    not streaming is the best possible thing to do for this game. people absolutely cannot keep their mouth shut. at least you can avoid spoilers in comments

      @HBFT_Gaming  5 місяців тому +6

      Admittedly, I do read the comments as I am producing these episodes. There are some spoilery interactions that I become aware of as a result, but otherwise I feel that I am relatively successful at avoiding more significant spoilers. (That will become more abundantly clear when I do some questionable things because of my lack of understanding at the time)
      Thank you for joining me on this adventure!

    I agree this will be the best way for you to experience this game. The exploration and finding new things and progression is what this game is all about.

    The only player who I've seen who reads and then discovers the brain coral use. Bravo. To be honest though you lucked out on the seamoth parts being so close together.

    The whole ambience, exploration and how progression was implemented, is what makes this game so great.
    I'm really glad you kept the music on, alot of new players nowadays turn it of ... not knowing how much they are missing out.
    I have Thalassophobia and for me it's always a challenge to go deep, but in this game I push myself to do it.
    It's just soooo awesome!

      One of the best games that I have played! The music is phenomenal and driven contextually. It really keeps me going.
      If you don't mind me asking, what is it about the ocean that scares you? I am just curious so that I can relate better. I know what it feels like to be afraid of the dark where my mind says something is going to reach out to get me when I cannot see.
      Also, it says a lot that you push your limits to enjoy this game!

      @@HBFT_Gaming Kinda the same for me, just in the water. Not being able to see if anything is there.
      And you'll get to those area's.
      Also, the 4 tips I can give is:
      1) Scan / Read everything.
      2) Take your time, don't rush. Look around you carefully.
      3) You can swim faster without anything in your hand.
      4) If there is something scannable around, an icon will blink in the lower right corner of the screen.
      If you want to here a story. I can tell one of my very first experience, back in 2014.

      @@HBFT_Gaming Back in early access the devs always moved around the parts you could scan, and I was looking for the last one of the moonpool.
      I found the new coords, got there with my seamoth (was right behind the green island).
      Was hanging at 150 m with my moth (wasn't upgraded yet) and looked down into utter darkness, even the lights of the seamoth didn't help much.
      I knew I had to get down to 300 m, and was working up the courage to get out and swim down.
      Just as I was about to do that, the game crashed and my pc along with it, with a bluescreen.
      After restarting both, I noped out of getting that blueprint and went back home to my base.

    Great first episode! Thanks for sharing this. Just wanted to say that it's never a bad idea to read your PDA entries. If you're having fun doing it at this pace, don't let us commenters deter you and play the game your way. But as someone who watches a lot of these Subnautica series, I promise you none of your viewers will complain if you slow down to read in full.
    Again, thanks! Off to watch the next episode.

      Hehe comes with the territory of being brand new to a game/environment. If anything, I see it as a good thing. It means that I'm used to looking up and not looking down at my feet all the time.

      @@HBFT_Gaming If you actually bother to scan things and read the entries, then you're all set! You would be amazed how many youtubers try to blast thru without evaluating the truckloads of in-game info. Every scan tells you almost everything you need to know about any given entity. They just decide to publish Subnautica videos for easy views.

    • @HBFT_Gaming
      @HBFT_Gaming  7 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for the tip. I usually read the logs more fully offstream because they are so well written and I only have about an hour to record gameplay for the audience on UA-cam. I sometimes doubt that they want me to spend the whole hour reading the logs out loud.
      Thank you again!

      @@HBFT_Gaming It's a balance. On average, I think Subnautica viewers remember the awe and wonder, and remember the process of discovery. We like to see others experience those same feelings. Every new item crafted is a battle well fought. Every new revelation is monumental. Once you've experienced all these, you can never revert to not knowing them. But you can live vicariously through someone doing a blind playthru. When someone rushes it, or arguably worse when they accept all the hints from their chat/comments or turn immediately to google for all the answers, it robs the player of the experience - and in turn the audience of those who publish their experience. Just my 2 cents.

    • @HBFT_Gaming
      @HBFT_Gaming  7 місяців тому +2

      Thank you for your perspective. It definitely is a balance. Hopefully my playthrough will be as entertaining to others as it is for me to experience it. I have to actively stop myself from playing until it is recording time haha

    I’m currently playing again, for like the 30th time. I have 245 hours of playtime for this save. How is that possIble you ask? I am an obsessive base building farmer. I built a base in the crash zone after killing the reapers cause I need height for my base. I have a floor…. For each resource. Every single one. Each floor is 2 large rooms with wall lockers circled around every side, and the middle is large lockers. I can’t stop myself. I put scanners in every biome; pick a resource… build two cyclops each decked out with storage lockers in every possible corner. 88 in each. Load my prawn suit with dual drill arms. And away I go and stock both before returning to unload in a slLl room that I use to unpack and organize before loading them into the floors.
    And yes I do this for even the super rare resources like kyanite and magnetite. Granted I don’t have as much as the others. But my metal salvage floor is the biggest
    I also put a sign with the total number of each in the rooms. I have a problem I know but it never gets boring. Unfortunately it’s gotten to the point where I crash switching biomes and while unloading so I save like every 2 mins. I also have gotten to where my game is bugging and I fall through the floor of my base at certain points
