"Black Lagoon is the lead single from Still Corners 4th album Slow Air. With clean toned electric guitar, a driving beat, and the smoky crooning of Tessa Murray, Black Lagoon contains the shimmering atmospherics Still Corners are well known for. The cinematic video that accompanies the track finds the band on a journey from the desert to the ocean in search of a lost Eden. Filmed over a month in California, Arizona and Texas and shot on a small handheld cinema camera, the band travels across America in a white mustang convertible searching and reaching into the unknown."
Lyrics
Turning back into the tide
Watching the beach from the other side
We swim with the moon
To an island in the black lagoon
Dreaming as the hours fade away
Watching as the sunlight does the same
Everything we are is on the line
Let's pretend it's not us tonight
Can't get away
Running back into the tide
Sapphire eyes up the sudden night
We swim with the moon
To an island in the black lagoon
Ford Mustang Convertible ,first series 1964-1973 .I love the Still Corners and also the classic cars
I love Still Corners, a great sound, great lyrics. Can't get enough of their music. I'm not easy to impress; I've heard a lot of great music in my 66 years. But Still Corners gives me hope; there are still talented young bands that can make wonderful music. It's kind of comforting to me, in a way.
Joe Veazey yeah but it's sad that there's a high chance that they remain undervalued in a world dominated by meaningless rap songs
Hey, Jeffrey, thanks for the referral. A first listen was good. They have a clean sunny day sound and I like it. I'll be paying attention to Fazerdaze!
I AM 50 . ITS NICE TO SEE THAT PEOPLE IN OUR AGE STILL WANT TO DISCOVER NEW BANDS.MOST OF OLD PEOPLE STAY STICK IN WAHAT HAVE MARKED THEM IN THEIR CHILDHOOD AND STRICTLY REFUSE TO GIVE A CHANCE TO NEW BANDS.
AND THST IS SOMETHING UNFAIR. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE GOOD MUSIC
ALL THE BEST FROM GREECE
Agree. I'm the same age, but listen to 60 new music. It's all about frame of mind and time.....by the way, look up this good band from Greece, Ta Toy Boy.
check out this excellent band from Greece : SEDIMENT BRUISE
I played this song in my dad's car wherever we went for all of 2019, and now it such nostalgia
There music is so nostalgic
its only been 2 years though
@@andreitarkovsky3214 Nostalgia isn't defined by time, it's defined by a longing for a memory or event of the past. You can feel nostalgic over something that happened a week ago.
@@andreitarkovsky3214 2 years is enough time for a lot of stuff to change and though it feels like it wasn't that long ago, the feeling is definitely different
Keep it
I have heard 2 songs in my whole life from these people. Within 5 minutes. 2 of the best beats I’ve ever heard in my life. Makes me really happy.
exactly what happend to me now.
Timeless Music 😊
"We swim with the moon to an island in the black lagoon" is such a great line! Creates a strong image!
A very very deep line, i feel u bro
Ok Sherlock👌
You can listen to this song a dozen times and it still sounds great
I only discovered them in the digital age after retirement. Growing up a rocker, I still appreciate forms of music that skirt the periphery. This is a great sound !
Makes me want to start the old band back up....
This song is hypnotically beautiful all the way through , from start to finish. Still Corners is just terrific !

To Still Corners - I'm writing this on 4/29/2023. I just discovered your music this past week. I love everything I've heard so far - Twilight Hours is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Make a fool happy and come back to Austin, TX!
Still Corners is the
musical project of songwriter/producer Greg Hughes and vocalist Tessa
Murray. Every single one of Still Corners' creations is fantastically chill & mesmerizing. "It's the Trip that keeps us alive"- So poetic and true, indeed- This
life's a much more enjoyable & comfortable endeavor thanks to
arrangements like this one. I will always come back to listen again & again...and layer my playlists with their mystical magic music until the next age!...

Thank you

Bands like this, Alvvays, Sunflower bean, etc are the absolute best bands to come out of the last decade. This is the kind of music that touches you and stays with you forever. And they won't play stuff like this on the radio
Yes of cus ,talk more of playing it on an African/ nigerian radio
❤ sunflower
One of the coolest songs I’ve ever heard in my life. An absolutely amazing joining of genre. A progression not seen and rarely explored. This band needs more attention. This is an instant classic
You listened to the live version on the A38 channel?
of course, i agree
Still Corners on another level💯💯💯
It's like the sound of 70s/early 80s
Not sure I agree this is lounge music to me it's simple instrumental and voice is light no complications and it work's perfectly@@curiositypiqued6573
Cruising through the desert and ending my journey at the beach in a 1965 mustang will forever be my dream.

Discovered this band recently and can't get enough of their music. It helps me to disconnect from reality and travel to distant places lost forever after the summer of love 1966, all from my bedroom.
The same for me!!!!!
That’s a good comment.

You're soo right. Discovered them yesterday.... and feeling very glad...too... can also get into the flow riding a bike gently downhill...passing trees and rocks ... clouds flying above ..
Nothing like being surrounded by nature listening to great music and yes riding a bike is defo my thing too...love trees too..😁
The music God's from the heaven's sent this beautiful group to earth for us to enjoy 🪷
56 years old and still loving new bands, stay perfect and don't make the mistake of becoming "pop stars"
This is a wonderful sound. These songs have such an excellent texture and feel to them. They're hypnotic in just the right way.
They are great but you should listen to Air moon child, its French band and see the similarity
This is the dreamiest most beautiful song and video I know of right now. Talk about a vibe.
She's beautiful and that voice is amazing. It's like hearing college rock during the late 80's.
Omg, totally.
These guys are so underrated!
agreed
is just their official channel that is unknown but their song is not underrated
I agree. It’s probably because their music is highly influenced by previous bands. I hear Mazzy Star, Garbage, Cowboy Junkies, The Cult, etc.
It’s because of this their sound falls into the ether. Although they are unique and I like them a lot.
Scott Wejmar, there's a female in the band. She's their lead singer, if you didn't notice, buddy.
@@chrissteinruck8681 what's your point? Are you one of those snowflakes who gets offended when people say guys even tho they mean people by saying that get a grip these guys are ok so.

