The vid on Etsy SEO was an eye-opener. The gurus usually talk your ear off for half an hour without helpful information. I have found your videos full of substance and vital info that can be applied at once to gain results. Thank you for your generous time in creating these videos.
Thanks,Tim! You are now officially my go-to-person in terms of Etsy and business tips. In fact, you can be my mentor in terms of managing our shop. 😅 I am learning so much from all your videos and tomorrow I will apply everything you mentioned here. Hopefully it will help our shop as I haven't had any sale the past week. 🥺 A bit demotivating but I'm trying my best coz this is my only source of income so I have to make it work. It's onyl my 3rd month and I only have 11 listings so I still need to do a lot of work. Go go go! We can do this! 💪
Hope your shop is doing better! I agree, Tim is sooooo helpful. Love and appreciate all the info❤. Some advice I rec'd when first opening my Etsy shop was to open a Pinterest, IG, Facebook etc account, and have at least 20 listings. Social media will bring traffic to your shop. I met some awesome ladies on IG who were already very successful with their shops...2 of which offered to look at my shop (I didn't ask) and gave me tips on how to drive traffic😊.
Thanks for sharing, Tim. This was very helpful to me. Congrats on receiving the call! I have watched several of your videos and find you to be very genuine!
How generous of you to share this info, I am so sorry for that time somebody ripped you off so blatantly, especially after all you give. What a piece of work he or she is. You have the right attitude obviously, Kobe would be proud.
Yes this is my second month in Etsy and you are correct, I can't believe is very easy to get multiple sales using that strategy plus study my niche. You are amazing and thank you for reply about the bad reviews. =)
Wow your videos are awesome! Clear, to the point, easy for beginners to understand, not long and drawn out babble just to hear yourself talk for 45 minutes for 10 minutes of information. Rare find for sure! 😊
As a customer when it comes to photos I always search for any photos that have a zoomed in image of the part of the product that often gets damaged or the part that often gets overlooked. Sometimes I even get suspicious if there aren't enough photos of the product at different angles because I think that he seller is trying to hide that something is wrong with the product. I always appreciate anything extra that a product has that products from other stores might not have, like for example: a pretty inner lining, pockets, a nice zipper pull, I always notice if the product is made out of a better material(so if you're using better quality materials, definitely brag about that even in the title! I always read the full description on a product and if I see that it's mainly made out of polyester or plastic I don't buy it. Even when I talk with my friends about products the first thing out of their mouth is about the materials or ingredients of a product. ). Quality is very important to me even if I have to pay a bit more, because as I see it, I'm still spending less on the product because I will use it longer and it makes me more happy, and I realized that if something is made out of bad quality materials I grow to hate it and I almost never use it.
Such a helpful video. I had to grab a sheet of paper and write down notes. I learned a lot and this is definitely going to impact how I complete my etsy listings. Thank you so much!
👏👏👏Sooo much useful information! I always try to put myself in potential customer's shoes when it comes to keywords and tags for my listings. The tip about not changing keywords/tags on current listings and just making copies of the listing with the altered info is such a good idea!
That was an awesome opportunity for you and I’m grateful you sharing this experience. Your analogy shared on the importance of getting started with Etsy vs a website was spot on 👌🏽 Thanks again for taking time to share such invaluable information and insights. Stay safe and God Speed 🙏🏽💯
Very important to make copies of your listings before making changes. I had a call with someone from etsy as well and they didn't mentioned this at all! So I implemented all the advice in my listings and my sales went down to zero. -___-
He is spot on with everything. Remember: any client you get is a. ETSY customer. If they ever shut you down - you lose everything. Download your client orders while you have access and build your list - especially with repeat buyers. Having a website with your items outside of Etsy is fine but you compete with their website for visitors so choose carefully and build your brand.
Thanks for all the important infos. I was about to re0pen my Etsy shop and looking for new tips...found a few videos but I like yours best as its pretty straight forward and easy to understand. I closed my shop since Covid hit in 2020 and now its time to reopen. but since then, a lot has happened on Etsy. So now I am starting over and trying to get as much info as possible before I start again. BIG THANK YOU Tim, 💟
I recently got that same email and also felt like it was fake lol. Especially since I had just revamped my old shop and was just starting over with no traffic. But it was a good call. She gave me great feedback about my shop, yet, I still barely get any visits per day lol. Maybe like 1 or 2. It's definitely discouraging, but I'm gonna keep going. I rebranded an old shop so there are sales and reviews there, but after not doing anything with it for so long, it's like I'm starting all over again. I'm still trying to figure out whether having different sections of items is a good idea or not. Or if I should just focus on 1 type of product in the shop. It's a digital shop so I'm just trying to see what works. So far nothing does lol. Thanks so much for these videos though. Super helpful!
Really appreciate you sharing this! I changed my tags on most of my products and my sales dropped to 0 for 2-3 days…finally picked up but I am extremely grateful for the tip about making a copy of the listing before making changes. Learned the hard way….
Thanks for sharing! Thinking of starting my own sticker biz for the same reasons you did and how you've shown ur startup 5 month sales as well as this video really helps get over the first timer nerves and help me see what works and doesn't work. Love your filming sets as well
Thank you Tim!! I’m late to the party but you have such a chill vibe that makes me think ( after yrs of being frozen with where to start) I could actually start small but finally get started!! Blessings to you!!👏😊🙏🧧🎉
Another fab video. Thanks very much for sharing this information and these tips. I agree with you 100% over the Etsy vs website question, my sentiments exactly! 😁
I definitely should have watched the full video! Once i heard about SEO and using all tags, i went and updated all my tags but didn't realize that can effect my listings lol I only got 18 sales so it probably wouldn't effect me much 😂🥴
I love question and agree your answer .. etsy had base customer for new buildings business and long time we can have both own questions . Depending.. but for me I start Etsy because everyone already know
usually, when listing has not became viral and doesn't bring visits (even with good seo) it's better do deactivate it and create a new one with changes. their advice to edit it in 90% will not work (from my expirience)
Thank you so much for this video! I'd just recently heard about SEO regarding tags and titles and it's awesome that you've shared more in depth info regarding this topic! I wasn't even thinking about listing titles on cell phones! I have art prints currently that have the names first which makes sense why they aren't selling very well. And while I've updated the title and tags, I didn't realize the 3 word phrasing would work better - I can't thank you enough for this info and I can't wait to apply it to my small shop ^_^b
Hi Tim, when offering personalized mugs. Is it better to include or exclude the word 'personalized' in the first few words of the title? What would be better for SEO in your opinion? Personalized Dad Mug or Dad Mug?
You made a nice video but did they say why the revenue is constantly going up to match your sales? Say one day they hold $40 because that’s what they say your reserve minimum is then the next day you made $15 your reserve goes up. Did they explain why that is to you? Did you ask? It seems sneaky to me you never get your earnings your entitled to with reserve minimum constantly going up to match your daily sales! Wait 45 DAYS to see one sale or how ever many you had 45 days ago! Did you even ask about this I’d for one would love to know that answer without the BS lines they give! Thanks 😊
Thank you so much for the video 🥰 But currently im in a pathetic situation with my store 😣 As im from a country which is not allowed for Etsy payments, im accepting only Paypal. Upto now I have used paypal from a friend of mine as we don’t have payment receiving option to my country ☹️ But unfortunately that paypal account got limited. Im going to close my shop 😫
thank you for you video, just wanna ask if okay to sell variety product? Are this gonna affect my searching appearance as I using many tags?, thank you 🙏
I'm in a highly saturated market and have a very difficult time ranking for any keywords that apply (I make jewelry...). Any suggestions or ideas? I've been on Etsy for almost 4 years now and struggle.
If you're in a saturated market and you don't think you can be come a top 3 shop in the category it might be time to niche down even further. Jewelry is a pretty broad category in itself and you might need to experiment with a smaller niche within jewelry. When there's so much competition in a category you'll see people compete on price, and it will be hard for everyone except those at the very top to make a profit. Hope that helps! :)
@@TimKoa Totally agree! If you use your keywords to be more specific, you might get less visitors, but you should get better conversion. If you think about it, if someone typed in 'Art Nouveau marcasite brooch' they are looking for something specific and if you used those key words you would show up much higher/very probably on the first page and therefore have a better chance at having someone wish to buy as you fulfil what they are looking for.

