Collins Earthworks Volvo EC950F (First in U.K.)

- Collins Earthworks took delivery of the U.K's first Volvo EC950 in July. The 105 tonne F series model in mass excavation spec was put straight to work on a 1 million cubic metre dig near Swadlincote, for the Project Mercia employment park. The 238 acre development is being created by IM properties at junction 11 of the M42.
The EC950F is the key machine on site, loading Volvo A60H ADT 's with it's 6.75 cubic metre bucket using 4 passes in under a minute. The unique blue and white chevron counterweight wrap was requested by the operator based on smaller Collins machines that previously had the design. The 14.5 tonne counterweight is removable for transportation to comply with U.k load sizer regulations.

Nope, never.
These machines are fantastic, when they sit at the same site for years of daily use. Chris needs a machine that can be easily moved from site to site, his new personal Volvo 220 is as big as this can easily be done. His uncle's company 160 is by far the better size for most people, small enough to be cheaper to move, big enough to handle a lot of material in a day.

Why are thise green and orange beacon lights keep on flashing?
They are used to indicate that a seat belt is in use. When the seat belt is securely fastened, the green flashing beacon illuminates.

People plug them in behind themselves then get in trouble when they flash when there out the machine

95 tonnes/105 tons is right answer, it weigh almost same as those Cat 395f and liebherr r980sme.
This size machine is way to big for the majority of sites, it will be best used when it is at a site for longer periods of time for daily use. 2 or 3 days downtime to move it with having to partially take it down and re-assemble every time it is moved to a new site.
all they take off is the bucket and the counter weight..

Pipe Line Project, thay where coming home when I started # 302, heard lots of great story's
Guys said the wild life up there where like pets, thay had never seen heavy equipment, so thay would just walk up to you and your Dozer,ect. That project was in are lifetime in my Opinion the last great pipe line job, thay would bring barge load after barge load down to Seattle to sell the Equipment at auction or used market.

Very slow compared to a cat 395 now where the size of a Komatsu pc1200 or Hitachi ex 1200. Hydraulic pumps are squealing and sound as if there about to die😅
