4K Tribute to Joel Miller
Plot-
The Last of Us Part II takes place five years after the events of the first game and about 25 years after the outbreak of the Cordyceps Brain Infection began. Ellie, who is now 19 years old, will return as the main protagonist whom players will assume control of, as well as Joel in his mid-fifties.[4] The story will be split into four seasonal chapters, starting with Jackson County, Wyoming, during the winter months. The pair, having settled down in Tommy's settlement, live in relative peace within the thriving community. While there, Ellie has even managed to form friendships with Dina and Jesse. However, the survivors face constant threats from the Infected and other hostile survivors.
When a tragic event disrupts the tranquility of her life, Ellie embarks on a journey in a search for vengeance to carry out justice against a mysterious, dangerous cult known as the Seraphites. As she hunts down those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the traumatizing physical and emotional consequences of her actions.[5].
Ellie is fueled by hate, which will be a major theme within the story.[6] The game will also primarily be set in Seattle, Washington.[7]

Part II characters
Ellie (Ashley Johnson) - The protagonist of the game. Ellie is a 19-year-old survivor of the Cordyceps Brain Infection outbreak and the only person known to be immune to the infection. Ellie lives in a large community in Jackson. She sports a tattoo over the bite scar on her right arm to hide her immunity. After witnessing a horrific attack, Ellie embarks on a personal quest for vengeance.
Joel (Troy Baker) - Joel is Ellie's father figure and a former smuggler, who bonded with her years ago while transporting her across the country to the Fireflies in the hopes of creating a vaccine for the CBI outbreak. Unbeknownst to Ellie, Joel killed the Fireflies who were going to kill Ellie to create a cure.
Tommy (Jeffrey Pierce) - Tommy is Joel's younger brother and is one of the leaders of the community in Jackson, alongside his wife Maria. Tommy is the only person aware of Joel's killing of the Fireflies and deception of Ellie. Tommy, like Ellie, spends the game on his own quest for vengeance.
Dina (Shannon Woodward) - Dina is a close friend and love interest of Ellie and a resident of the community in Jackson. She is Jesse's ex-girlfriend, and kisses Ellie which causes a stir in the community. Dina accompanies Ellie throughout the game as their relationship develops.
Jesse (Stephen Chang) - Jesse is a friend of Ellie, and Dina's ex-boyfriend. He is a resident of the community in Jackson, and accompanies Ellie on her quest.
Abby (Laura Bailey) - The secondary protagonist of the game. Abby is a member of the Washington Liberation Front and begins the game of attempting to locate a resident of the community in Jackson. Abby is forced to deal with the fallout of her own quest for revenge.
Owen (Patrick Fugit) - Owen is a member of the WLF and Abby's childhood friend and ex-boyfriend. He is in a relationship with Mel and is having a child with her.
Mel (Ashly Burch) - Mel is a medic and a member of the WLF. She is pregnant with Owen's child, which causes tension between her and Abby.
Manny (Alejandro Edda) - Manny is a member of the WLF and a friend and roommate of Abby's. He accompanies her to Jackson and later in the game.
Lev (Ian Alexander)- Lev is a former member of a religious cult called the Seraphites set to wipe out all 'sin' in the world after the outbreak. Lev is branded an apostate by the Serephites for shaving his hair and is hunted by them alongside his older sister, Yara. Lev becomes Abby's companion and assists her.
Yara (Victoria Grace)- Yara is Lev's older sister who left the Seraphites with him, and is severely injured by them during their escape. She later accompanies Abby during the game.

Not the same thing. We knew Joel for 7 years, since 2013, he had a special place in our hearts. Arthur, we met in RDR2, the same game he died in. So, basically, we had just met him.

I think people hate the game because of Joel's death but they need to look deeper. Naughty dog created a game that immersed raw emotion from players even after playing the game. They achieved what they intended whether people enjoyed it or not, I thought it was brilliant because of the way it made you feel and not alot of studios can do that
DRAKE_FORTUNATE Why would Joel and Tommy give his name with a new group of people he doesn’t know after 20 years of being cautious because Ellie’s anger wouldn’t have affected it and lot of studios have done it and have done it better but but last of us 2 tries to make you feel something by them randomly killing characters for shock but other then that and Joel’s death you can’t feel anything. The story was a good revenge story but it came out of nowhere as the last of us could have been about Ellie learning about the lie with the fireflies trying to kill Joel and maybe believe they found a way to get a vaccine from Ellie but they just make a NPCs daughter kill Joel and then make us trie to feel for her when we can’t even know what type of person she is, she kills Joel even if he and Tommy saved her, she comes back for the sibling even though she has no reason to, messes with Owen and Mills relationship. The game doesn’t feel thought out to the end

Joel was not a good person, he wasn’t a bad person, but he wasn’t good either. He did a lot of shitty things to get by. The saddest part is that I think by the time Abby killed him he’d changed for the better and become a legitimately good man, he wasn’t even the person she wanted vengeance against anymore. He didn’t deserve to die.

