Driven to Carroz a few times one year needed to put the chains on at the Super U at the bottom before heading up. The Gendarmes we’re stopping everyone to check they were chained up before letting you start. That was fun. We always drive, cheaper and just a nice way to get there.
Totally agree Martin. As a family with our own gear, it’s the best way in my opinion. We even drive to Andorra now..

Great video - do you remember roughly what the costs were? Fuel, crossing, tolls and parking?
crossing on euro tunnels around 160gbp, but we ended up paying most of that with Tesco vouchers in fact I think we paid 1.50 after all the vouchers were entered. Tolls around 180gbp and fuel was also about 180/200 gbp. Parking could be free if you use the outdoor carpark, but if using the Pierre Vacances parking (height restricted, but we got in ok), its 10 euros a day. so total costs of around 540gbp plus parking
Hello Mike, Just come across your videos, driving over from Devon to the Haute Savoie later this month, done it many times, however, never tried Flaine to ski. What is the parking like, then getting to the main lifts in the village, we are not stopping in Flaine, so it will just be day parking. Looking to try a few new areas as the snow is so marginal this year, Thanks.
Hey there, quite a few options for Parking. At the top just as you go over into Flaine is parking as well as some spots on route with access to certain lifts that will give you access to the whole area. Les Carroz 1500 is a good option as you can get straight on the Tete Des Saix lift, new fast six man chair lift. Plenty of Flaine videos on this channel with multiple drone shots of the region which hopefully should show the area in full. Have a great trip!

Glad it was a helpful watch. Parking very easy at Helios. The car park height clearance was high enough to fit our SUV with the roof box on. Car park fee is around 75 euros from memory. Have a great trip! 🏂⛷
