37:47 fun fact about jennie she was shooting that xx with g dragon in 2012 and was only 16 ...... She was very shy back then and didn't want face any cameras G dragon predicted her future back then by saying one day All the cameras will always follow her he was the first person who believed in Jennie.. g dragon is basically the king of kpop all the new groups look up to him especially bts they are heavily influenced by his music... Gd could have choosen any famous female singer but he choose the voice of Jennie a rookie who at that time wasn't even selected as a artist under yg .. and it came as a shock to the whole industry he even said called jennie the ace of yg entertainment ...
Each member of a Kpop group has an assigned position that’s made by the company based on their skills. Main Vocals = Best Vocalist Lead Vocals = Second Best Vocalist Main Rapper = Best Rapper Lead Rapper = Second Best Rapper Main Dancer = Best dancer Lead Dancer = Second Best Dancer Center = Member that’s in the center of the group in performances, photos, etc. Visual = Best looking-wise according to the Korean Beauty Standards / Normally most promoted in photo shoots. When they were trainees, each of the girls were evaluated on their skills which is how they got their assigned positions. Lisa: Main Dancer/Lead Rapper Rosé: Main Vocal/Lead Dancer Jennie: Main Rapper/Lead Vocal Jisoo: Visual/Lead Vocal
Rookie Jennie was amazing, did u know that? Jennie was a mentor who sat next to Yang Hyun Suk the ceo of yg entertainment as a special judge to judge the group of children who entered JTBC's MIXNINE contest in 2017, her outstanding talent, her speech and skills, it was clear that she was born to be a star 🌟
JISOO = I would say Jisoo is the most down-to-earth and compatible with all the members. She quite emotionally supportive to Jennie but can also be very light-hearted and carefree when it comes to her interactions with Rosé and Lisa. Jisoo is usually the mood-setter of the group, and she always seems to bring a positive atmosphere within the members - or at least tries. She is not afraid to laugh and let her weird side show, and she enjoys teasing Lisa a lot. I view Jisoo as a very kind person, who is always trying to try her best despite things usually being a lot more difficult for her. For example, BLACKPINK’s popularity in the West means that the members have to speak a lot of English. Unlike her other members, Jisoo was born and raised in Korea so she has to make an extra effort to learn the language, which is a challenge she tackles with a smile. To me, Jisoo strives for harmony within the group and is always looking to improve herself. Being the oldest, she also exhibits a lot of motherly traits towards the others and tries to be helpful when needed. Jisoo is smart and quick-witted, and she enjoys poking fun at the other members with her witty humor. I think that Jisoo quite mentally strong and a giver as she isn’t very open with her own personal problems and she is the only BLACKPINK member that has never publicly cried. She is polite and has a pleasant vibe which is why I think she’s able to connect with other idols outside or BLACKPINK and make friends quickly. JENNIE = Arguably, Jennie is the most sensitive and delicate member. She is shy, quiet and reserved upon first meeting, I think she’s an introvert. Jennie is a woman of little words, and rarely has a lot to say. However, as time passes, and in more comfortable setting, one can see that Jennie is actually quite snarky. But, this is just her sense of humor, she likes to be sarcastic and has that deadpan way of teasing her members. She is also surprisingly a very competitive person and always wants to win in games. Jennie is interested in fashion and spends a lot of her free time shopping. Also, she seems fragile despite her somewhat initial coldness and RBF. I think she can be quite emotional and gets easily exhausted as she isn’t the type of person that has a lot of energy. She is a listener, and always listens intently to her members worries or issues. Although, I think that she needs space at times and enjoys taking a bit of a breather alone. Overall, Jennie can be timid and isolated, but when in the presence of her friends she is very snide and coy in her humor which makes her a bit of a badass in all honesty. ROSE= Rosé is a sweet, good-natured and caring person. She is very soft-hearted and as result, usually gets upset over minor incidents. She seems to feel things quite heavily and can cry easily. I think deep down Rosé is just a sensitive well-intentioned person who doesn’t ask for much and doesn’t expect much in return. She is extremely passionate about her music and this is very evident as she plays a lot of instruments and spends her free time writing lyrics or in the studio. Rosé is thoughtful of the people that she loves, and puts effort into her gifts to them. She has a strong bond with Lisa, and regards her as a twin sister. Together, the two often get into trouble and laugh a lot. Rosé always remembers her roots and the hardships she endured learning to live abroad, as she was born and spent her childhood in Australia. She struggled a lot before learning to adapt to living by herself, as she seems quite family-orientated. She has a silly, goofy side that is most prominent when with Lisa. Rosé can be somewhat aloof and cheesy in her sense of humor. Rosé appears to be well-liked by her peers for her talents and nice manners. She is a perfectionist and always gives her best in performances, even refusing to stop performing at the Lotte Family Concert when the group experienced technical difficulties. Rosé is a professional on stage and tries her hardest despite often being disregarded by fans. LISA= Finally, Lisa is extroverted, bold and charismatic. She is quite flirtatious and unafraid to compliment those around her. She is extremely energetic and loves to prank and tease her members. Lisa loves to laugh and has an infectious energy to her. She is always bright and optimistic and can be very loud. Lisa is affectionate to her members and engages in a lot of skinship. She possesses a lot of swagger and is viewed as a very cool girl by just about everyone. She can be shy at big award shows or events, but generally she’s quite a bubbly and happy person. Lisa is tomboyish in nature and thus, has a lot of male friends. She enjoys annoying, nagging and mocking her members, and always succeeds in putting them in good spirits. Lisa is also very humble and always makes sure to thank the person if she’s receiving compliments. She is a vivid storyteller and an overall curious person, who is constantly asking questions about the world. Lisa always tries to have fun and usually makes it fun for the people around her
2ne1 disbanded in 2016 the same time when yg announced about their new gg Blackpink It's been six years now but yeah they did reunited for once to perform at coachella for their fans last year 😊
2:19 Blackpink members have made countless world records as a group but they're also extremely successful as soloist to the point where I can say that blackpink is the only group in which are the members have successful solo career's Each member has surpassed 10 million monthly listeners individually ( the only group in kpop to do so) Both jennie and Lisa have surpassed more than 25 million monthly listeners ( Lisa did this with a album and proper comeback) both jennie and Lisa are most streamed kpop artists on Spotify and Jennie on UA-cam too Right now Jungkook from bts and Jennie from blackpink have the highest monthly listeners in kpop surpassing their respective groups for the first time in kpop history ( Jennie with only 3 songs and no Album) These records are limited to kpop (Jennie also holds and broke some major records globally which no one has made yet ) Jennie Kim holds the record to hit 1 million subscribers on UA-cam. In less than 7 hours, this happened on 13 January 2021 Till this day no one has been able to break her record :) Jennie also became the fastest person to sold-out ... she sold out her new Calvin Klein collection in" one second" surpassing the Beatles Paul McCartney this year and now holds the guinness world of fastest person to sellout her collection in history This is why all brands want her she's a human magnet for brands anything she touches or even looks at gets sold out in seconds .... Hope you'll react to their vlogs each member has their own UA-cam channel 😇
5:25 The best position for an idol is the position that the idol and company feels most confident and competent in. You wouldn’t want the prestigious role of ‘Main Vocal’ or 'Main rapper'if you know you’re not great at vocals and much better at rapping. Hence rosé and Jennie have the main vocal and rapping positions in the group Of course, the most admired roles are ‘Leader’, ‘Centre’, ‘Main’ & the face of the group as they take on a leadership role and appear more important face of the group and center is jennie - face of the group is the one who embodies the concept the most and usually is the most eye-catching and impactful member of the group BLACKPINK does not have a leader, quite unusual from the rest of the K-pop group YG asked Jennie to be the leader for BLACKPINK since she trained for the longest time which was 6 years. Jennie rejected though because she wanted all of them to be equal in roles. Lisa has a background in dance, has the passion for dancing, and has been dancing since she was a child. She is the main dancer because her dance skills compared to other members are better in the sense that it main talent and undoubtedly she Is the best female dancer in kpop It’s arguable that given roles such as ‘Visual’ a not so important. For example, giving Jisoo Kim the role of ‘Visual’ when it’s arguable that Jennie is considered more pretty Jisoo holds the main visual position as her features are stereotypically Korean but at the same time what’s the use of holding the title ‘Visual’. As it overshadowes her other talents such as being a great vocalist , Actress and a songwriter Hope this will clear your doubts 😇
Love her or hate her but everyone knows her Such a perfect way to describe my biasJennie The mystery girl of yg entertainment to being the most hated kpop idol & now being listed as the most influential kpop idol in 2023 & today becoming the kpop female act with most monthly surpassing blackpink & new jeans and ygs new girl group's solo debut with just three songs to her name such an icon. Kpop Will never have someone like jennie again
The girls have always been under yg entertainment they signed with Interscope Records in a global partnership with YG Entertainment; they were to be represented by Interscope and Universal Music Group outside of Asia. Just like hybe did with bts and seventeen to expand their brand outside asia
24:30 In yg entertainment the main rappers are the leaders and face of the group and they mostly leads the interviews and any type of message regarding their group activities is conveyed through her or yg himself ( being the primary face of blackpink she gets alot of hate because for global fans yg is a faceless company that can't be attacked)... Spokesperson of groups in kpop go through special training sessions.... Jennie has received the worst type of hate train which no idol in kpop has ever seen and she got labeled as the villain of kpop .. 2018-2021 were the worst years for Jennie and us fans .... There's a documentary named as Jennie the villan of Kpop or why doesn't Jennie smile in front of the camera now you should react/watch these videos..... To understand the situation a bit better :)
Armyblink here I'm so proud of these lovley ladies.💜❤️❤️ Yes kpop is a different experience it's so more than just music We've spent countless night's without sleeping just to make sure that we save that no 1 spot for these angles ..... You should react to more of their behind the scene stuff I'm sure you'll fall in love with their personalities....
JENNIE claimed the top spot as the MOST SEARCHED female idol on Google USA 🇺🇸 during the first half of 2023, solidifying her position as the highest-ranking member of BLACKPINK in both Japan and South Korea!
When it comes to the development of the K-pop music industry, YG Entertainment does a great job with their K-pop trainee system in South Korea that audition members to work under the entertainment agency as students or trainees. Soon they become seasoned enough to create their debut acts and that is how BLACKPINK also performed their first recording. Explaining the title of the girl group, the label company YG Entertainment said that the name intends to depict that this girl group does only embody beauty and music but a lot more than that. They said, “The meaning of BLACKPINK aims to contradict the common perception of the color pink”. Breaking the stereotypes, they said, “Pink is commonly used to portray prettiness, but BLACKPINK actually means to say that ‘Pretty isn’t everything.’ It also symbolizes that they are a team that encompasses not only beauty but also great talent.”
2ne1 was a group of four girls In 2016 yg announced the disbandment of the group because of Minzys departure... Cl and dara remained singed as solo artists under yg entertainment because they had solo stuff too Bom was released from her contract.... Cl is still active but we don't have any news on other members
i am the one who stan blackpink since debut ..for what i can say ..i"m just so proud of them ..This is the first idol that i praised and being hardcore fans...there is something special about blackpink that i cant describe ..Blackpink is truly Revolution ..Anyways i loved your reaction...hope you can do another blackpink Reaction
38:39 rosé and jisoo are the most girly members of the group they mostly represent the pink side of the group which is cute & feminine tho jisoo can be savage sometimes Lisa is the tomboy of the group style wise... She's a great dancer and her personality attracts alot of people she's the crackhead of the group along with jisoo😅 Jennie is the only member who represents the exact meaning of Blackpink she is what yg artists are like ... In every yg group there's a member who represents what yg is all about Jennie's 38:40 stage & off stage personalites are completely different she's the sassy & savage but also the cutest member she's an introvert
A group that started their first world tour after performing at Coachella in 2019 is a very big thing The peak was their beginning Misogyny in Korea is very common this year blackpink were to perform at the white house invited by the joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden herself that too for six times Korea's National Security Council failed to relay this request to Yook Suk Yeol, creating potential cause for discourse between the U.S. and South Korea less than a month ahead of the state visit And few days after this incident he was found saying that blackpink are women no one will remember them bts should go instead...... And next week yg dropped another bomb on Korean media blackpink became the first ever Korean artists to headline Coachella Last year Coachella founder Paul Tollett reportedly traveled to South Koea to personally invite Blackpink to headline this years stage and in the born pink memory videos he was filmed saying that blackpink is bigger and more talented than than anyone else Rn ..... This shows that how far they have came ..... Everyone always paints yg as the bad guy YG is definitely not a good person, but he’s not necessarily an evil person like most fans say he is. He’s done some good things in the past, but some people has forgot about them..... There's a reason why blackpink is the biggest Korean band globally and why yg is the richest CEO in Korea ..... He knows this industry too well he was also a idol and member of a Korean boy band.... One thing I love about yg entertainment is he never let's blackpink look down on in this sexist and misogynist industry & always reminds people that blackpink is the real business
When pinkpunk (now known as blackpink) was in the making it had 9 members Jennie said she tried to make a group by taking charge as yg was constantly delaying their debut she was the leader of pinkpunk in 2012 The group was built around Jennie in the Netflix documentary she said I saw hundreds of contestants leaving the building and sadly all of her friends were eliminated too When she was given the opportunity to be the leader of bp she denied the offer saying everyone deserves to shine equally Back then she was the monster trainee of yg people saw contestants crying and coming out of the building because yg made them compete with her 😂 she's still the most famous trainee yg entertainment has ever seen
In kpop the positions are given based upon the versatility, technique and aura of the artist Main is considered as the best then comes lead and followed by sub
Thanks we appreciate you watching our videos. Brittany is working and going to college full time right now. Unfortunately she doesn’t have the free time to help us out right now. Hopefully when she finishes her online courses she can do more videos with us again.
Even collab are good strategies, but it will only works if the other artists are willing to collab. There is a also big difference between you asking them for a collab and they asking you for collab. In an interview, Dua Lipa herself said that she was the one that ask BLACKPINK for collab because her friend told her that they are having a concert in Newton where she is at. In FaceTime video with BLACKPINK, Selena Gomez was being fangirl for BLACKPINK. Also in an interview, Cardi B admitted that she stopped her current plan to do a collab with BLACKPINK. As for Will Smith, he met them when they were trainees and then reunited with them at Coachella 2019 with Jaden Smith giving them a shoutout. 😃
I looked through the comments and did not see anyone mention this, so I will try to cover it. 2NE1 - They are a second generation Girl Group from YG They had their own set of problems which is why they are not a current GG today. They have to sneak around rules to be seen as a performing group. all 4 girls are in different management companies as of now, none are with YG. CL - Leader of the group is doing well as a soloist, and every time she gets a chance, she invites the other girls to take the stage with her and perform without their management companies knowledge. 2015 MAMA Awards show was the first time, and the last time was 2022 Coachella. Dara - is a TV talk show host Minzy - is a soloist, but not making waves in a big pool of artist Bom - is also a soloist, and not making waves in the same pool. 2NE1 was formed in 2009 and by 2012, in the height of their musical carriers, Bom is accused of a drug smuggling scandal, and the group stops all activities. YG has never dealt with scandals well, and used the only weapon he knows. New Girl Group rumors, Side note, BlackPink contracts are done in a month from today, YG again used this same tactic, New Girl Group - BabyMonster. So we all hope BlackPink signs a new contract, or atleast stays together some how, as BabyMonster is confirmed and should do well. so between 2013-2015 2NE1 does not do much, and thus the solo projects are a success, CL is performing her solo songs at the end of the year MAMA awards, but during her show, she tells everyone she will use the main stage elevator to drop below the stage for a costume change. what happens next, Dara, Minzy and Bom one by one pop up on the front stage using separate elevators and CL is last to re-appear. and they tear the roof off this arena as the fans go nuts, first time seeing 2NE1 LIVE in over 2 years. they sing 2 songs and leave. The over all feed back was crazy, but not big enough for YG to produce another album. Minzy leaves the group first in 2016, 2NE1 release there last song, "Goodbye" as a trio. CL was invited to perform at Coachella in 2022, and she again does the same disappear/ re-appear on stage with 2NE1. fans go crazy as usual. but this may be the last time all 4 girls take the stage together. it was an electric show to watch, both the 2015 and the 2022 shows. My take, if you want to see what 2NE1 was about, this is a great idea, they put out some solid songs, and their stage performances are great, CL is a great performer. but just know, like I said, they are not a current GG today. 11:35 you brought up a question, and it does sound crazy, but BlackPink has answered this over the many interviews and recording of them talking. all 4 girls are very humble and down to earth. I was to say it was Jisoo or Lisa who said it. But they know they are at the top now, and they are trying to not let it get to them. They are living there best lives, living in the moments, they interact with fans better than many artist. you can see it on there faces when they perform Live on stage, always acknowledging them. But it was also said, they know they are at the top, but they will not be here for ever, someone will take the spot away from them, and they are waiting for this to happen. They are very aware of there situation and not letting it get to there heads.
I forgot this last part, you guys have reacted to enough KPOP to understand I think. But the YG company has a legit fight against the end of year award shows, especially MAMA. it started with Big Bang G-Dragon when he was performing at the 2014 MAMA, he open his set with a Rap verse which accused MAMA giving awards to all artist evenly, and not giving awards to groups who deserve them. up until this point, Big Bang and 2NE1 have received a few MAMA awards, and BlackPink debute was 2016. This would be the only year BP would received an award as rookies. The next year BlackPink was nominated in 2017 but the pictures shown on the MAMA screen, the faces were blurred out in red. that same year, GD was suppose to win, the votes were showing him recieving 61+% of the votes, but when the award was given, it was not to GD. YG made a statement say all YG artist will not attend the MAMA, and thus no YG artist have received awards as they only awards artist who make an appearance. So for the next few years, the GD rap was repeated by the fans to show disapproval. it gets crazier, BlackPink held a concert in Japan (2019) the exact same day the MAMA was being held, in Japan. MAMA pulled all the stops out, invited BTS, TWICE, MAMAMOO, GOT7, ITZY and TXT to name a few artist to perform, and BlackPink still had the Tokyo Dome packed 55,000 attendance, sold out show. everyone thought the BlackPink concert would flop but it did the opposite, the BP fandom grew.
38:09 now she has #1 brand reputation value 30 months straight the most for any male or female kpop artist or any group in kpop history Just jennie things 😁🎀
Such a great day in blinkcity today All four of them finally renewed as black pink Jennie finally brokeup with a man child🤡 Yg still in prison The earth is finally healing 😂
20:40 Yg don't let Blackpink attend award shows shows is because Back in 2017, Mama even blurred BLACKPINK's faces with red color during a award show .... ( Covering face with red color means death in Korea) Next year yg entertainment held a concert at Tokyo dome the same night as the award show ... And to everyone's surprise blackpink pulled 60k as rookies with only one year experience... that night and the dome was sold out ..... The award show was half empty because artists decided to attend the Tokyo dome concert MAMA is just rude. They misspelled idols’ names, such as Jackson Wang and even changed Day6’s name to “Day8”. G-Dragon even dissed his own performance because of the mistreatment. EXO members cried on stage because they thought they were never going to win the awards. MAMA just uses BLACKPINK as clout so BLINKs would participate and buy tickets to attend the shows. BLACKPINK obviously knows about this and even hosted concerts on the days that MAMA takes place Biggest flex in K-Pop history is BLACKPINK having a concert in Tokyo Dome and sold out much, much more tickets than MAMA did...... YG DOESN'T PLAY WHEN SOMEONE DISRESPECTS THEIR ARTISTS .....
Rosé is the most musically inclined in the group. She sings different genres and can play different instruments as well like guitar, piano & a bit of drums. Check out her cover songs here on youtube like Eyes Closed, The Only Exception, Fix You, Viva La Vida & a lot more.
@@drianna014 lisa can write compose amd sing rap and play piano ukele. Her solo might not be sooo deep meaningfjl but u have to understand that it's just her first song. Writing a break up song for 1 song doesn't make rosé more musically inclined than others. Because lisa wrote many like that
Yes collabs help them in popularity but the thing which made them more popular is their different music, production, visuals, sets.....and too much....❤
im Blackjack before (2NE1 Fandom) , so its sadly that 2NE1 already disbanded before blackpink debut i think.. i remember getting heartbreak when i read their annoucement for the disbandment, but all of their members have their solo carier right now, and looks like its what theyve been wanting for a long time,, so i just feel happy and rooting for each of them
I recently joined the fandom it's fascinating how they became an overnight sensation ... I really wanna know more about these girls but there's little to no information about their trainee days or how the group was formed & Jennie's family like there's nothing on her .... It makes me curious about their history & how they all got together
Just being a trainee in KPOP industry is hard especially if you audition under big companies like YG,SM & JYP but since I'm YG stan we have knowledge now how they trained their artists since YG held a survival show before they debut their boygroups & recently they showed us how they made BABY MONSTER it's not that brutal for their girl groups but they talented tho their boygroups have faced lots of challenged of course you can see how hard for them knowing YG trained lots of famous artists in the industry who has strong aura & stage presence
25:18 i understand your point but yg holds back black pink a bit too much as for their boy groups they release music just like any normal group does The guy with the red cap is absolutely right jennie probably cried after the live because it truly felt like the group is disbanding their hiatuses are ridiculously long and for a seven year old group them having only 13 mvs their discography is fcked up And their own solo careers are stake one of the major reasons the fandom is divided into 4 groups strictly associated with each girl and they really dont give a fck about the others The same drama happened with their contract renewal The girls did sign up with yg as a groups and some of em as soloists too possibly rosie and jisoo , Lisa negotiating with a international agency which made yg stocks fall for about 24% I may sound like a hater but i think rosie lisa and jisoo can't fully survive on their own they are extremely talented and rosie seems to be the most passionate about making music like she genuinely respects the art she makes But these three girls need a strong company to keep their solo careers stable Jennie on the other hand opened her own COMPANY today and officially became a ceo all the yg staff left yg to be in her company 54% of ygs stock fell as soon as she announced her own agency Jennie knows how to lead and dominate as THE Weeknd said no one understands the industry better than jennie honestly her real journey will start now WELL THIS WAS MY HONEST OPINION AND FACTS ABOUT THE GROUP AND MEMBERS
@@Kora440 I'm so done with y'all Firstly I said they all are extremely talented & have so much potential but chaelisoo might need a big label To manage them because believe it or not they can't lead a company at least not right now 2) I was talking about their solo careers & not black pink you can disagree with me but people who achieve greatness take calculated risks and Jennie is known for taking risks she's the first member to do things and others follow her footsteps now I won't use the phrase paved the way because I believe that everyone works hard for the things they receive but we cannot just ignore the sacrifices which she made for the girls and black pink itself I don't think you understand how big it is to be a 27 year old women to open her own label in kpop which is a male dominated industry and going against YG entertainment who's known for destroying their artists careers as soon as they leave the company Just imagine how much confidence she has in herself despite being the most hated kpop artist YG is a businessman and probably knows what she's capable of which is the only reason he has been holding her back but now she's free And she just dropped a Christmas cover from her own recording room and it's her first day😂 This is just the beginning
@11:50 No man, 5 Guiness World records is just only one song 'How you like that'. Right now they're collecting 20+ (still going). Noted Lisa alone earned 7 of those records (for just 2songs).
Which guide? The only ones we found were TikTok collages of them doing random stuff as individuals or as a group. None of them were documentary style videos teaching newbies about the history of the group and individual members. If you have a link to a guide like this can you share it with us? Thanks 😊
@@TripTipsPodcast there's actually a guide called the ultimate guide of BLACKPINK 2023 VERSION, in form of a fan-made video, but just very recently the owner decides to make it as a private content for an unknown reason, well probably they wanna make a better edit so they chose to take it down for a moment and later on they'll change it into the better one who knows There's also the previous versions in term of a fan-made guide, like the one from 2022, but it ain't as good/updated like the one in 2023 But again, it's up to you guys honestly, you could take the one from 2022 or even the older ones, but you could also wait for the updated 2023 version around days/weeks from now on But in the meantime, you guys could also watch BLACKPINK official documentary as well (titled as BLACKPINK LIGHT UP THE SKY), though it's not available on youtube, but you guys could still watch it fully on a platform where it's firstly being premiered, take some notes and surely you guys would learn a lot rather than what you guys could get from any fan-made guide
Just to help you guys out a bit since the video you guys watched also mentioned other groups and things such as generations. There’s usually 6-7 yrs gap between each generations. 1st Gen : 1996 - 2003 - Pioneer Era 2nd Gen : 2003 - 2009 - Golden Era/Hallyu Wave 3rd Gen : 2010 - 2016 - Digital Era 4th Gen : 2017 - 2023 / 2024 (?) Just a bit more info, the “Godfather” of Kpop is a group called “SeoTaiji and Boys”, although that is the case they were never considered to be a part of the 1st Generation as they were active way before the term Kpop was even a thing but the reason why they’re called the “Godfather of Kpop” is cause they were the first ones to introduce the concept of singing, dancing and do the type of music that closely resembled what Kpop is today to Korea, there were no such thing as idol groups when Seo Taiji and Boys were active. Thanks to them a handful of groups were created afterwards which became known as the 1st Generation and then the term Kpop was created. Also as it was shown in the video you guys watched, each generation usually have top 3-5 girl group and boy group that are representative of that generation or more easily say the top groups of their generation. That’s also usually how it’d be easy to tell when a generation begins and ends is with the changes of the top groups. 1st Gen girl groups : S.E.S, FinK.L and Baby V.OX 2nd Gen girl groups : Wonder Girls, KARA, SNSD, 2NE1 and T-ARA 3rd Gen girl groups : Red Velvet, Twice, BLACKPINK
@@TripTipsPodcast no problem, started listening to Kpop about 16+ yrs ago now so it be rude of me if I didn’t learn its history. It takes a while to absorb all of this in as it’s a lot but you have to think of it as something new and nothing like you’ve ever seen before, no other industry is like Kpop. Kpop is so systematic and calculated that it’s one of the reasons why it is what it is, they provide various training / lessons, singing, dancing, language, etc. they also teach these idols how to deal with fame and fans, most big companies also have in-house therapist, this is very important because companies take this into factor when they’re creating a group, things like MBTI or personality test to know which ones would get along when put in a group. The more I learned about Kpop the more fascinating it is. Also a bit more fun fact the company owner of YG Entertainment which created BIGBANG, 2NE1, BLACKPINK etc. was a member of the “Godfather of Kpop” SeoTaiji and Boys.
@@TripTipsPodcast haha appreciate it, if you want to get to know the top groups of each generation just to know how Kpop has evolved and how different it is now I could give you a list or I could just recommend you groups in general to discover, whether it’s a top group or not. Kpop has variety of colors and different groups all have different concepts so it’s never really boring. Also if you really want to dive in deeper into these groups I suggest you guys start watching their variety / reality shows which are usually on their channel nowadays, that is of course if you guys are serious about getting into Kpop. These shows follow the groups in their daily lives, most show their dorm life and how they are “off-camera” while in other shows they do various things, games, challenges etc. many people like seeing new people who have never seen or heard of Kpop watch these type of shows as no other singers everywhere else do these.
What Jennie actually wanted to say is 24:14 translation That fu**er yg made me say this guys the music is ready but he's making me say all these things so that he doesn't get any hate 🤡he only cares about money so you better stream our songs for him

