Do I regret Emilie?

- In todays Genshin Impact video I discuss Emilie and if I regret her. For now I do not regret her but I definitely can see that shes not really that great. It never felt like her off field damage was really that good and made a huge impact on the team in comparison to what other characters you can bring, combine that with how she also is basically forced to be run on burn teams it really does make her feel a bit underpowered.
She's Kazuha before Inazuma (we said he was pointless because we already had Venti for grouping). She's Kuki before Sumeru (we said she was pointless because electro-charge was a fairly mid archetype and we already had strong units). Of course she's underwhelming when there is literally no other burning characters in the game. Wait until we get a forward vape DPS and a burning DPS *wink wink* Wait until we get a better off-field pyro applier *wink wink*

Wow, what a dumb take. Venti didn't work in national so Kazuha was god send. Kuki electro-charge? Like how dumb are you? OVERLOAD was a thing! Still is now with Chevereuse That did good damage before Hyperbloom.
She is a purely dps character with zero utility, and these characters have never aged well. Look at chiori who is almost the same type of character getting powercreeped by freaking Kachina in all but Itto teams.
@@jijidu69 more like albedo being power creeped. The only teams he was really used, were navias teams (because opposed to chiori he has more geo application for crystalize, em buff to forget defensive supports like healer/shielder, better er Management, and same to more damage depending on the enemy numbers). Geo characters themself don't have a lot of use cases. Chiori only had good synergy in mono geo teams (like Itto, noelle or zhongli structure) and kachina won't replace these slots from what I have seen. Kachina will only be useful in the mentioned navia teams until probably xilonen is released.
Her energy requirements without signature to burst every rotation is about 170 er (solo dendro) that's about 12 substats. her burst is a big part of her damage specially in aoe and even in single target to point where ER sand (bursting every rotation) and atk sand (bursting every other rotation) both do the same dps. Her weapon drops the ER requirements to ZERO so you put atk sand AND still burst every rotation. On top of that it still does a bit more damage than homa without looking at the ER passive. It's the biggest signature weapon damage increase in the game.
@@alaadawood5876 It does not feel like 170%, from what I’ve seen it’s generally around 140-150%. Like I said also it’s not actually guaranteed that those ER rolls go into crit or attack. While I didn’t do a good job of explaining that I’m just talking about how much damage she is doing per burst or while her e skill is up that’s mainly what I was basing it off of.
Reading the comments I realized I can't even defend Emilie because I got her signature and I feel like if I told people she is totally worth it I'd be a hypocrite- xD . I mean with that kinda setup I'm enjoying her a lot and she together with Neuvillette managed to help me through Floor 12 recently. I only had Neuvillette to carry me before but also thanks to the current Spiral Abyss buff she felt very nice to play with my Arlecchino together. I started playing in January this year so I don't have much to work with.
@@x3AnimeFanXD it depends if you want kinich from what I’ve seen she is basically joined at the hip with him. How does (I assume) a c0 r0 arlecchino work with her because mine is just better or the same without her?
@@TheGenshinIdiot eh well it's just a skill issue on my part 😂I tend to get CCed on Arlecchino a lot and all my characters are still lvl 80 I literally have only a few 5stars and none of my artifacts are fully optimized *hiding the bad substats*
Not normally a weapon banner guy but this seemed like a particularly good one so I pulled and ended up getting Emilie's. It seems like an unusually big upgrade. Even with negligible ER (I think I'm at 110?) you can burst every cycle with it. It's her best damage option by a fair amount, and I'd say a CR weapon is preferable to CD since she has CD as an ascension stat. Of course if your artifacts are good enough either way works.
@@timphiz like mine, the crit stats don’t matter at all because the only thing you are going to do is just switch the circlet depending on the weapon
Abt her weapon its not just the bonus damage its the energy it gives thats important cuz u want to use emilies burst with staff of homa u have to have some decent er stats which u don't need with her sig
This. It eliminates a lot of the clunk in her kit. People sleep on the fact that it takes like 5 seconds to get her turret back up if you need to reposition without burst
@@skoverton5553 yeah fr i mean damage wise i agree its not that far ahead but if u consider everything abt the weapon its actually such a stupid weapon on emillie and i think weapons like this will keep coming out

@@skoverton5553 Yes, the video doesn't emphasize that every time you have to refresh her skill without using her burst, you are sacrificing 2-3 hits of level 2 case, but more importantly, you lose an entire proc of her A1 passive, which requires a level 2 case.
If you can keep 100% uptime on her skill using only her burst, then Homa is perfectly fine, but if you have 140% ER, Emelie's sig weapon is like having 185% ER instead, which is about 9 substat rolls. You won't see massively higher numbers with the sig weapon, but you will see those numbers show up much more often.
About your take about her not being dependant on the burst: if you clear every fight with just 1-2 rotations then yes she doesn't need that much er. However because the burst retains her level 2 turret state it is a huge dps loss to not use the burst to refresh her turret timer (about 40% of her personal damage gets lost in the 3. rotations and can't burst in it). And if you only get by with 2 rotations it still happens that you are extending your rotation just for emilys burst which is a huge dps loss.
Therefore in a lot of cases a r5 fav can be better then the staff of homa. Especially because emily is very single target focused meaning you probably don't get a lot of energy from killing small mobs.
Personally i would not recommend the weapon because it is very nische.
@@soos.mpvier3187 I wasn’t specifically speaking about her damage but more so her application. Like how the dendro traveler has it to where he really wants his burst and if he doesn’t have it then you’re done for.
Im probably echoing a lot of what others say too, but yea its really the lack of a good F2P or decent Weapon. i still pulled for her cause im interested in Burn Vape , Burn Melt stuff but im hoping for a good budget option eventually. Shes quite good so far though!

Got aqua simulacra so guess I'm saving for natlan. On top of that I find out we're getting a 5 star selector which means I can get tighnari soon as well life is good

I used on my arle team,I usually use arle,yelan,kazuha,bennet,so I replaced yelan with her,and I celared it faster with her terrible build and lvl 60,my yelan has r2 aqua so idk if I just can't use vape or she if arle and emilie work that good together

I’m still not sure about Emilie. Do plan on getting Kinich, maybe they would work well together on a burning team…. I dunno.😅

@@LumpySpaceNinja she is barely useful honestly, I don’t use wriothesley freeze and ayaka and ganyu are also characters I would say I regret.
@@TheGenshinIdiot I was planning on using her with Wriothesley for both freeze and hyper carry/melt. Everyone says the Furina/Xiangling/Bennett team is his best (non burning melt) team but for me personally it feels bad to play because Xiangling is somehow still super energy hungry even with Furina on Favonius and not having a teamwide healer feels kind of bad for gaining fanfare stacks and keeping everyone other than Wrio’s health above 50%. Plus no shield for Wrio and no freeze means he gets knocked around a lot by aggressive enemies. Plus I like the idea of having a dedicated buffer for him so I can play Furina on other teams
@@LumpySpaceNinja you will only buff 7 hits, it’s really not that much and also furina fanfare should max easily with wriothesley always increasing and decreasing his health
