  • Soil erosion has become a growing problem as Climate Change destroys soil through droughts and floods. But a World Bank supported practice known as Conservation Agriculture not only protects the soil, it also saves farmers time and money.

I had a land slide issue in front of my house. I put 4 bags of cow manure in the rock supporting wall and planted grass to hold it. I also threw bags of mulch on top and walked away. I fived my landslide problem for under 20 usd fir the compost. Oh, and it holds inane amounts of water

Just a correction. You said the 19th century saw the dust bowl destroying the plains. It was the early 1930s to the 1950s. That's the 20th century. The dust bowl happened in the 20th century. Otherwise, love it.

Tiling is needed on clay soil such as the podzolic, especially on garden beds. The reason is to amend the soil soft enough to let oxygen in and for roots to penetrate. Natural compost is added to help amend and neutralize the ph of the soil. Not all soils are treated the same.

you can do no till without herbicide. you just need decently low seed cost

Glad to hear that the World Bank is pro Regenerative Agriculture. An increased use of herbicide certainly isn't a sustainable answer though.

It is not regenerative agriculture if it doesn't include multi species cover crops which also almost completely eliminates the need for herbicides, pesticides, and irrigation. Just no till by itself doesn't do much. I live next to a no till field and there's not much difference and they spray the heck out of that field. I wish I lived next to a regen. ag. field.

Im so sick the disease scares from dust blowing from other countries because of monocultured crops' soil degradation. Start your gardens now. no till, permaculture, whatever, just something. Rationing seems like something our great grandparents had to deal with in the dust bowl, but its quickly becoming what we or the next generation are going to have to face.

LOL. The little guy is now making better food than the garbage in the store you call" food" . The future of little farmers that go no till will surpass the big moron system of tillers
