In the original episode (and there were 2 karr episodes by the way. in the first Ep. karr and kitt play a game of chicken and karr turns away and goes over the edge of a steep cliff.. the second ep they turbo boost into each other) also karr was a prototype but he had one HUGE difference.. He was programmed to protect himself at all costs.. Kitt was programmed to protect all living life even if it meant destroying himself in the process of protecting..
