Forget Bee Gees one day a week; you could do a whole channel just on stuff written by Barry Gibb. And ... well yeah, women dug these guys with a shovel. I remember seeing lots of grown-up dudes walking around wearing heeled boots, tight pants, and rocking blowouts. I was a titch too young to connect at the time but watching now with adult eyes these three brothers were FAHN. :-) I strongly suggest a number by them called "You Should Be Dancing" that is pretty much the beating heart of the disco era. Barry also had a few hits with -- no joke -- Barbra Streisand. Search on their names and you'll turn them up.

I used to love this song when I was a little kid and I still do now (at 25). I spent a long time trying to memorize the lyrics and their timing-you cannot beat the BeeGees! My parents have their and their younger brother, Andy’s albums so I heard them often ☺️

Background info: NY was going through riots, a murderer on the loose and troubled times. The song was written about all of that. They did not intend for it to be a dance song, but the beat just makes you want to. Also, This song is the perfect beat for doing CPR on someone. They use this in teaching medical professionals how to do CPR on a patient. I don’t believe the Bee Gees intended for that to happen, but it did happen!

It's really say that we lost Robin and Maurice. Barry is the only one of the three still alive today. They also lost their youngest brother, Andy, to a car accident in 1988 when he was only 30. Crosby stills and Nash will challenge the Bee gees to harmonies any day anytime anywhere. They're pretty good when they add Neil Young into the mix too and become Crosby stills Nash and Young but I think the trio has the better of the harmonies in my opinion. Same era same generation different vibe completely. The Bee gees are Disco, Crosby stills and Nash are more folk rock and easy listening rock and man they can kill a three-part harmony. I recommend you start with Suite Judy Blue eyes. A musical suite in three parts. And the three-part Harmony hits you bang from the first note.

If you want to know what the other vocal harmony groups are, here are a few: The Four Seasons, The Beach Boys, The Doobie Brothers, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. There are others whose main thing wasn't vocal harmony, but who did it very well, Beatles, Chicago, etc.
As a woman I miss the days when men wore tight jeans, belts, ( NO BASEBALL CAPS ) absolutely hate seeing men wearing pants down to their knees and shirts so big you could put 3 people in it and always with those NON Flattering and usually stupid looking Baseball Caps. Just saying, it isnt very attractive to a woman.

Same era same generation different vibe completely. The Bee gees are Disco, Crosby stills and Nash are more folk rock and easy listening rock and man they can kill a three-part harmony.
I recommend you start with Suite Judy Blue eyes. A musical suite in three parts. And the three-part Harmony hits you bang from the first note.
Bee Gees are Disco..really?? Bee Gees had a small block of time when they wrote songs you could say were considered disco songs. But they were way before disco,and way after. They were NOT DISCO. They wee more R&B then disco. I have been listening to them since the early 1970's. My favorite Bee Gees era was before the Saturday Night Fever sound track.

If you want to know what the other vocal harmony groups are, here are a few: The Four Seasons, The Beach Boys, The Doobie Brothers, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. There are others whose main thing wasn't vocal harmony, but who did it very well, Beatles, Chicago, etc.
As a woman I miss the days when men wore tight jeans, belts, ( NO BASEBALL CAPS ) absolutely hate seeing men wearing pants down to their knees and shirts so big you could put 3 people in it and always with those NON Flattering and usually stupid looking Baseball Caps. Just saying, it isnt very attractive to a woman.
I never really appreciated this when it was on radio stations everyday and in the Discos and Roller Dromes every weekend. I was too into Black Sabbath, ZZ Top, The Who , Jethro Tull , Hendrix , Joe Walsh definately wasn't into disco. I like it now 🤣
The only harmonies that come to mind, though I know one there’s some others I’m forgetting about, is MAYBE The Beach Boys…maybe 🤷♂️? Another set of brothers 🤔.
No one can better the Bee Gees at harmony, because they are brothers...and two of them were twins. That's genetic harmony. The closest is their kids that have created a record called The Gibb Collective. Welcome to the '70s! They also wrote songs for other singers of all genres...songs you've heard but never knew who wrote them.

To me it would be home free is the group that would come the closest in harmonizing but it's just an opinion I'm sure many others might not agree. I did not say better but they would come close I think they are fantastic acapella group