Their ongoing ‘Born Pink’ world tour set a new record by selling over 1 million tickets. BLACKPINK is the first all-female Asian act to achieve this milestone, which is a testament to their popularity and the global appeal of K-pop. According to Touring Data, BLACKPINK sold over 1 million tickets across 44 shows. The tour is still ongoing and blackpink has joined Taylor swift and Beyonce to have the most number of sold out shows by any other artist ..... They are young, talented, beautiful and handled by the best company in business.... As Jennie said this is just the beginning ... .people who believe that this is their peak are highly mistaken they'll be 10 times more bigger than this
Happy to hear about your next video. I’m sure you’ll learn more about the music industry when you start diving into Boracity magazines video essays. She provides a lot of receipts. Great fan made video you reacted to. Explains quite a bit of the K-pop idol industry
@@TripTipsPodcast you should still watch it on your own. It's professionally done and will give you insight to each member of BlackPink. It's worth the watch, trust me. Remember it was released in 2020, filmed in 2019
Fun fact JENNIEBAR (Jennie's biggest Chinese fansite) showed their support to Jennie by displaying her pics in a frame made of gold on a SATELLITE orbiting the earth. The LADYBUG-1 satellite circled around the earth on August 8. The admin ended the message by saying "Among all the stardust and galaxies, the only one in my eyes is you". Ladybird-1 is a 16 Million USD satellite that is launched by China's Commsat. Jennie is the only kpop idol who has a picture in space 😭This still the funniest thing jensetters did for jennie lol, and the comments at the nasa youtube channel were hilarious only for it to be prerecorded 😂
6:20 to answer this question, to get into Entertainment companies, in this case YG, they have to audition, and if accepted, they go through training for multiple years, blackpink where trainies for 5-6 years, in that time they do singing, rapping, dancing, and a bunch of other things, and they do monthly evaluations, and the company will trim them out each month until the best of the best are left. and then they debut them as a group.
After auditioning they training for 5-6 years while that time they have monthly evaluations and some executives watch them and either kick them out or let them stay and remember this is EVERY MONTH for that much years and while they showcase there talents they choose there positions .
"PRINCESS OF YG LMAO" she's the first one to run out their contracts got over she opened her own label ODDATELIER as soon as you open the site you'll see the quote "we're passionate about making music" honestly jennie has so much potential She always shades Teddy , yg and criticizes blackpink's music style for repeating the same formula over and over again pick any of her pre debut training videos Jennie has said she used to do Alot of dark yet soulful r&b type of stuff predebut and she wonders what she is doing nowadays We don’t have many ppl in kpop w/ that smoky, gritty timbre in their voices like her which is why her voice is always the opener/lead songs & why she leans towards R&B/jazz where it’s best suited. listen amy winehouse, rihanna, dua, or even SIA herself and see the similarities and we'll see this type of music in her solo album now that she's free from copypaste entertainment the girl literally carries the group on her back but never gets appreciated still baffles me how YG allowed the hatred for JENNIE to fester and even caused it to stop the release of her solo album. She was emotionally pliable. Imagine how she must have felt when people, including some of her fans, threw her under the bus, only for her agency to do the same. Shame on them, really. You do so much and still get discredited and overlooked. You will never be the favorite and it will always hurt, but better get used to it. As long as you are enough for yourself it doesn’t matter what others think of you. Both jisoo and Lisa get away despite not having any musical talent they get handed over albums and projects by the company left right but when it's the other two girls that can actually write compose, produce , sing live in all the concerts blinks and yg turns a blind eye it was extremely exhausting tbh and I'm saying this as someone who's been OT4 for 2 years and just became a solo fan
About the collabs with Western artists and your theory (starting at 12:02 min.) that these were the reasons that BLACKPINK got so much attention and success in the West: It's not the collaborations with Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez and their feature of Cardi B. that broke those records and made the group widely known mainly in the U.S. "Kiss and Make Up" with Dua Lipa was only a one-track-single and a B-side track on the special edition of Dua Lipa's album "Dua Lipa: Complete Edition Disc Two", not on a BLACKPINK album. "Sour Candy" with Lady Gaga was released as a B-side on Lady Gaga's album "Chromatica". Only "Ice Cream" (with Selena Gomez) which was Track 2 on BLACKPINK's THE ALBUM and the B-side "Bet You Wanna" (feat. Cardi B.) on THE ALBUM could fall into this category. But the last two were released after the record-breaking with the release of BLACKPINK's THE ALBUM in October 2020 (the guide doesn't include this time anymore). What shattered the boundaries of "most vieved on UA-cam" and got them five Guiness records were their own title tracks (which are in Korean) without help from collabs.
Blackpink brought me to kpop it's sad to see the rumors of their disbandment and no ot4 news from their company... So Many artists left yg entertainment this year be it ikon , treasure with Big Bang member T.O.P, followed by Taeyang and Daesung, all three revealed that they will be parting ways with YG Entertainment. T.O.P announced his departure from YG Entertainment earlier this year in February, and Taeyang announced he will be moving to The Black Label, an associated company of YG Entertainment. Soon after, Daesung also revealed that he will be leaving YG Only GD was left there but yg also trademarked his & blackpink's name that now they can't use the same name even if they wanted to join other agencies :/ The moment GD left yg he was charged with drug allegations and yg responded by saying “Difficult to respond, not an artist belonging to our company”. YG milked him till he was with them. Once he got out, suddenly he is charged with deugs and YG responded so fast. Connect the dots lol🤡 About blackpink Even if they debut under different agencies Lisa will face alot of problems because she's banned all over china now because of her crazy horse performances & brands her biggest bands are deleting her posts and cutting ties with her yg also trademarked her own name " lalisa manobal " they really did her dirty because she was really protected one by them But yeah I think she should join a foreign agency now because they won't let her breathe in SK rosé always went by her stage name so she's safe In the future & according to Korean media she's the only one who renewed 🥲 Jisoo will most probably stay with yg be cause other than group and solo activities they're also handling her acting gigs in SK Yg also trademarked Jennie's Korean & stage name "Kim Jennie " but Jennie played yg here since last year she started using her real name w "Jennie ruby Jane " for her acting debut in Hollywood and and even with all of her international brands & signing autographs with her full name she probably knew what was coming & probably learnt alot in the past lol Because unlike jennie the other girls are totally dependent on yg be It their brand names, deals or UA-cam channels :/ but for the first time Jennie is winning at life 😶 I hope we'll get an official news from their company soon
I think the ranking system is based upon their skills for a specific position.... They all sound good in the mvs but when they're live it clearly shows why a certain position is handed over to a member.... Also there's a thing called centre or face of the group. These positions are handed to the most skillful performer of a group .... like in bts it's Jungkook because he's an all rounder an Ace although some fans think jhope is the ace member of bts but mostly it's jk . Same case in blackpink jennie has these positions because she fits right into it but Lisa's solo stans have a habit of sabotaging the other members but after watching them live in LA i can tell why people go crazy over jennie She's one of the best performers in kpop
people are calling her the queen of kpop Some people hate her many people love her but everyone knows her " Couldn't have described Jennie's career better She always has been the most hated one yet the most impactful member They only had 12 million followers when Jennie debuted as a soloist and other members released their music during their prime time But look whose the most successful one yg did that girl dirty She receives hate from her own fandom they never support her All the other members except jennie have renewed their contracts according to a famous Chinese website Blackpink will not survive one day without Jennie it'll be fun to see yg struggling We Know she ain't gonna renew because she has started using jennie ruby jane instead of Jennie kim a name given by that shitty company
I'm ot4 but I agree with you Jennie and rosé should go solo They can do so much better without yg and they really do have the potential to be a soloist Lisa should stick with yg because her she can't sing and rap her strong point is dancing which she's great at one of the best dancers in kpop she'll make a great dance mentor Jisoo should go into acting she did very good in snowdrop but she should also stay under yg for a secure career
It's so funny to see that her vlogs have more views and likes as compared to bpm rolls 😂 I must say she is very smart & knows what's happening It was very wise of her to keep her brand deals out of lmvh contract with yg so she doesn't have to give half of her money to yg like the other members .. I also have a feeling that she will let go this time
They all worked during their younger years as individuals, doing things they enjoyed the most. Fate, and YG Entertainment, brought them together. They worked as a group for five long years with no guarantee that YG would promote them as a group. Millions are so glad they did. And, yes, the number of YT views are taken as a whole, worldwide.
and Now LISA have almost 100M Follower she is the most follower in KPOP and she is Thai but the journey of her is very tough she went to Korea since 14 age away from her family cannot communicate with any one and training for 5 years until debut after debut she got a lot of racism hater from Korean Her life so inspired young people around the world 🏆
39:42 not some people lol she was/is hated by everyone... You can even look it up on Google Jennie is the most hated idol in the history of kpop ... The amount of hate she received in 2018-2021 was heartbreaking to watch....( at that time 2 of the biggest kpop idols commited suicide due to cyber bullying) and some certain fandoms trended jennie next telling her to do the same thing .... Jennie the villan of kpop is a great documentary you should check it .....
keep in mind that this all is outdated information about Blackpink , as of today their achievements are far greater. you can react to something new such like : BLACKPINK Documentary: The Rise of BLACKPINK - Full Documentary
From being ygs new girl group To the biggest Korean group in history And today being personally invited and awarded An MBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) is the third highest ranking Order of the British Empire award by the king of England in the presence of president of south Korea and first lady of south Korea They were ALWAYS neglected by the Korean government and bullied for not winning a national award the other fandom dragged blackpink for years for not having corrupted daesang just for them to bag MBEs only 3 musicians ( the beetles in 1965 , Adele in 2013 and blackpink in 2023) in history have these in the world The way they’re being so highly recognized and awarded infront of the Korean president who’s said to be misogynistic kinda iconic letting him see how powerful these women are ... Blackpink truly is the revolution of kpop 🖤💗
@@TripTipsPodcast true Just two days ago they also got the award for highest grossing tour by any asian act by billboard & Jennie became the 1st female soloist in history to chart at #1 on both American and European charts she was also awarded for her achievement 🎀 The sky is their limit 💟
Yesss, thank u guys for giving us some more BP content, I miss it 🩷. Right now Lisa has over 95M followers on ig so pretty soon she will be the first Kpop idol and among other records within Asian idol and Asian media industry to hit 100M followers on the platform. Also, BLACKPINK are stilll with YG lol…what happens in Kpop is some groups tend to push for WESTERN PROMOTION for their music within American labels …BLACKPINK are still UNDER YG as their main company and label. It is just that in October of 2018, BP signed with Interscope Records for a global partnership/collab WITH YG Entertainment. So now, BP are represented by both Interscope and UMG outside of Asia. Nice video, and now you guys do have more set information on the girls but it would be better to learn updated info as well. Also, you guys asked about how the “ranking” works amongst Kpop idols. It all happens through EVALUATIONS as they are trainees and usually depicts who will be the members debuting first if at all. That is why some comments a few weeks back when y’all reacted to BABYMONSTER, asked if you guys can react to all 8 episodes of their “LAST EVAULATION” as YG announced they will be his NEWEST Kpop girl group (after BLACKPINK since 2016) whom btw Lisa and Jennie helped train them as well. Highly recommend watching that so you can get an idea on how TRAINEE life works ...well in YG ENT for that matter. BLACKPINK had it way tougher and harder when they were growing up as trainees but trainee life for Kpop idols NOWadays is still pretty tough and challenging. I also hope you guys react to MORE girl groups. TWICE, XG, IVE, NEW JEANS, GIDLE, LE SSERAFIM, ITZY, AESPA...quite some great recommendations
2:31 yes most viewed video in 24 hours on UA-cam not just for kpop but this record was broken by bts with more 100M views in 24 hours shortly after blackpink made it in 2020 and then bts themselves extend their record in 2021 with almots 120M views in 24 hours and bts still holds that record
Yg been excluding jennie in every way possible from cuttin her merchs off thr website to leaving her outta bpm consistently to rejecting offers for her to keep being useless n incompetent as always when it comes to protection. Finna glad she knew to leave this messy label n group
Blackpink was definitely built around Jennie. She was the trainee to look out for & was going to debut as an idol regardless. They go through monthly evaluations in front of executives and are rated based on their skills. Some girls even train for 5+ years and still get sent home. The competition is rigorous, they train in dancing, singing, language & more.
Exactly she's seen so much .... Imagine being a eleven year old living alone in yg building and training without knowing what your future might be sending one of your friends home every weekend with the fear that the next turn might be yours :( Everyone knows that yg notoriously famous for human rights violation.... All this just to be the most hated kpop idol she deserves better
Lisa is definitely the most successful idol ever. And the most popular too. Global IT Girl. She is the most searched female idol. She has a lot of records. Only V, JK and Jimin can compare with her when it comes to popularity and records.
You asked how the Blackpink members were "ranked" or chosen. It is an amazingly exhaustive process, starting with auditions throughout Asia. For example, YG auditioned 4,000 talented teens in Thailand, with Lisa (age 13) being the only one invited into the YG Trainee Program. Lisa had been training in dance schools since the age of 4, competing since the age of 6 and on the national competition circuit since the age of 9. So Lisa was a premier dancer and stage performer before joining YG, but YG trained her in rap and trained her in Korean, Japanese and Chinese languages. Rose was one of 700 in Australia, and the only one invited to join the Trainee Program. YG trained here in dance and stage performance. Jisoo and Jennie underwent auditions in S.Korea. Being a Kpop Idol in S.Korea is, believe it or not, the most sought after career by teens in S.Korea. So, companies like YG scout the premier dance schools and Art & Performance High Schools for candidates, and of course only the best of the best are chosen for their Trainee Program. So, YG's Trainee Program started with about 30 of the most talented, and well trained teens they could find in Asia. The Trainee Program included working 14 hour days, 13 days on and 1 day off, living in company dorms, eating in company cafeteria, monthly dance/singing/rap evaluations, both individually and as part of a group. Over 6 years the Trainee Program was whittled down to the 4 members of Blackpink. What makes BP unique is their producer who has created all of their songs. Teddy was a Korean-American gangsta rap star in his youth. So, they are the best of the best in term of performers. Lisa is often ranked as the best rapper and best dancer in all female Kpop, and is the most popular Kpop Idol in the world having over 100 million IG followers. Jennie is typically ranked as the most popular female Kpop Idol in S.Korea. Jisoo is an award winning Lead Dramatic Actress, has outstanding vocals and is the epitome of Korean beauty standards (being ranked as the Most Beautiful Woman in the World two years running by British magazine Nubia based on global surveys). ,Rose is the Taylor Swift of Kpop, piano/guitar playing singer/songwriter with one of the most beautiful voices in all Kpop.
2ne1 was about to disband, bigbang had scandals every week, winner is winner🤡… yg only had one chance and the took it Blackpinks producer in the Netflix documentary said they had no idea that bp will become so famous globally they grew into something which they never new was possible... Yg actually has never genuinely supported bp and it's quite evident He's a total misogynist and never gives the female artists creative freedom to write their own music.. Only cl from 2ne1 has credits for songs Jennie has written many songs love sick girls which were their first song to reach at the #1 spot on the billboard 100s was written by her and jisoo ... She did something which yg couldn't do Then they stole stay from her and till this day never gave her any credits she wrote that song during her trainee days when she had a very tough time They even stole her diary in which according to her almost 100+ songs were written by her No wonder we can see that she hates that man Their contract is about to end next month with yg Hope she doesn't renew her fans genuinely want her out of yg
@@TripTipsPodcastif they stay with yg means they are satisfied with the company and only some delusion fans thinking they are mistreated or no creative control.
Honestly this documentary does enough good job on describing some phases within BLACKPINK's older era, but i must say some explanations along few different sections seemedly off in some ways, especially when they tryna to describe yg's business strategy with their own self-made theory or when they quoting that one Yang hyun-suk's statement toward 2NE1 without a clear context behind it, which could be quite misleading if someone doesn't know much about any context behind those 2 topics in particular Well, there's still other aspect of the story telling that they could've done it a lot better but for now i'd say this documentary still quite decent for a non-official documentary As for much more proper suggestion, i'd fully recommending you guys with either BLACKPINK's offficial documentary on nhedfhlix or maybe the 2023 version of BLACKPINK's fan-made guide, do one of those suggestions and i can assure that you guys would know them a lot better 🤞
@@prettysavage368 see, the fact that you were saying that statement is actually proving my original comment, cuz a lot of people including you, me in the past or just anybody that doesn't understand Korean that well oftenly mistaking yg's statement toward 2NE1, and no matter how much the explanation that I'd give to you, you'll only ever get to finally understand the full context behind his ambiguous statement toward 2NE1 only if you'd ever do a full length deep research about the whole media's sentiment against Kpop industry during the 2nd gen era
In fairness no girl group(worldwide) is even close to Blackpink. "Twice" there korean rivals never come close to beating Blackpink in stats(no hate I like twice). Internationally, they have passed the spice girls as biggest world tour. They have made over 100 million on there current tour and still have 30 dates left to go. They are constantly the biggest influencer's during fashion weeks. They have the best brand deals etc etc etc the list is never ending for there achievements.
If you would like to understand K-pop a little more I would suggest watching - history of K-pop in 20 minutes - it’s a great video that I feel helps those to understand the industry a little more :)
Calling blackpink the prettier version of 2ne1 is wrong on so many levels 2ne1 had beautiful women and blackpink themselves are talented why would he call them the prettier version of the previous gg :/ I hate yg
I mean what can we expect from a man who destroyed his own girl group just because he fell in love with a 16 year old girl and even married her after destroying her &others career🤡
He wanted blackpink to be just like 2ne1 And now he's making baby monster famous by using blackpink.... Remember when he said I'm worried for bp I think they'll not be successful like 2ne1 and now that they're successful he never leaves a chance to take credit of their success 🤧🤧🤧😊
@@Girllovesick4ikr tbh I see Jennie in aheyon I don't know why Jennie got hate by the black community when she said the n word and now he made aheyon do the same thing 😶

