We were far to passive yet again. RLB got the system wrong again at home against a team in poor form., By not playing Mayender from the start, who can brake the lines with his pace was a huge mistake.
Losing Jobe surely gave us the chance to play LeFee in central midfield. We were poor today especially in midfield and on some ways lucky to get a draw, albeit with two bad misses at the end.
Mayenda had quite an impact and clearly has an understanding with Isodor. How Poveda got on before him is beyond me, though he tried to be positive I guess .
We are quick to criticise Sunderland dropping points but they have gained 16 points from losing positions. That point is never made always about dropping points.
Good performance from Watford and we did well to rescue a point. Instead of starting at a high tempo and imposing ourselves on the opposition we wait to see what they are about. This is a recurring theme. It's a deliberate strategy. It's a mistake. We give the opposition a platform to build off and it's then difficult to up the tempo. We were disjointed again. It's to early to have a true opinion of Samed but his remit doesn't appear to include taking the ball off the back four. Not expecting defense spliters from the lad but tidy on the ball and making quick decisions to at least move the ball simply and quickly are surely a requirement in this role. He wasn't helped by Jobe being out and Rigg being out of sorts. He needs time to settle but if shielding the defence is his only quality he's not what we need.
Here's some questions for you lads and the fans, where is Chris Riggs best position? Alright, Jobe wasn't playing today so why wasn't Enzo Le Fee given the opportunity to play more centrally? Why were two defensive midfielders, Neil and Samed playing at the same time? Did Le Bris get it wrong today?
Sunderland were brilliant at passing to Watford. I doubt any other team in the Championship could have passed it to the opposition as well as Sunderland did today. In that department they were a 10.
Maybe if we were more attack minded from the start, then we wouldn't have to fight back like that. Using defensive minded tactics at home considering where we are, is absolutely ridiculous. Just go for it, play 442, put mayender alongside isodor, give the lad some help. This will be the difference between autos and play off failure imo, and that's on the manager for being negative
Plymouth got spanked 5-0 by Burnley who rarely score goals and shocked the SoL. Watford came into the game today in terrible form and looked the better side and up for it. It has to be a character thing with players who don't like it when it gets tough. Same people who put in toss performances like Swansea at home a couple of seasons ago, Blackburn at home last season, now Plymouth and Watford at home this season. Those same players in a 3 year spell have routinely gone hiding when we've needed them the most.
Great summing up Phil Watford were better but we could have nicked it. Missed Jobe, Rigg needs resting he doesn't look like he has any strength, he is just a kid its too much for him. Think its going to be the lottery of playoffs which is not what we want. Luton will be physical which will be very hard
I think we should have gone two up top le fee central and and young Rigg needs a rest. We did miss Jobe but for me Le Bris needs to be more ambitious at home or it is the play offs for sure, which by the way we would have taken……

Very true, it’s easy to get frustrated as we’re so close to matching the parachute teams but it’s important to realise how well we’ve done
