I recently road my bike along side of a Northern Harrier Hawk. White rump patch was evident. What a expert flyer! coming within 1" of the levy road as it crossed in front of me several times. It seemed to be utilizing me as a prey distractor. I rode parallel with it for several minutes. My new favorite hawk, now that I know what it is. Northern California, bay and marsh area.

Thank you for this educative video! Watched it several times. I have a passion for raptors, especialy for bald eagles, ospreys and golden eagles. These eagles have settled in my country, the Netherlands, for the last years. As you see, you also have reached the Netherlands with you video. Thnak you, once again!

is summer a good time to visit Hawk Mountain for birding?

Summer may be good for songbirds and other animal activity, but we only see raptor migration during the fall and spring, mostly so in the fall. Our fall migration starts august 15!