37:47 fun fact about jennie she was shooting that xx with g dragon in 2012 and was only 16 ......
She was very shy back then and didn't want face any cameras
G dragon predicted her future back then by saying one day All the cameras will always follow her he was the first person who believed in Jennie.. g dragon is basically the king of kpop all the new groups look up to him especially bts they are heavily influenced by his music... Gd could have choosen any famous female singer but he choose the voice of Jennie a rookie who at that time wasn't even selected as a artist under yg .. and it came as a shock to the whole industry he even said called jennie the ace of yg entertainment ...
He saw her potential and knew she would be huge
Each member of a Kpop group has an assigned position that’s made by the company based on their skills.
Main Vocals = Best Vocalist
Lead Vocals = Second Best Vocalist
Main Rapper = Best Rapper
Lead Rapper = Second Best Rapper
Main Dancer = Best dancer
Lead Dancer = Second Best Dancer
Center = Member that’s in the center of the group in performances, photos, etc.
Visual = Best looking-wise according to the Korean Beauty Standards / Normally most promoted in photo shoots.
When they were trainees, each of the girls were evaluated on their skills which is how they got their assigned positions.
Lisa: Main Dancer/Lead Rapper
Rosé: Main Vocal/Lead Dancer
Jennie: Main Rapper/Lead Vocal
Jisoo: Visual/Lead Vocal
Thanks for the info I’ve been wondering about this.
Jennie's solo is fast approaching a billion views currently.

