- Russia defended Iran’s missile blitz on Israel at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), saying it was in reaction to Israel’s April 1 attack on Iranian embassy in Syria. “What happened on the night of April 14 did not happen 'in a vacuum.' Iran's steps were a response to the shameful inaction of the United Nations Security Council [and] a response to Israel's blatant attack on Damascus,” Russian envoy to the United Nations said.
