This vehicle is wonderful. We used it 2 years for my Mother who was having great difficulty getting in and out of our car or truck. It provided a quality of life to enjoy traveling or simply for transportation to medical clinics near the end of almost 99 years of age. It was a real blessing for her and our family. I certainly recommend it for caregivers and the disabled.
Hi everyone, and thank you for your thoughts and ideas about an accessible vehicle. What I am looking for is to support a disable into an ordinary vehicle, but most vehicles that I could lift and wedge her onto a seat don't have the necessary door span to allow me to stand in front of the disabled person to lift her in I'm still working on it to figure it out. Well done Toyota for this contribution, it's a start...
First every single major auto manufacture has experienced some type of recalls this is NOT limited somehow to Toyota. Second this is a very good feature, my father was battling cancer and had to be transported for treatment. Getting him in and out of his Nissan Murano wasn't easy, of course I was driving.
The cost of this would also be moderate (I hope) and more people in the middle - class bracket would be able to access something like this in an ordinary sedan.
So, though this is tremendous for disabled persons to lift themselves in, there ought to be some thought given toward a "Carer" needing to lift the disabled person into the vehicle. Preferably something which is financially more available for those who have given their work up (hence there is not much money) to do the caring. My thought is along the line of something that is balanced on an upright steel post with swiveling seat, which may be manually wound up or down.
@Roboman2121 if u have elders on wheelchairs it can be very useful ;D but then this is one feature i don't want on my car xD Getting up by my self is totally faster.
@shriya13able Where did you find 'gay' in this demonstration of an accessible vehicle, is it something you were looking for? Could Toyota use that as a selling point for gay people like you? It would be interesting if you and your friends could elaborate on how this would suit your preferences, let us know.
@johnd4777 what do you think it matters to us? We're entitled to our own opinions. Don't get so offended someone just expresses their love toward a company. Besides, how could their names be stupid if they're FOREIGN and you don't know the meaning behind them? yes, the designs might be 'sissy', but that doesn't mean that they're not innovative, or sacrifice style for function. Before forming such a concrete opinion, have you driven each and every car from all the brands you named and assessed t
@shriya13able Looks like you do give a damn, did your medication wear off? You seem angry, if you recently split with a 'life partner' then maybe you need a new person in your life to ease the pain. Seek help in your community, you are not alone.
There is no seat for skinny/fat people. The seat in all car is for everyone. If you are fat, you better request a special order from Toyota or you can take this one and manage to fit in.
Yawn! The design is all wrong. The seat should be mechanical as the door opens it pulls the chair out and then a button to lower and rise that's it! fast out fast in

this is great for handicapped people. awesome idea!
ya for ppl like my grandpa, alway have problem getting onto that seat
I'm really fat. But with this car I can still gain another 70 pounds or so without straining myself getting in and out. Awesome!
That's really a great lift!!!
wow what a car
@bangiscool the chair on the other side flips forward and can slide forward...or you can remove the centre seat.

6:09 a man says"here i come"!!!!!!
+Epic Triceratops Wow haha
should take a look at model where the seat can detach and become an remote or manual wheelchair.
Mobility equipment prices = Arm and a Leg!
any chance of a 180* swivel for driver seat ?
i bet its an expensive feature. they should have a deal like insurance can cover for it or something.
tats cool, but can it go any slower?