2ne1 disbanded in 2016 the same time when yg announced about their new gg Blackpink
It's been six years now but yeah they did reunited for once to perform at coachella for their fans last year 😊
Thanks we didn’t know that
Lisa is my favorite member, she is so talented and great at everything👍🏼👌🏼
Facts
2:19 Blackpink members have made countless world records as a group but they're also extremely successful as soloist to the point where I can say that blackpink is the only group in which are the members have successful solo career's
Each member has surpassed 10 million monthly listeners individually ( the only group in kpop to do so)
Both jennie and Lisa have surpassed more than 25 million monthly listeners ( Lisa did this with a album and proper comeback)
both jennie and Lisa are most streamed kpop artists on Spotify and Jennie on UA-cam too
Right now Jungkook from bts and Jennie from blackpink have the highest monthly listeners in kpop surpassing their respective groups for the first time in kpop history ( Jennie with only 3 songs and no Album)
These records are limited to kpop
(Jennie also holds and broke some major records globally which no one has made yet )
Jennie Kim holds the record to hit 1 million subscribers on UA-cam. In less than 7 hours, this happened on 13 January 2021
Till this day no one has been able to break her record :)
Jennie also became the fastest person to sold-out ... she sold out her new Calvin Klein collection in" one second" surpassing the Beatles Paul McCartney this year and now holds the guinness world of fastest person to sellout her collection in history
This is why all brands want her she's a human magnet for brands anything she touches or even looks at gets sold out in seconds ....
Hope you'll react to their vlogs each member has their own UA-cam channel 😇
Thanks for sharing this with us. We’ll check them out soon.
Being the fastest sold out person in history is so crazy 😭

