Yes it could easily fit with Day at the Beach. I find it difficult to pick a fav. They have some very different offerings in their catalog. "All Rights Removed" and "Identity" are also very good.
Just discovered this group today through Prog Magazine online. This track is killer! Progressive Rock caricatures cancel culture? Vibe Shift definitely in the air! I'm definitely getting the CD when it comes out!
Airbag are hailed as one of the most important bands to emerge from the Norwegian progressive scene over the past decades. Their five critically acclaimed albums reveal a band that masterfully blends diverse musical styles and sounds, with a strong narrative listening experience. Airbag's latest album for 2024, " The Century of the Self ", is a masterclass in melancholic storytelling, with a darkness that permeates the melodies, rather than the lyrics. This band are quite clever in drawing the listener into the emotional vortex of each song. The three purveyors of deeply atmospheric and soul-stirring prog with finesse and sophistication to it, have unleashed a new stroke of evocative brilliance that is as well-composed, superbly played, and utterly absorbing. Like previous album, "A Day at The Beach", they are joined by guest musicians, adding depth to the sound. The album is bookended by two epics, with the middle tracks showcasing a more moderate duration. The subject matter is direct in saying the media and the narrative is controlled by those in power, the race for supremacy in AI and marketing of fear that have no fucking regard for you , the progression of humanity and that you should explore your own individuality and creativity as your mind is at the crossroad of reality and blind subjugation . Well that's my interpretation of the album anyway. Tostrup's vocals are warm and emotive, while Bjørn Riis' superb guitar work pays homage to David Gilmour, particularly in the opener "Dysphoria", where as some psychedelic passages can remind us of the Meddle era. "Tyrants And Kings" revisits the dark, atmospheric sound of "Disconnected", while "Awakening" is a beautiful, acoustic-driven track and showcases Tostrup's ability to craft simple yet grandiose melodies, no surprise it was chosen as the leading single for this album. The track "Erase" maintains the laid back approach, but delves into profound lyrical territory, while "Tear It Down" closes the album with a beautiful, intense performance from Riis, whose guitar work on this album might be his best performance ever on any album, adding depth and emotion to the track. I don't think this is quite the best album for newcomers to the band’s music, but is instead a personal, mature work that will resonate with Airbag's fans, particularly those who have grown with the band throughout their career. Those new to them id try one of the earlier albums like "All rights removed" to begin to understand who they are a bit. However if you wanting to start right here ?, sit down, close your eyes, turn up the volume, and indulge in this sonic masterpiece with a glass of fine bourbon. Wake up and feel again. Regards Jim
Excited for this new album. Based on the two tracks I've heard: Erase and Awakening, I get the feeling this album will kind of be a fusion of Day at the Beach and Greatest Show on Earth. Which isn't a bad thing, because Greatest Show on Earth is my favorite Airbag album.
This song very look like (TOOLS)band heavy rock in 2010.perfect bass guitar .شبیه گروه تولز هست مال ۱۵ سال قبل ولی گیتار بیش کامل بی نقص هستش.عالی.👍👍🤘🖐💟💎💞💖❤💜💜❤❤❤❤✋
@@Malkovith2I may be weird, but I really love the chorus. In my humble opinion, it is not really a classic popsong chorus, I rather ’feel it’ as being some bridge in a continu flow. Can not excactly explain what I mean 🙂...
Bass line is killer. Really looking forward to more!
This sound could easily fit on "A Day at the Beach", which probably ended up being my favorite Airbag album. Looking forward to the rest!

The entire album sounds like it could have been on that album.
@@jasonspencer8558 Humble Brag that you already have the whole album? =P
When the lyric video becomes more attractive than regular videos 😄👌
Cue, Of Monsters and Men lyric videos. Bloody awesome.

A masterpiece 🖤🤘
Airbag is reaching a high level of self consciousness (inside our consciousness)
what a wonderful album
for when you play in Barcelona damn it!!!!
Wallop 💥
Love the use of the bass and down-beats throughout this album. Definitely edgier that previous albums but not over-the-top.
Thank you!
Love that bass and dark electro in the middle :) Crossing fingers that I will be able to see you in Gdansk! :)
J'ai toujours adoré ces lourdes basses !
Merci!
Encore un bon album de ce groupe que j'écoute régulièrement, pas le meilleur mais c'est bon... Une basse plus présente que d'habitude.👌
Che como es esto??? Tenemos Airbag (hermanos Sardelli) también en Argentina .

I'm not sure if I like this or not. I didn't hate it. Maybe it'll take a few more listens.
its good but it really doesn't grab me.
it needs a lead guitar.
Video made me dizzy at the end…
great motif, disappointing chorus
Chorus? it's not a popsong. If you want a chorus, try Ed Shitran or Beyonshit or something.
Like it or not, this follows mostly the same structure as 99% different pop songs. And there is nothing wrong with that.
