I'm glad you seem respectful, I don't like seeing other hunters just laughing when they make a shot even if it's a bad one. I'm glad I found your channel
I was just talking to my husband about this. I love your channel because it’s so much more relatable than most hunting channels. I’ll never kill the monsters that Bowmar and SeekOne kill week after week. To see how proud you are of your Michigan bucks makes me feel proud of my humble Oklahoma bucks. Nice hunting, Chris. Still can’t wait for the Kansas buck!
Hah So they can see who can take the longest most unethical shot?? They prob already attempted this crossover but only mamed the animals and had no useable footage.
@@tobythewuss Dude, mistakes happen. No bow hunter tries to take bad shots. The buck took a step when he shot. It’s part of bow hunting. Nobody is perfect.
Great video, great content as always Chris! I am a NWLP Michigan resident and hunter myself. I have some fantastic ground to hunt in Ohio, but I still love my big woods hunts the most! Keep it up in the mitten!
It's good to see that even the greats make bad shots, it's just a part of the art of archery, it happens to everyone, way to keep at it Chris, so inspiring
Chris, awesome video. It was great to see the proper way to handle a shot on a deer that was a bit questionable. Watching many of your videos, I can't help but think of Jon B, a youtuber who focuses on fishing. Both of you are excellent at editing, and probably similar in age. Are you familiar with his work? I feel like you two would get along quite well.
Deffinatly a northern michigan swamp buck. They all seem to have those wide short racks. I had my biggest buck to date take a step this year and lost blood shortly after shooting. 5 of us looked around for over 8 hours each for it with no luck. I've been beating myself up over it knowing he most likely didn't make it. Glad you found your deer!
Solid work man. Hunting is a lot of work! Got outta archery when I went into the Army, but now that I’m out, definitely looking into getting back in the sport!
Good choice backing out. Stuff happens that you can’t control. Just curious if you think using a hinge release hurt you there, with the pause before release? Ive not shot a hinge before, so I’d have no experience using one. Just wondering what your thoughts were looking back at it for hunting situations?
Big fan here.! Thanks for sharing your Michigan adventures.! I myself am a Michigander i share the same passion .! Congratulations one heck of a 2020 season.!
Hey man I just got a brand new v3 and I love it but I have a question about arrows for deer hunting and your the best guy to ask I’m shooting a 55lb bow with a 28” draw length I’m only 16 so still growing but what arrow and arrow weight would you recommend for me?thank you
Jus to have a place to hunt is a blessing!!! In my state of VA it's far and few between. And to do it with your Pop, well that's the "tip-top" of it all. Harvest or not. I'm grateful to have one piece of private. Congrats on your harvest man. Looks like meat sticks to me!!! I've been experimenting w/ meat stick/sausage recipe's lately. Got a couple tastin good and couple that need a little work. Can't do that sittin on the couch right. Keep gettin it sir. Have a good one.
As a deer tracker with a dog can tell you most trackers, myself included, believe in eating 12 hours before tracking a liver shot. We have learned from experience
Do you think if you were using a thumb or index release you could have gotten the shot off quicker? Sounded to me like you started to execute the shot, your click happened, which gave the buck a little time to move before the shot broke.
Do use a surprise release ? I keep hearing a clicking sound before you shoot in your videos. What if a deer moves and you can’t stop the release from firing ??
I started hunting 4 years ago with no property and I’ve shot 3 deer over 150 inches. If you want it bad enough you’ll find it. Real hunting is defined by shooting mature deer 5 years plus though not by the score of the antlers.
@@hunt2hook712 Not when you hunt properties with pressure around you that the deer never get to the age class over 3. Doesn't matter how many you pass when they get killed by everyone else. We spent 10 yrs passing 2,3,4yr old deer only to see em dead by neighbors.
@@claychristensen1001 where do you live you have shitty neighbors hahahah actually. I thing aggravates me more than that. Like if you feel the need to massacre a bunch of deer shoot some nanny does. My best advice is knock on doors. I think I knocked on 178 doors last year if you knock on enough you will get people that say yes. Especially if you can get property’s on suburban areas where there isn’t pressure....you’ll find the studs there and its not as hard as people think it is. If you knock on 50 doors you’ll get 4-6 property’s and that’s all you need. Literally will take you one day
@@hunt2hook712 yeah its all about the $ here. No suburbs. Problem is they've shot up most of the doe population as well. There are just tons of hunters. Which is a good thing for the sport. My Nebraska farm however is a different story. But here in southern Oklahoma the killing tradition is alive and well. We get to go north about every other year.
As far as shitty neighbors go, well I figure who am I to judge them on what they decide to shoot. If they are happy then so be it. Its what makes our country great. I will wait on my one opportunity every 2-3 years. That's the best I can do and enjoy Gods creation in my hours spent waiting.
Hey Chris 98 % sure my buddy has trail camera pictures of the goofy buck from your video the other day. Tried to send you pictures on IG and FB back when you posted the picture when you shot it. Lmk
Seemed like when you clicked you're safety on release he jumped forward a bit might want to take note of that I could be wrong tho I wasn't there 😅 still a nice buck Chris bigger than any ive shot an ive been hunting over 20 years no joke
If he’s using the Ultraview hinge still they don’t have a safety, but an option to have a click or no click when it’s at the end of the shot cycle to warn you that it’s coming.
Practice....... a lot! Build up those muscles and muscle memory. Before archery season I'm out every day and shoot at least 2 dozen arrows every evening.
Thanks for showing respect to the animals you harvest! Keep up the great content

I don't know why but it always cracks me up when Chris says "meh" to get an animal to stop

That would be so cool then do a Mathews vs Hoyt
Yea
Live animals are unpredictable, that's what makes bowhunting successfully so difficult. Glad you recovered him, congrats!
I love how you get excited with the smaller bucks just as with the big ones! Congrats. 👏🏼

A tip: you can watch movies on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching loads of movies lately.
@Kelvin Briggs definitely, have been using flixzone for months myself :D
Awesome!!! Your buck reminds me of the 8 i shot last year on oct 28th. Wi plublic. Short tines and wide.
Congrats! Nice buck! scared me a little because the click on the release was a little late and he started walking. Gotta love Midwest hunting

Any reason why you are running the integrate rest on the 27 over the hamskea?

Why the expandables for mule deer and fixed blades for whitetail? Just curious