The best position for an idol is the position that the idol and company feels most confident and competent in. You wouldn’t want the prestigious role of ‘Main Vocal’ or 'Main rapper'if you know you’re not great at vocals and much better at rapping. Hence rosé and Jennie have the main vocal and rapping positions in the group
Of course, the most admired roles are ‘Leader’, ‘Centre’, ‘Main’ & the face of the group as they take on a leadership role and appear more important
face of the group and center is jennie - face of the group is the one who embodies the concept the most and usually is the most eye-catching and impactful member of the group
BLACKPINK does not have a leader, quite unusual from the rest of the K-pop group YG asked Jennie to be the leader for BLACKPINK since she trained for the longest time which was 6 years. Jennie rejected though because she wanted all of them to be equal in roles.
Lisa has a background in dance, has the passion for dancing, and has been dancing since she was a child. She is the main dancer because her dance skills compared to other members are better in the sense that it main talent and undoubtedly she Is the best female dancer in kpop
It’s arguable that given roles such as ‘Visual’ a not so important. For example, giving Jisoo Kim the role of ‘Visual’ when it’s arguable that Jennie is considered more pretty
Jisoo holds the main visual position as her features are stereotypically Korean but at the same time what’s the use of holding the title ‘Visual’. As it overshadowes her other talents such as being a great vocalist , Actress and a songwriter
Hope this will clear your doubts 😇
Thanks for writing this. We are still learning new things about the girls everyday 🙏😊