Driving at sunset across the Mobile Bay Bridge, coming back from the gulf, headed to a dinner downtown with old friends. No traffic, cool breeze, mind at ease. The sky is painted in hues of pink and orange. Dark purple clouds dot the horizon.
I miss my early twenties.
I just discovered reading the comments to my favorite songs! I’ve been pretty down lately because I don’t work just stay home all day by myself because it’s just my husband and I. He is so tired from work he just comes home and wants to sleep understandably. We literally have no friends because we got sober about a year ago together and decided to cut off everybody so we could obtain this. Listening to my music and reading all the different comments has lifted me up and I really really needed it!! 😌
That shits hard. People don't realize how devastating doing what's best for you and getting clean is and how regardless of how wise saying cliché lines like 'those people weren't really your friends' must make people feel no one understands that some of those people are good people like you that ended up stuck in a cycle that doesn't discriminate based on how good a person you are, how or where you were raised etc. Those people were your only support only source of acceptance and community that we as social creature require to be even semi-functional. We leave those people to get clean and it's not like there are people lined up to fill those roles and the ones that often do knowing you are stepping out of a life and into recovery are sadly often doing it out of sympathy or to feel good about themselves or some motivator that doesn't quite feel like having someone you can trust and open up in front of and let anything out. Congratulations to you and your husband, I commend you both. And tired as he is from work make sure you remind him how important it is for you to stay connected and close and share that intimacy that made you lovers in the first place even if he's tired remind him it's not something that comes back if you neglect it and take things for granted. It's worth a red bull and a cold shower once in a while to have a night to make each other feel wanted, needed, and help keep the connection you share alive and well so you don't end up just turning into roommates that sleep in the same bed and say I love you like an obligatory reaction lol I do t even know why I wrote this I guess I know what them post sobriety social life blues feel like and I saw the one like and wanted to say good job random strangers are proud of you and your man and are routing for you both lol good luck
I'm happy to call this the 2020's aesthetic.. Great sound

There are no words to say thanks to Still Corners. They are incredible.
Mas por que? O que traz implícito? Ou você é encantada pela canção! Isso é coisa de melomaníacos.
These guys here, have caught the pulse of their time, and the video conveys this, aligned perfectly with their music. Hipster aesthetic, california at its best, digital nomads and serf, otherworldy feeling, right on spot Still Corners.
This song does something to me that not a whole lot do anymore. I don't even listen to music much anymore with sobriety and all. But Still Corners put me in a place I use to be at. Teared up thinking about it.
Try Suspended in Gaffa. Mood alteration plenty.
Jack Burton; Austana Acad??
If you ever have the chance to see them live, do it. Everything about them is amplified and the drums and especially guitar work is out of theis world.
Do they have a bass player?
Healing and hypnotic. Can't get enough.

Still Corners is an Outstanding and unique Band. I came across their really innovative and simply beautiful music quite by accident. As I listened I thought, this Band is a treasure and I was shocked that I hadn't known of them previously. Now, I'm completely captivated by their beautiful and haunting music. Does somebody want explain to me how I'm only now just hearing of them for the first time!!? I thought for sure that they would be newer but to see that they are already loved and respected and witnessed and that this song is five years old is maddening, but the timing makes its point for me personally because I've been bored of music lately and I quite enjoy being knocked off my been there seen that heard that done that know all pedestal this way
Also, I wish love and light and happiness and earthly joys to all who are here.
UA-cam is my absolute favorite when it comes to reading comments left on the oddly specific and random videos i love and listen to. At least, in my experience, UA-cam has remained mostly wholesome, or if you search for it, you'll find it and it outweighs the negative noise.
that's how I view it anyway, and it truly makes me feel so much love for humanity when I read comments on my favorite things.
I won't do it often, but when I'm having a really sad night, I do find myself on a spiral on my phone searching for comfort and I'll find myself on UA-cam and I will just read comments and it will fill me with warmth and affection and remind me that there are people out there just like me with feelings that are deep that are passionate and have remained tender hearted. And that i am not too much or too sensitive and im definitely not alone and that this world is full of beautiful compassionate souls 💞💜🥰

That's a lot of varied musical sounds from a three member band. Really great groove. This has become my go-to sound whenever I'm tripping 🤘
Nobody cares about your tripping on acid, shrooms, or etc.
Just appreciate the music on its ear value mr shares alot
@@derekmckeon4916 I'm not asking anyone to care either. I just shared an experience which takes this tune to a different level of admiration for me. What makes you assume there is no "ear value" to a tune while one is tripping, whatever one may be on? Unlike your other assumption, I'm not a junkie who's constantly listening to this when high on aforementioned psychedelics. Have you never smoked a joint on a lazy Sunday morning, having a coffee alongside... and just got into the flow of a tune? Maybe not, or you wouldn't be clenching that rectal sphincter, as you most likely were, when you read and processed my comment.
