Eric Liddel ran in 1924 in Paris Olympics and what is fascinating is that because he didn't run the 100 meter he was scheduled to run the 400 meters which HE WON. It wasn't his race at all. And before the race someone handed him a verse : 'He honors those who honor Him (in Isaiah I think)'. After that he stopped running and he went as a missionary to China and he was emprisoned in Japan where he died of a brain cancer after helping and caring for other prisoners. And the 100 meter was won by an english man (alexander abrahams, I think) who was a jew so no problem for him to run on Sunday. So England was still honored with two gold medals.