JENNIE claimed the top spot as the MOST SEARCHED female idol on Google USA 🇺🇸 during the first half of 2023, solidifying her position as the highest-ranking member of BLACKPINK in both Japan and South Korea!

That’s awesome 👍
2ne1 was a group of four girls
In 2016 yg announced the disbandment of the group because of Minzys departure...
Cl and dara remained singed as solo artists under yg entertainment because they had solo stuff too
Bom was released from her contract....
Cl is still active but we don't have any news on other members

38:39 rosé and jisoo are the most girly members of the group they mostly represent the pink side of the group which is cute & feminine tho jisoo can be savage sometimes
Lisa is the tomboy of the group
style wise... She's a great dancer and her personality attracts alot of people she's the crackhead of the group along with jisoo😅
Jennie is the only member who represents the exact meaning of Blackpink she is what yg artists are like ... In every yg group there's a member who represents what yg is all about Jennie's 38:40 stage & off stage personalites are completely different she's the sassy & savage but also the cutest member she's an introvert

Lisa is my favorite member she is so amazing and special and different! Everyone is attracted to her, She is the real Queen👑🔥

A group that started their first world tour after performing at Coachella in 2019 is a very big thing
The peak was their beginning
Misogyny in Korea is very common
this year blackpink were to perform at the white house invited by the joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden herself that too for six times
Korea's National Security Council failed to relay this request to Yook Suk Yeol, creating potential cause for discourse between the U.S. and South Korea less than a month ahead of the state visit
And few days after this incident he was found saying that blackpink are women no one will remember them bts should go instead......
And next week yg dropped another bomb on Korean media blackpink became the first ever Korean artists to headline Coachella
Last year Coachella founder Paul Tollett reportedly traveled to South Koea to personally invite Blackpink to headline this years stage and in the born pink memory videos he was filmed saying that blackpink is bigger and more talented than than anyone else Rn .....
They truly are legends in the space
Jennifer & rosie 🖤🔛🔝
When pinkpunk (now known as blackpink) was in the making it had 9 members Jennie said she tried to make a group by taking charge as yg was constantly delaying their debut she was the leader of pinkpunk in 2012
The group was built around Jennie in the Netflix documentary she said I saw hundreds of contestants leaving the building and sadly all of her friends were eliminated too
When she was given the opportunity to be the leader of bp she denied the offer saying everyone deserves to shine equally
Back then she was the monster trainee of yg people saw contestants crying and coming out of the building because yg made them compete with her 😂 she's still the most famous trainee yg entertainment has ever seen
Damn that would suck to go up against her. Feel bad for all those poor souls

I love how they are willing to branch out and collab
I looked through the comments and did not see anyone mention this, so I will try to cover it.
2NE1 - They are a second generation Girl Group from YG
They had their own set of problems which is why they are not a current GG today.
Dara - is a TV talk show host
Minzy - is a soloist, but not making waves in a big pool of artist
Bom - is also a soloist, and not making waves in the same pool.
2NE1 was formed in 2009 and by 2012, in the height of their musical carriers, Bom is accused of a drug smuggling scandal, and the group stops all activities.
YG has never dealt with scandals well, and used the only weapon he knows. New Girl Group rumors,
Side note, BlackPink contracts are done in a month from today, YG again used this same tactic, New Girl Group - BabyMonster.
MAMA pulled all the stops out, invited BTS, TWICE, MAMAMOO, GOT7, ITZY and TXT to name a few artist to perform,
and BlackPink still had the Tokyo Dome packed 55,000 attendance, sold out show. everyone thought the BlackPink concert would flop but it did the opposite, the BP fandom grew.
It’s always good to be humble and appreciate what you have now.
38:09 now she has #1 brand reputation value 30 months straight the most for any male or female kpop artist or any group in kpop history

