWEEEEEE. I LOVE YOU LINDA!

hi everyone just had to say my comments, to let the world know i knew of Linda Jones when i was 13 i met her she was going with my cousin his name we called him was Little Robbie his full name Robert Jones and they would always be at 192 Chadwick Ave where the rest of my cousins lived. I'm going back at lot of years i was 13 i am 56yrs old now. I remember everything even went to the funeral standing room only. Beautiful woman those songs she sing is about one man and thats my cousin Robbie fine man, beautiful gray eyed man with beautiful hair, his thing was women just could'nt stick to one, Yes i seen her maybe 3 times at my family house looking for him my mom use to say she don't know why little Robbie would'nt go some where and be with just her or at least one woman. Thanks for letting me share that.
I LOVE Linda something KRAZEEE! One of my favorites! One day I was turning my friend on to Linda, when he said she sings like a man. I didn’t get at first and he explained, that it was her phrasing and rawness. I got his point and agree! Most women singers aim for a clear, sweet or pretty sound and vibe. Their lyrics are usually more intelligible than men singers and their melodies are usually more controlled and calculated. Not Linda. Her rawness and power is all over the place! That’s one of the reasons I love her so much. Also, because unlike most women singers, she mostly uses men background singers!
she is bad expressing life and feelings She'll always be in my heart I love her music every time I play her music I find myself crying the lyrics in the song all very true and Powerful Love You Linda
Linda Jones isn't off pitch nor did she over sing the song, she hit each and every note 2 it's very core, and it don't get no better then that.[LINDA JONES,AWSOME]
@86pimp3 NO i'm sorry she singing in perfect pitch and Billy brown did'nt sing the original A guy from batlimore sang it name Michael Greene sang lead on this song when he was in the Moments!!!!!!
Billy did sing the original. Mark Greene sang Not on the Outside (1968). In fact, it was an entirely different group on that record. Greene and that group fell out with Sylvia. From Sunday (1969) until Harry Ray joined the group (1971), Billy sang lead on all the hits. He would have sang If I Didn't Care, but he temporarily lost his falsetto, providing Harry with an opportunity to sing his first lead on a song.
T Jamal Graham sorry i'm just reading your post about somethings like information well for one my cuz Robert Jones the one she was with he lives on, the house no longer exist, her personality seem to be ok and out spoken. Now remember i was only 13 she was in her 20's and loved little Robbie my relative. No pictures and if there were pictures her daughter Terry Jones will have them. Linda was sick diabetics took over she gave her show and passed outon stage they wanted to stop the show she said no the show must go on. She finish singing that night. She needed a kidney they ask my sorry cousin Little Robbie he said no because a man can still live with 1 kidney but he would'nt do it and that was his girl and he knew how much she loved him.