Before Joel took that one final blow, I felt he looked at Ellie for the last time and thought without her forgiveness He had nothing. It was almost as if he wanted to go. RIP big man, playing as you was one of the best gaming experiences I ever had.

Joel Miller. A bitter broken man for 20 years, Sarah died in his arms. A father not being able to protect his daughter is not a father to themselves. Ellie came into his life as another job to get weapons back. Through the whole cross country trip Joel did everything and anything with Ellie that he would have done for Sarah. We saw a man, a father who lost his whole world and reason for fighting in the world come back to life because of Ellie. Joel’s arc was complete. He learned to love again and believe in the good of people because of Ellie. Joel died doing the right thing. Protecting a woman out on a patrol. Who later turned out to be an enemy. Joel was not perfect and he wasn’t necessarily a good man but when we saw what the world did to him he became what we all aspire to be for people we love. He’ll always be with us. R.I.P Joel Miller 2013-2020

I was gonna get a ps4 and get it, i played ps3 when my brithers friend lived with us, and i loved the first one, and loved Joel as a character, but finding out he dies, i wont be able to do it to watch him die, the game was like another life, to help me cope especially Joel's character

When Joel got shot in the leg, I was soooo naive I was thinking "How is he supposed to help Ellie if he can't walk ??" How stupid I can be sometimes... The whole game is about Ellie avenging Joel. You should play it. The flashbacks about things that happened between Joel and Ellie in the 4 years between games alone are worth it to me

I'm not done with the game and I'm barely getting through it. I love Joel so much. The first night I played part II after his death I was dead inside. I was crying so much I don't even know what happened after his death. I cried myself to sleep and cried myself a fever. Days later I've lost my appetite. And I'm depressed. It's hard for me to finish Part II I see things in the game that remind me of Joel and my heart hurts. Ellie sang "take on me" and I cried so much. I'm crying now. Why did they do this to Joel!?! Just why!?!? 😥😪😠😡🤧
For me they made some great moments and memories of Joel that made it worthwhile completing the game... so do try... however, I fully understand how you feel. ☹

You know, alot of people don't like how Joel died but, I love the story, because I can kind of relate to it, I lost my father in a tragic way, he hung himself, he was a cop and some stuff went down, that involved a 5 year case, in the meantime he had to get another job, he started drinking more, and well you know how it goes, my mother took us to somewhere else, new school, new sports, new friends, and my dad hung himself. Anyways I was always kind of blaming his death on my mother because she didn't really try to help him get out of his alcoholic behavior, but I can't blame my mom for that, she did that for our sayfty, anyways, I understand the pain of losing someone you love, especially your father, especially like that, I'm still mourning but, sometimes I just break down, it's weird cause I always joke about it with my freinds and, well yea what I'm trying to say is I understand why things happend in the last of us, you know we all want happy endings but a sad ending, is the ones that I never forget.
Games tend to help us forget about real life for a bit. Naughty dog decided to remind us about realities of life instead. Never thought I would get an experience like that from a game in my lifetime. I believe those who are truly sensitive and honest about life and the world we live in, this game reflects that and becomes a masterpiece.

These 2 games really shows everyone how the little things in life can change you. It all started off with joel not wanting to transport ellie to the fireflies and throughout the game you see them build a bond as if she was actually his daughter, to see them grow so close on each other is absolutely beautiful. He risked his life to save hers in so many way and at the end he completed his mission and was supposed to walk away and carry on with life but instead he went back and saved her because he saw her as his daughter and couldn't live with the fact that she was going to die. All joel wanted was to make ellie happy and have that bond with her and keep her safe, ellie pretty much hated his guts after she found out that joel lied to her and she didn't get to enjoy his last moments with her and she realizes now that she doesn't have joel and it's very heart touching to see how much of an impact a stranger can make on you. RIP joel we'll forever love and miss you as a father and as a character♥️

Justin Draxx exactly, I thought the second game was pretty good. Not as great as the first but like it tore us apart and made us learn how to forgive, we were on a journey with Ellie. I feel like at the end of the game she realized that she didn’t want that kind of ending for herself because killing Abby wouldn’t have brought back Joel. Absolutely beautiful

When she says "I was supposed to die in that hospital her life would have mattered" imo yea it would for a few months only it would have caused a bigger war if people knew there was a cure. Everyone would selfishly fight to get it?!
They wouldn't even be able to make a cure with ellie because you cant make a vaccine for a fungal infection so she would ha e died for nothing
@@Nannowatts19482 a character within the game said that Ellie was not the only one with immunity, they tried to make a cure before, which killed the others with immunity, but without luck. So you are correct, Ellie could've died for nothing.
Their scientists right? How did they not see these multiple flaws in their plan?

All I wanted to play one level as being joel even in them Ellie's flashbacks for old times sake and they glued him to a horse and made us play as Ronda Rousey for 10hrs 🤦🏻.
