One area of gameplay I wasn't able to check out was town exploration and interacting with NPCs outside of a dungeon. This has me curious to see just how large this game gets and how the gameplay loop evolves over hours of gameplay. However, one thing is certain: this is an exceptionally gorgeous game. It features all these little touches of quality that on paper might seem overwhelming, but they are so satisfying on-screen.
Thankfully, we won't have to wait long for Metaphor: ReFantazio because it's releasing on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.

The music is just divine.
The world is super intriguing to me from the character and archetypes , music and overall hud elements
I can't wait to check it out
The amount of visual overload is freaking out my brain. I hope i can get used to it
I loveed p3 remake UI as it was stylish but also really refined and easy to read. .
This looks like it would be horrible to watch someone play since you can't tell when they input button prompts, so the amount of visual vomit can be extremely uncomfortable.. but i imagine it should feel better for the player.

I love the transition effects during battles. Going from enemy to ally phase, and vice-versa. Those UI flourishes are really something special.
I cross my little fingers that this preview demo will become publically available (or a new demo) for everyone before release!

@@Troop- and? They might do one one day. Plus strikes had one even if it was made with another studio it was still very much under atlus supervision and had a demo.

That's literally the only thing that makes me hesitant to buy this at launch. I'm not buying the same game twice just for some extra content again as much as I love P5 Royal.

@@john_7000 I mean that's pretty insensitive, you can't dismiss their ( well-founded ) concern like that. Atlus is known to release games with additions not long after they've been out. Not all of us have the budget or time to buy and play games twice or even thrice, especially when they're as long as say, Persona.
@@john_7000 Its the principle of the matter. If they released this game and later a more complete version BUT with an option for people to buy the new stuff for 20 quid say like dlc then fine but atlus dont usually do that. They release a game for 60 then a year or 2 later a better version with new content for 60 again. I dont wana spend 60 again just for the 20 percent new stuff. Its greedy. Its the Principle of the matter.

Very interesting indeed 😍. They started doing remakes for the Persona series which is awesome. Just hope they do remakes for the Shin MegamiTensei series too. Already got my Metaphor ReFantazio reserved and ready to go along with Shin Megami Tensei V.
THIS is the game I've been waiting for from Atlus! Part Etrian Odyssey with free roam, part Persona, with player agency, exploration, and replayability. CANNOT WAIT!
Gonna wait for the re-release (and hopefully available on Switch 2)!

@@lain11644 wrong, his record is intact as of the present day, every single piece of info he has given has been correct so far, inform yourself better. So yes, you will be able to buy both Metaphor and even Persona 6 on Switch 2.
@@jcrdgz194 You should google the phrase "His sega leaks? Internal 2021-2023 presentations showing their next years plans." The only info he had was on P3R and Sega revamp projects. He knows nothing about P6 or Switch 2.
@@lain11644 It seems there's a confusion, he had some presentations which he then used as leverage to gain new leaks from other internal leakers, so he did have information, he traded for his measly presentations.
I did not realize this was an SMT game! I was shocked to see Rakukaja in the commands.
It's not part of SMT, they just keep some of the spell names.
It's by far my most anticipated of the game period. It looks sooooo good.
Slightly worried that the "action combat" will feel super repetitive quickly. But the game still looks so fun!
The action combat is not the focus of the game it only for weaker enemies and stunning stronger enemies while also dodging the meat of the game is the turn base combat, plus u can equip different weapons to slash enemies in real time not just with the swords

Ah Atlus, always giving it their best with games like this. MRF seriously looks like it has passion poured into it in every corner.
Atlus has hit two homeruns this years, let hope the metaphor also becomes a homerun solidifying itself as the third pillar.

Got this game and Dragonball Z Sparking on my radar. Going to be tough on deciding on which one to buy day one and the other later once it goes on sale.
Im so burnt out of Atlus games and demons. I was hoping they would switch it up. Just feels like more of the same
So combat system very similar to Trails through Daybreak as far as action that can transition to turn based. I'm definitely game for that.
No they are not similar, this game won't let u defeat stronger enemies with real time only stunning which I am all here for, cuz trails through daybreak combat is Soo clunky from what I played.
@@john_7000 so both let you hack and slash and then press the left face button on the right hand side to switch into turn based combat where you can utilize additional combat abilities but Metaphor makes the one change that you can't defeat stronger monsters in action mode. That's sounds pretty similar to me.
But does it have an equivalent of Dondoko Island?

Well tbf, you're still just gonna be chilling and hanging out with your party members on the walking ship. Doing activities like cooking and reading books, taking a bath, etc. So there's still the mundane activities.
Isn't this just a reskin of P5 but without the social sim? The combat systems look near-identical
For an answer to that, you can watch the showcases on Atlus' youtube channel. Showcase 2 is all about the combat system, if that's what you're looking for.

Music is all over the place. Lets see our heads after a 6 h playing session...its nier but its not nier.
I remember this game was strictly for Xbox. Glad someone realized better investment. Not really impressed with opera music. It sounds fantastic but not really pushing me to keep going more like lowering the volume but it is a demo
So I see both free action and turn based combat, how does that work Noisy?
Free action is used to defeat enemies weaker than you w/o and skipped turned based combat. Enemies stronger than you free action gives you a preemptive strike, which stuns the enemy as well. You can also just straight up go into turned based combat regardless of all this.

It should be atleast 30 fps or more from the specs, and the Steam Deck has played heavier games than this game

@@AHeyk Studio Zero is the team making this, you quite literally couldn't get more of the A-team from Atlus working on this than that team.