I have no intention of starting an Etsy business but I've just watched 3 of your videos back-to-back 😅 Love your work, man!

I don’t see having a website is competing because they probs don’t even know that site exists

Question: Do you include free shipping on your listings?
I give free shipping if orders are above a certain amount
Hi, great video, very helpful! Thank you for taking the time to share this. Can you tell us the name of your Etsy shop?
Hey Susan, I shared my shop openly in the past but stopped after I got a bunch of people copying my shop. Hope you understand!
Etsy is bogus. I've done all this and they unlisted an item I handmade because the tags wasn't "accurate", so they claim it was fraud.
hey tim!
first of all thanks for the video
and can you make some video about free shipping ? if we shipping not from USA / Europe.
Super helpful
I was under the impression that the title of the item on Etsy is what is most important for SEO. Not the tags. Am I wrong?
Thank you so much for the video 🥰 But currently im in a pathetic situation with my store 😣 As im from a country which is not allowed for Etsy payments, im accepting only Paypal. Upto now I have used paypal from a friend of mine as we don’t have payment receiving option to my country ☹️ But unfortunately that paypal account got limited. Im going to close my shop 😫
Sorry to hear that Strawberry. I hope you can find something new. Keep looking and be optimistic :)
weird that they reach out to successful shops vs shops that are struggling.
What is A/B listing?
do we repeat the same tags in the tags and and title?
How long are tags allowed to be
Where’s the link to your shop in the description?
Oh no I just changed all my listing tags and titles to try to get more sales but that might have been a bad idea :(
Hi Tim! How did you verify the message was real? I just got a similar message but from a different team.
i looked at your social links, but i don't see your etsy shop
thank you for you video, just wanna ask if okay to sell variety product? Are this gonna affect my searching appearance as I using many tags?, thank you 🙏
Why dont you put a link to your etsy shop?
I'm in a highly saturated market and have a very difficult time ranking for any keywords that apply (I make jewelry...). Any suggestions or ideas? I've been on Etsy for almost 4 years now and struggle.
