Wonderful to see these names!!!!! thank you!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you like them!
@@promptersbox EXCELLENT CAST, I DID SEE THE COMBINATION OF TUCKER AND MAC NEIL AT THE MET. MYSELF, THE LAST TIME I SAW THOSE TWO TOGETHER I DID ATTEND IN NYC., WAS IN "PAGLIACCI" IN JUNE 1973, TWO VERY BIG VOICES. RIP.----(TWO GREAT AMERICAN SINGERS!)
Thank you very much!
You're welcome!
@@promptersbox Tucker IMO was the greatest Spinto I ever saw in the house over 20 times, and I saw him also in his best Prime days, from first attending a performance he gave with Sutherland (as Luica) in Chicago in 1961, Tucker as Edgardo . RIP
Tucker, he is the senior singer here, here live at age 56, it is interesting to compare him here and then with his "1960" Brdcst. of the opera from the Met. when he was in his 40's , that was with Bastianini and Tebaldi, which is also on you tube also, or in the 1950's when Tucker sang it also as a young man, of course here he is older but he lasted well with fine technique, which was his foundation always RIP. Richard Tucker -----1913- 1975.
Nice early picture of Tucker here at #22:40, this was taped in the house on tape in the audience and I hear a good friend of mine (now deceased yelling bravo!!) He taped everything he could in house back then!
Mme Tucci !! Such a great artist and so underrated and little known today !! Thanks so much for everything you share and even more thanks for sharing this great soprano in an opera I had not heard her in before, and in such good company !! I keep on hoping some recording of her in "Faust" appears someday !! Bless you !!
Those are very kind words and I thank you. She was truly wonderful and is sadly underrated. I’ll keep my eyes open for the Faust!
@@promptersbox Thanks so much .. for EVERYTHING !°!!!
Tucker "Improvviso" aria at #1915, the tape speed on the original recording varies a bit, (messing with pitch) but it's very well sung..
Yes. Couldn’t correct that.