20:40 Yg don't let Blackpink attend award shows shows is because Back in 2017, Mama even blurred BLACKPINK's faces with red color during a award show ....
( Covering face with red color means death in Korea)
Next year yg entertainment held a concert at Tokyo dome the same night as the award show ... And to everyone's surprise blackpink pulled 60k as rookies with only one year experience... that night and the dome was sold out .....
The award show was half empty because artists decided to attend the Tokyo dome concert
MAMA is just rude.
BLACKPINK obviously knows about this and even hosted concerts on the days that MAMA takes place
Biggest flex in K-Pop history is BLACKPINK having a concert in Tokyo Dome and sold out much, much more tickets than MAMA did......
YG DOESN'T PLAY WHEN SOMEONE DISRESPECTS THEIR ARTISTS .....
👍❤️

Yes collabs help them in popularity but the thing which made them more popular is their different music, production, visuals, sets.....and too much....❤

Very true
Collab only happened when they already hit big not because of the collab that they got big.
im Blackjack before (2NE1 Fandom) , so its sadly that 2NE1 already disbanded before blackpink debut i think.. i remember getting heartbreak when i read their annoucement for the disbandment, but all of their members have their solo carier right now, and looks like its what theyve been wanting for a long time,, so i just feel happy and rooting for each of them
I recently joined the fandom it's fascinating how they became an overnight sensation ...
I really wanna know more about these girls but there's little to no information about their trainee days or how the group was formed & Jennie's family like there's nothing on her ....
It makes me curious about their history & how they all got together
Check out our BlackPink playlist to learn more
Just being a trainee in KPOP industry is hard especially if you audition under big companies like YG,SM & JYP but since I'm YG stan we have knowledge now how they trained their artists since YG held a survival show before they debut their boygroups & recently they showed us how they made BABY MONSTER it's not that brutal for their girl groups but they talented tho their boygroups have faced lots of challenged of course you can see how hard for them knowing YG trained lots of famous artists in the industry who has strong aura & stage presence
Thanks for the info. Very informative.
25:18 i understand your point but yg holds back black pink a bit too much as for their boy groups they release music just like any normal group does
The guy with the red cap is absolutely right jennie probably cried after the live because it truly felt like the group is disbanding their hiatuses are ridiculously long and for a seven year old group them having only 13 mvs their discography is fcked up
And their own solo careers are stake one of the major reasons the fandom is divided into 4 groups strictly associated with each girl and they really dont give a fck about the others
The same drama happened with their contract renewal
The girls did sign up with yg as a groups and some of em as soloists too possibly rosie and jisoo , Lisa negotiating with a international agency which made yg stocks fall for about 24%
I may sound like a hater but i think rosie lisa and jisoo can't fully survive on their own they are extremely talented and rosie seems to be the most passionate about making music like she genuinely respects the art she makes
But these three girls need a strong company to keep their solo careers stable
Jennie on the other hand opened her own COMPANY today and officially became a ceo all the yg staff left yg to be in her company 54% of ygs stock fell as soon as she announced her own agency
Jennie knows how to lead and dominate as THE Weeknd said no one understands the industry better than jennie
honestly her real journey will start now
WELL THIS WAS MY HONEST OPINION AND FACTS ABOUT THE GROUP AND MEMBERS
Thank you for being honest and explaining all this to us
@@Kora440 just my opinion. Doesn’t make it fact
@@Kora440
I'm so done with y'all
Firstly I said they all are extremely talented & have so much potential but chaelisoo might need a big label
To manage them because believe it or not they can't lead a company at least not right now
2) I was talking about their solo careers & not black pink
you can disagree with me but people who achieve greatness take calculated risks and Jennie is known for taking risks she's the first member to do things and others follow her footsteps now I won't use the phrase paved the way because I believe that everyone works hard for the things they receive but we cannot just ignore the sacrifices which she made for the girls and black pink itself
I don't think you understand how big it is to be a 27 year old women to open her own label in kpop which is a male dominated industry and going against YG entertainment who's known for destroying their artists careers as soon as they leave the company
Just imagine how much confidence she has in herself despite being the most hated kpop artist
YG is a businessman and probably knows what she's capable of which is the only reason he has been holding her back but now she's free
And she just dropped a Christmas cover from her own recording room and it's her first day😂
This is just the beginning

@@TripTipsPodcast there's actually a guide called the ultimate guide of BLACKPINK 2023 VERSION, in form of a fan-made video, but just very recently the owner decides to make it as a private content for an unknown reason, well probably they wanna make a better edit so they chose to take it down for a moment and later on they'll change it into the better one who knows
There's also the previous versions in term of a fan-made guide, like the one from 2022, but it ain't as good/updated like the one in 2023
But again, it's up to you guys honestly, you could take the one from 2022 or even the older ones, but you could also wait for the updated 2023 version around days/weeks from now on
But in the meantime, you guys could also watch BLACKPINK official documentary as well (titled as BLACKPINK LIGHT UP THE SKY), though it's not available on youtube, but you guys could still watch it fully on a platform where it's firstly being premiered, take some notes and surely you guys would learn a lot rather than what you guys could get from any fan-made guide
@@L.U.C.A.006 awesome info thanks 😊
We’ll wait for the 2023 guide.
Just to help you guys out a bit since the video you guys watched also mentioned other groups and things such as generations. There’s usually 6-7 yrs gap between each generations.
1st Gen : 1996 - 2003 - Pioneer Era
2nd Gen : 2003 - 2009 - Golden Era/Hallyu Wave
3rd Gen : 2010 - 2016 - Digital Era
4th Gen : 2017 - 2023 / 2024 (?)
Just a bit more info, the “Godfather” of Kpop is a group called “SeoTaiji and Boys”, although that is the case they were never considered to be a part of the 1st Generation as they were active way before the term Kpop was even a thing but the reason why they’re called the “Godfather of Kpop” is cause they were the first ones to introduce the concept of singing, dancing and do the type of music that closely resembled what Kpop is today to Korea, there were no such thing as idol groups when Seo Taiji and Boys were active.
1st Gen girl groups : S.E.S, FinK.L and Baby V.OX
2nd Gen girl groups : Wonder Girls, KARA, SNSD, 2NE1 and T-ARA
3rd Gen girl groups : Red Velvet, Twice, BLACKPINK
Hey thank you for updating us! We appreciate that 💜
@@TripTipsPodcast no problem, started listening to Kpop about 16+ yrs ago now so it be rude of me if I didn’t learn its history.
@@beyondtherevolution6904 good god you are just a wealth of knowledge. We need you on our videos.

Ah that makes perfect sense. Thank you
Jennie >>>>> ❤❤❤❤

After auditioning they training for 5-6 years while that time they have monthly evaluations and some executives watch them and either kick them out or let them stay and remember this is EVERY MONTH for that much years and while they showcase there talents they choose there positions .
Good to know thank you!
"PRINCESS OF YG LMAO" she's the first one to run out their contracts got over she opened her own label ODDATELIER as soon as you open the site you'll see the quote "we're passionate about making music" honestly jennie has so much potential She always shades Teddy , yg and criticizes blackpink's music style for repeating the same formula over and over again pick any of her pre debut training videos Jennie has said she used to do Alot of dark yet soulful r&b type of stuff predebut and she wonders what she is doing nowadays We don’t have many ppl in kpop w/ that smoky, gritty timbre in their voices like her which is why her voice is always the opener/lead songs & why she leans towards R&B/jazz where it’s best suited. listen amy winehouse, rihanna, dua, or even SIA herself and see the similarities and we'll see this type of music in her solo album now that she's free from copypaste entertainment
the girl literally carries the group on her back but never gets appreciated still baffles me how YG allowed the hatred for JENNIE to fester and even caused it to stop the release of her solo album.

