This is absolutely fabulous. I loved the mod and the fact that besides modding, the boombox was cleaned and restored. Stylish boombox, by the way. Also the trick to tune the motor was genius!

I like the bluish coloured dial led's very proper colour for it.
Those Radios were Good back than.. Thay had Shortwave on there...not just AM and FM like the junk thay have today....I had a JVC..back in the day...Real Japanese One That was cool...I had it setting on the window seal..Look out to the back yard....that made me think of Bermuda or the Bahamas..looking at it..The Beach etc. Even Amity!!!

I live for the day when Boomboxes (styled like the 80's versions like this one...not the new modern stuff) make a comeback and companies start making brand new ones that look like this again. Not sure if it will ever happen, but I didn't think Vinyl Albums would come back and be in demand again...and they did. Teddy, may I ask you a question? If I buy an old boombox on eBay and it has it's this-and-that problems, could I send it to you and pay you to completely refurbish it and maybe even add Bluetooth to it? Would you consider something like that? It's cool if not, but it can't hurt to ask. Love this video and I plan on watching more of yours.

Adding the Bluetooth was the one of the requests from customers. So I tried it and was able to restore beat up boombox with Bluetooth mod. I have learned many things after that and made me more comfortable to do any further mod. So yes, I do the restoration with the fees. For my time and efforts and size and condition of the boombox I asked fees from $150 to $400. When they agreed to the fees they sent or brought their babies to me. If you want to go easy way, use AUX in on its back. Connect Bluetooth unit from AUX (RCA JACK) and set the function switch to the LINE IN, then you can listen the music through Bluetooth. Servo button, you mean soft touch button,not piano or push button. If so, they need the motor runs right after the power button or tape selection switch on. This means even you do not listen the music, the motor keep running. And once the play or other soft touch button is pressed, the kick start gear will engaged to play or do other work for the tape. So if the drive belt is cut off, all touch button will not work.
Any model you can use, I bought them from China. Here is links from amazon seller. amzn.to/2zObiNM All I wanted was reduce DC voltage from 6V - 24V step down to 9V - 12V.
OK, when you restore tape player/recorder, the heads and most of the metal around heads are magnetized. Thar will cause many problem for the cassette player/recorder. So you want to demagnetize it for the nice sound. This SONY demagnetizer is actually for reel to reel tape recorder player. But indeed I can use it for cassette deck. Teddy, what state are you in I am trying to estimate my potential shipping cost. I have a Conion 100-F in bad shape its been in my moms garage for over 20 years. There was stuff piled on top of it and so forth, but I have seen you do some incredible work and I am hopeful my unit can be brought back with a total restoration.

Its bad it doesn't come on, the back case is cracked, the tuning glass window and station dial is missing, the cassette door is off and rusted, its probably hopeless but I have seen your incredible work and seen you as a master surgeon in electronics /miracle craftsman and that makes me hopeful. For the classic that it is I am thinking is why it maybe worthwhile to restore. I have a GF-777 and thought it be nice to have two of the three very best ever ! I have never opened it so I am thinking worst case senario
