    From the ABC :
    "A bushfire over 80 hectares in size burning in Sydney's Northern Beaches has been downgraded by New South Wales Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) from Emergency to Advice. Firefighters with both the NSW RFS and Fire and Rescue NSW were battling the blaze, near Oxford Falls, today until it became out of control. By mid-afternoon, the fire was upgraded to an emergency warning, with the blaze burning east towards Cromer Heights. At the time, there were Fire and Rescue NSW fire trucks in attendance, with 30 firefighters assisting the NSW Rural Fire Service."

    It was a hazard reduction burn that got out of control because of the wind blowing embers and causing it to jump containment lines

    Would love to add. That the hills district send a strike teka of 5 trucks to that fire for the night shift. It’s consisted of
    Rouse hill 1
    Round corner 1
    Glenorie 1A
    Kenthurst 1A
    Kellyville 1

    Noticed that most of the RFS's fleet still has halogen rotators. I assume that's for better visibility, i.e. how the beam of the rotator is seen quite clearly in smoke?

    Do some appliances not need rego plates? Eg1:00 Terrey Hills and 6:20 do not have them.

    • @AUSEmergencyVIDSnsw
      @AUSEmergencyVIDSnsw  4 місяці тому

      After some research. Apparently if the vehicle is registered to a specific brigade it doesn’t need a rego. If it’s not registered to a specific brigade like a headquarters or support unit it will be registered with a number plate. Makes 0 sense got no idea but that’s how it works apparently bro sorry 😂

      Correct, all red fleet fire vehicles do not have number plates, but do get a pink slip every year. White fleet and Mitigation vehicles have number plates.

      Sikorsky S-61N. Over from Canada for the fire season. It’s a national asset so will be moved around a lot. It’s never been here before

      Bush fire greater than 10th alarm

    • @AUSEmergencyVIDSnsw
      @AUSEmergencyVIDSnsw  4 місяці тому +1

      What Clinton said! But because this started from a hazard reduction. There was already tonnes of trucks there. So if this was in frnsw area and frnsw took command they would’ve sent as much as rfs. But there’s no point with that many tankers there!

    • @0ne-6right40
      @0ne-6right40 4 місяці тому +1

      @@AUSEmergencyVIDSnsw that makes sense - CT36 and BT50 are the only two FRNSW tankers on the North Shore. I don’t understand why they started a hazard reduction on a particularly windy and dry day though?