That’s extremely impressive.
That’s why they’re Queens 💜

So Many artists left yg entertainment this year be it ikon , treasure with Big Bang member T.O.P, followed by Taeyang and Daesung, all three revealed that they will be parting ways with YG Entertainment. T.O.P announced his departure from YG Entertainment earlier this year in February, and Taeyang announced he will be moving to The Black Label, an associated company of YG Entertainment. Soon after, Daesung also revealed that he will be leaving YG
Only GD was left there but yg also trademarked his & blackpink's name that now they can't use the same name even if they wanted to join other agencies :/
The moment GD left yg he was charged with drug allegations and yg responded by saying “Difficult to respond, not an artist belonging to our company”.
YG milked him till he was with them. Once he got out, suddenly he is charged with deugs and YG responded so fast. Connect the dots lol🤡
About blackpink
Even if they debut under different agencies Lisa will face alot of problems because she's banned all over china now because of her crazy horse performances & brands her biggest bands are deleting her posts and cutting ties with her yg also trademarked her own name " lalisa manobal " they really did her dirty because she was really protected one by them
But yeah I think she should join a foreign agency now because they won't let her breathe in SK
rosé always went by her stage name so she's safe In the future & according to Korean media she's the only one who renewed 🥲
Jisoo will most probably stay with yg be
cause other than group and solo activities they're also handling her acting gigs in SK
Yg also trademarked Jennie's Korean & stage name "Kim Jennie " but Jennie played yg here since last year she started using her real name w "Jennie ruby Jane " for her acting debut in Hollywood and and even with all of her international brands & signing autographs with her full name she probably knew what was coming & probably learnt alot in the past lol
Because unlike jennie the other girls are totally dependent on yg be It their brand names, deals or UA-cam channels :/ but for the first time Jennie is winning at life 😶
I hope we'll get an official news from their company soon
Thank you for sharing this with us 😊
To clear the confusion 😂YG is their main record label. UMG only handles their 'music promotion' in the US.
Oh ok makes sense
I think the ranking system is based upon their skills for a specific position....
They all sound good in the mvs but when they're live it clearly shows why a certain position is handed over to a member....
Also there's a thing called centre or face of the group.
These positions are handed to the most skillful performer of a group ....
like in bts it's Jungkook because he's an all rounder an Ace although some fans think jhope is the ace member of bts but mostly it's jk . Same case in blackpink jennie has these positions because she fits right into it but Lisa's solo stans have a habit of sabotaging the other members but after watching them live in LA i can tell why people go crazy over jennie
She's one of the best performers in kpop
Thanks for the info 👍😊❤️

When are you gonna upload more bp reactions I've binged watched all of them 😭🤧
The 29th of this month
people are calling her the queen of kpop Some people hate her many people love her but everyone knows her "
Couldn't have described Jennie's career better
She always has been the most hated one yet the most impactful member
They only had 12 million followers when Jennie debuted as a soloist and other members released their music during their prime time
But look whose the most successful one yg did that girl dirty
She receives hate from her own fandom they never support her
All the other members except jennie have renewed their contracts according to a famous Chinese website
Blackpink will not survive one day without Jennie it'll be fun to see yg struggling
We Know she ain't gonna renew because she has started using jennie ruby jane instead of Jennie kim a name given by that shitty company
I'm ot4 but I agree with you
Jennie and rosé should go solo
They can do so much better without yg and they really do have the potential to be a soloist
Lisa should stick with yg because her she can't sing and rap her strong point is dancing which she's great at one of the best dancers in kpop she'll make a great dance mentor
Jisoo should go into acting she did very good in snowdrop but she should also stay under yg for a secure career
It's so funny to see that her vlogs have more views and likes as compared to bpm rolls 😂
I must say she is very smart & knows what's happening
It was very wise of her to keep her brand deals out of lmvh contract with yg so she doesn't have to give half of her money to yg like the other members ..
I also have a feeling that she will let go this time
@@RUBY_JENNIE_JANE49let's hope for the best just want her to be happy with whatever she does ❤️
They all worked during their younger years as individuals, doing things they enjoyed the most. Fate, and YG Entertainment, brought them together. They worked as a group for five long years with no guarantee that YG would promote them as a group. Millions are so glad they did. And, yes, the number of YT views are taken as a whole, worldwide.
Thanks for letting us know 🙏
Love lisa❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Queen blackpink revolution
She’s amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Lisa now has 95 MILLION FOLLOWERS
Wow that’s insane
Black pink is a revolution ❤
And trend setters
and Now LISA have almost 100M Follower she is the most follower in KPOP and she is Thai but the journey of her is very tough she went to Korea since 14 age away from her family cannot communicate with any one and training for 5 years until debut after debut she got a lot of racism hater from Korean Her life so inspired young people around the world 🏆
Blackpink was the first kpop group to perform at Coachella not onely girl group
Wow impressive!
Oh wow. That’s so messed up. I’ll check out the villain of KPOP thanks!
@@TripTipsPodcastTho the most successful idol indeed. 😅😏🤭.. she's been awarded for that and also she is 'IT' .
Thankyou so much for reaction lots of love💟

Blackpink guide 2023 please
Coming soon
From being ygs new girl group
To the biggest Korean group in history
And today being personally invited and awarded An MBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) is the third highest ranking Order of the British Empire award by the king of England in the presence of president of south Korea and first lady of south Korea
They were ALWAYS neglected by the Korean government and bullied for not winning a national award the other fandom dragged blackpink for years for not having corrupted daesang just for them to bag MBEs only 3 musicians ( the beetles in 1965 , Adele in 2013 and blackpink in 2023) in history have these in the world
The way they’re being so highly recognized and awarded infront of the Korean president who’s said to be misogynistic kinda iconic letting him see how powerful these women are ...
Blackpink truly is the revolution of kpop 🖤💗
That’s such an incredible and impressive accomplishment
@@TripTipsPodcast true
Just two days ago they also got the award for highest grossing tour by any asian act by billboard & Jennie became the 1st female soloist in history to chart at #1 on both American and European charts she was also awarded for her achievement 🎀
The sky is their limit 💟

Definitely watch 2ne1. You won't be disappointed. Sad how they ended. It's a tough industry. I like your journey.
I’ve seen them teach the girls in baby monster before at least I think.
@@TripTipsPodcast yea u most probably have!
2:31 yes most viewed video in 24 hours on UA-cam not just for kpop but this record was broken by bts with more 100M views in 24 hours shortly after blackpink made it in 2020 and then bts themselves extend their record in 2021 with almots 120M views in 24 hours and bts still holds that record
jisoo is also the lead vocalist odlf blackpink 😊
She’s insanely talented
She needed more credit in this video
Yg been excluding jennie in every way possible from cuttin her merchs off thr website to leaving her outta bpm consistently to rejecting offers for her to keep being useless n incompetent as always when it comes to protection. Finna glad she knew to leave this messy label n group
That’s messed up
@@TripTipsPodcast indeed
Blackpink was definitely built around Jennie. She was the trainee to look out for & was going to debut as an idol regardless.
They go through monthly evaluations in front of executives and are rated based on their skills.
Some girls even train for 5+ years and still get sent home. The competition is rigorous, they train in dancing, singing, language & more.
Exactly she's seen so much ....
Imagine being a eleven year old living alone in yg building and training without knowing what your future might be sending one of your friends home every weekend with the fear that the next turn might be yours :(
Everyone knows that yg notoriously famous for human rights violation....
All this just to be the most hated kpop idol she deserves better
Pretty impressive
Lisa is definitely the most successful idol ever. And the most popular too. Global IT Girl. She is the most searched female idol. She has a lot of records. Only V, JK and Jimin can compare with her when it comes to popularity and records.
Oh absolutely 100% FACTS!!
The voice ❤
The rap ❤
The charisma ❤
#JennieKim my forever bias
Thank you so much for sharing this with us
Because of JENNIE i know kpop and because of BLACKPINK im in kpop as a BLINK
That’s awesome
2ne1 was about to disband, bigbang had scandals every week, winner is winner🤡… yg only had one chance and the took it
Blackpinks producer in the Netflix documentary said they had no idea that bp will become so famous globally they grew into something which they never new was possible...
Yg actually has never genuinely supported bp and it's quite evident
He's a total misogynist and never gives the female artists creative freedom to write their own music..
Only cl from 2ne1 has credits for songs
Jennie has written many songs love sick girls which were their first song to reach at the #1 spot on the billboard 100s was written by her and jisoo ... She did something which yg couldn't do
Then they stole stay from her and till this day never gave her any credits she wrote that song during her trainee days when she had a very tough time
They even stole her diary in which according to her almost 100+ songs were written by her
No wonder we can see that she hates that man
Their contract is about to end next month with yg
Hope she doesn't renew her fans genuinely want her out of yg
Hope she can find better more supportive management.
@@TripTipsPodcastif they stay with yg means they are satisfied with the company and only some delusion fans thinking they are mistreated or no creative control.
I think you guys should watch a guide on how kpop came to be.
That’s a great idea 💡

@@TripTipsPodcast yeah
Honestly this documentary does enough good job on describing some phases within BLACKPINK's older era, but i must say some explanations along few different sections seemedly off in some ways, especially when they tryna to describe yg's business strategy with their own self-made theory or when they quoting that one Yang hyun-suk's statement toward 2NE1 without a clear context behind it, which could be quite misleading if someone doesn't know much about any context behind those 2 topics in particular
Well, there's still other aspect of the story telling that they could've done it a lot better but for now i'd say this documentary still quite decent for a non-official documentary
As for much more proper suggestion, i'd fully recommending you guys with either BLACKPINK's offficial documentary on nhedfhlix or maybe the 2023 version of BLACKPINK's fan-made guide, do one of those suggestions and i can assure that you guys would know them a lot better 🤞
So what was the context behind calling 2ne1 members ugly
That’s incredible. They deserve it.
If you would like to understand K-pop a little more I would suggest watching - history of K-pop in 20 minutes - it’s a great video that I feel helps those to understand the industry a little more :)
Calling blackpink the prettier version of 2ne1 is wrong on so many levels
2ne1 had beautiful women and blackpink themselves are talented why would he call them the prettier version of the previous gg :/

I mean what can we expect from a man who destroyed his own girl group just because he fell in love with a 16 year old girl and even married her after destroying her &others career🤡
