A few weeks ago I was standing in a back garden in Reading, Berkshire, and there was a pair of these broad bodied dragonflies involved in a mating ritual right in front of me on the lawn (no pond) and kept at it for at least half an hour. It was totally amazing. A blue male(?) and a yellow striped female (?). I'll never forget it.

They find one another because Dragonflies have the most acute eyesight of all insects. Everything they do is based on Vision.

iv had a lot of the blue damselflies in my pond laying on weed and water lilys did get a few pics of them
