Outstanding video jim does it a bit of justice the shear size of it is incredible 4 motors would fit 4 737 fuselage s in there it's pretty amazing tbh the noise off the APU before a balls even kicked love that video
Great vid, I was watching this plane diverting up to Glasgow on Flightradar24. I live under the flight path into Glasgow but unfortunately the planes were landing west to east so I missed the chance to see 2 of these big beauties flying over my house 🫤
Had the joy of an A380 from LAX to LHR a couple of years back, and it was amazing. Had flown out to LA on the upper deck of a B747-400 and arrived with a pounding headache, sweaty from the humidity and popped ears. The journey back was silent, perfect temperature and so comfortable. It was an overnight flight and was the best sleep I’ve ever had on any mode of transport. I love the 747. She’ll always be the most beautiful aircraft to look at, but the A380 took long haul to another level. Going to try and get myself on to an A350 and see how it compares to a B777.
I used to travel to Singapore a lot for work and would always chose the A380 flight between DXB and Singapore. Once I got business class ticket and it was just superb - spend most of the flight at the bar! Great planes!
A350 is great compared to 777. Flew to Singapore on the 350 and flew back on the 777. The difference is amazing. You can tell it's a next generation aircraft.
The A380 is not only a beautiful plane, wonderful to fly in as a passenger, but “up close and personal “!! The other year, we flew to UK from NZ via Dubai on Emirates, both flights A389, but in Dubai we did not use the air bridges to board but were bussed to the planes. We then climbed up their stairs!! Only the. Do you get a sense of the scale - ant v mountain!! Incidentally there whole boarding was an absolute mess with three sets of steps being used and no order of boarding by row - chaos ensued. But my favourite plane to fly in by far in the 6 decades I have been flying.
looks like it was a very efficient job by GLA ops and EK ground staff to get this done GLA does get a lot of stick !!! , but hats off too GLA for a great effort .
That was great filming Jim you the perspective of how high and plabe actually is I knew it was but not in the perspective as for those air hostesses so elegant but I've got to admit I can't watch their advert I nearly past out when I saw it with that young lady standing where she was thanks Jim enjoy the rest of your day
Hi Janet, as soon as I saw that plane diverting to Glasgow I jumped into the car as I knew it would go to stand 37 and its as close as you'll get to The Big Beast! I waited about 1.5 hours until passengers and cerw were finally offloaded. I though it may hhadn;tave went straight back to Manchester, perhaps after taking on some fuel. Looks like the flight crew's hours must have expired. We wondered if the flight crew off the inbound Glasgow flight from Dubai (Which didn't circle an airport for 1.5 hours) might have enough time to jump in the seat and take it to Manchester but alas not. I caught the Glasgow flight "Destination Dubai" livery A380 land and as it did the Captain and 1st Officer decanted and it was all over for the Manchester flight! Espensive divert for Emirates!
@@JimRamsayJWR Hi Jim. Great filming Mate. I heard on Airliners Live this Morning that this flight was diverting to Glasgow. I was too late finding out to go get ready and get over to see it, Or too Lazy maybe, lol. Even though I live in Erskine. Hope to see some more of Your clips again or come over when Arek is back again and maybe have A chat ? Keep up The Great work, Cheers Jim.
I tracked this on flight path it was circling above my house at about 20000 feet for about 40 minutes because of the runway closure at Manchester then it headed for Glasgow.
Easy answer to that - Glasgow Airport has 1 A380 Gate - Gate 30 - They had placed another Manchester divert (Aer Lingus A333) onto that stand, which they moved to let the DXB-GLA EK A380 which lands at the end of the VT onto that stand.
As much as the footage is clear with close up views there's nothing that I can see that show the two Emirates A380s on the apron together. To be honest I've watched the footage several times and it looks like it's the same aircraft. Or am I totally wrong and in fact the footage is of just one of the A380s rather than the 'double' as stated in the title of the upload. 🤔
Well, they had paid thousands of pounds to fly to Manchester, only to land in Glasgow. GLA only has a single A380 gate and it was already in use, so it’s better a bus than nothing at all.
Fantastic catch mate. 2x A380s at GLA. Awesome to see
Cheers Jonathan!
Departed from GLA-DBX on the one with the blue livery last month,it was a smooth flight and on time, exceptional service from the emirates team also.

Great piece of film well done.

@@nickgolding5786 No idea Nick
@@jimbaird4651 I missed it landing but was lucky to catch them putting a tug on it and pulling it into remote stand 37. Arek?

Very curious why did they off load everyone on the tarmac and not the gate

@@seansparks2803 The "Destination Dubai" livery A380 lands near the end of the VT. That is the DXB-GLA flight.
2 a389 due to match delayed
Imagine paying thousands of pounds first class to be taken to the terminal on a BUS. Only in Glasgow 🤷♂️🤦♂️
