I once met Robert Englund at some kind of Comic Con and everyone had the usual Nightmare on Elm Street memorabilia for him to sign ... I was the only one with a V poster and he was so happy to see (and sign) it, that he took 5 minutes talking to me (and loud enough for everyone else in the line) about every one of the main actors and actresses, what they were doing "now" (that was more than 10 years ago) and so on. He was kind of thankful that someone brought something from V ... it was quite an experience. :-)

I was 10: and 11 when watching the two miniseries. It was so engrossing because characters you rooted for were killed off on a regular basis, which was a big contrast to the relatively “safe” settings of Star Wars.
The birthing scene at the end of the second night of the final battle was spooky beyond belief. It wasn’t the baby monster that got me, it was the anticipation, the sounds, and that lady’s eyes opening wide. My younger brother who was hiding and peeking behind the couch had had enough and scrammed out of the room.

V was an amazing series. Both Kenneth Johnson and Brandon Tartikoff were right to think kids of that generation couldn't believe "why we fight" because at that time it just wasn't something that seemed like it could happen. The idea of having them be aliens really worked. I just wish it was on streaming services so the current generation could learn these lessons.

I think it is important to remember that any totalitarian government is always going to promise more than it is going to deliver, regardless of whether we "call" it fascist or not. Orwell pointed out how recklessly the term was thrown around in his time. For me the key word is totalitarian where whatever government had complete control over it's people. Jefferson said it best: "The government that governs best, governs least." Keep that in mind and you'll figure it out.

I loved this show so much as a kid. As an adult, I rewatched the tv series that ended in a cliff hanger, and certainly noticed they were running out of money. Not only did they reuse scenes of ships flying, but they used the exact same scene of Willie running from a scene of a dramatic occurrence twice. Also in the later episodes, there were more than a few that didn't have many of the main actors as if they were trying to save money on actor salary. Still we were devastated to never learn what happened after Elizabeth, the star child stowed away on the ship heading back to the V home world.

The best series of all time! It was the start of - and made me a dedicated sci-fi-fan! ❤❤❤ I truly hope a remake worth the name some day will appear!

This series needs a PROPER reboot. The original was amazing, great music, great cast, good story, loved the ships, the weapon sounds - everything. It was an ambitious TV show that worked.

@@Gliese380 It certainly would, if it included a budget that would result in a script that respected for the source material and allowed for more than a 1980's 'made for TV' level of special effects.
Battlestar Galactica comes to mind as an example of a cheesy TV series whose budget would not allow it to reach its full potential, until its reboot series was updated across the board and re-launched.

Only a fool would take a vaccination with Hiv in it, causes paralysis and require you to take it in a ER because it's so unsafe it could kill you in hours

Oh you mean how facts and science were false or fake crap and substitute the shutting up of scientists with an attack on media scrutiny? How one of Trump slicktards like Gaetz or Erich looks like the Ken doll dude in the V poster wanting to be your "universal" friend? Ted Cruz looks like an evil Willie. Ham Tyler would be impressed how there are less rodents in the White House now. Btw Singer and Ironside are both Canadian born actors go figure.
