Do you love where you are from? If you're like me then let me know where you grew up, were born, or a place you visit often! I want to see if any of us have lived in the same place or grew up in the same town without knowing even knowing it. Maybe we can make new friends because in reality I think we have more in common with one and other, it's just a matter of opening up and sharing it. Also, how are we doing on our journey to a happier, healthier lifestyle?
You guys don't know how excited I am to be home. I LOVE YOU AMSTERDAM! It's home, it's where my childhood friends are, some of my best memories from this city I will never forget! Technically I was born in Switzerland, but my parents and brother live in the North of Holland, but in my heart Amsterdam is home.
The one thing I loved about exploring Amsterdam this time was getting lost. My phone died and Max didn't have service so I realized how much I relied on my phone to get around. Has anyone ever gotten lost in their hometown? I didn't remember the streets and we ended up finding stores and places I didn't even know existed. It was a fun weekend, Pride in Amsterdam is always crazy. The canals were full of boats (we don't have floats), music was blasting, people were dressed up, and the energy was beautiful! I got to share this with my oldest friend Hilde. She's is a sister to me and we've been super close for over 15 years, love you Hil.
Family is the most important thing to me so I went to see my family in the North and my not so little, but little brother! The exciting thing is the new family members, I hope you guys notice the little cuties in the video, SO CUTE!
I hope you guys enjoyed this video. This one was a special one, a little more of me than in past videos and I'm starting to get more comfortable sharing parts of my life with you guys. Can't wait to share more from my little holiday, it's been one for the books! If you enjoyed the video please give it a BIG thumbs up. Really enjoyed seeing your beautiful country and where you grew up. Holland seems to have so many beautiful places to see, I would love to visit in person (though due to poor health will be unable to). I did, however, just finished reading a true story about a lady who lived in Haarlem during the war and she and her family hid many Jews to keep them safe during that awful time. Her name was Corrie Ten Boom. I don’t know if she is famous over there or not but reading her book (The Hiding Place) has made me wish I could visit all those lovely places she describes in her book. 🙂😊☺️ Hope you have a beautiful and blessed day!

Sanne Vloet haha, I JUST started reading Anne Frank. Many young people read it in school but I never did for some reason. Recently, while going thru my husband’s book shelves, I found a copy and decided it was time for me to finally read it once I finished The Hiding Place. 😊

Hi Sanne! How funny to hear vegetables aren’t as tasty in America as they are in Friesland. Its probably because you can get them super fresh and organic from your moms amazing garden. I am from Mexico City and have been living in Amsterdam for 4 years now, and in my personal opinion, veggies and fruits here don’t taste anything like they taste back in Mexico. I never would have thought I’d miss them so much 💔😪
I know right! Fruits and vegetables are so different everywhere. I have to say, Mexico has the best avocados!!😘
So true! Dutch veggies are awful. And no good dairy products for kids.

You are alyways soooo positive ! Love watching your vlogs. I agree that vegetables has no taste (not only in USA :D ), expecially tomatoes. My parents have also a garden with vegetables and I love it. I can eat all vegetables from there without any salt! Soooo delicious!
The vegetables are amazing in the states if you have your own garden like your mom's. I have a plot in a community garden and the tomatoes from my garden taste like those from my grandma's or the veggies I got from the market when I traveled to Istanbul to see my family. It's all about homegrown, there is nothing like it. I suspect that some of these tomatoes purchased in the store have been put in refrigerators which ruins them and tomatoes are then tasteless.
yes you are right - i live on the east coast of the US - much of the produce we have in supermarkets has traveled far - often from California or Mexico ( Mexico has great produce!) so by the time we get get it - its no longer fresh - BUT - if you shop at farmers markets and buy produce that is local and SEASONAL it can be wonderful - ( a tomato is not going to taste good in February!!!!) :)

I loved Amsterdam! I was lucky enough to go biking and camping there with my parents when I was little and we always stop there on our way through to any other country there. (My mom and brother flew there with empty suitcases for a night just for the cheese.) I really want to go back and bring my husband.

i can relate to your situation! I was born in the uk! raised everywhere since my family move every 4-5 years or so due to their work. But still Borneo will always be home from me because we go back every summer and both my parents are natives from Borneo!

Many farmers from Holland who retired and live in Bay of plenty which is famous for kiwi 🥝 orchards and Zespri company. I love farmers and their lifestyle. I am Russian, but I lived in NZ for nearly ten years and it's my second home after 🇷🇺 Russia where I am originally from. I used to work for a 🇩🇪 deli shop in NZ and we sold there loads of Dutch cheese 🧀. My favourite is Gouda Old and it's delish with heavy rye bread like Pumpernickel type of thing. I just love this for breakie in the morning with espresso. It would be nice to see all the cheeses again once you might go shopping over there in Holland. I lived in Taiwan and there was not so much cheese 🧀 over there. 😍 As always and cheers for showing us Amsterdam. I made it only to France n Belgium and met heaps of Russians there. Especially in Brügge everywhere I went I met Russians. Here on 6.56 you can hear some Russian girl is saying probably about you, 'What a 👧 girl'... I think she is talking about you because even in Holland with lots of pretty blonds you stand out à lot. Cheers big ears. Love 😍

I’m from Indonesia, maybe you know where it is because it was being colonized by the Dutch for 350 years. I grown up in Bandung which is a city that is also known as Paris Van Java because the Dutch used to think that Bandung was like the Southern part of Paris (if I’m not mistaken) due to the weather and the climate here is pretty nice. And yeah, I love my city. Eventhough the Dutch used to colonized my country but I love Dutch people because I also have Dutch friends and you guys are very open, welcoming and friendly and I think I have something in common with most Dutch people when it comes to behaviour

Friesland is such a beautiful region. I've been there last summer (also in August) and I felt in love with the nature in the surroundings. Also, I think is one of the most quiet regions in NL, so it's special for relaxing. :)

I was born n mostly grew up in Kenya 🇰🇪 until I was about 18, hated living in that country so much. Moved to Switzerland 🇨🇭 wen I was 19 for studies until I was 24. Had the best life experience while living there n truly felt like home 🏡. Once I graduated I moved to the USA 🇺🇸 since my family was living here already and I have not had the most pleasant experiences. I HATE IT HERE. still working on my health journey, need to b more strict with my expenses and explore more diet options.
