Seniors paint parking spots at Windermere High School

- Here is a video of how we painted a parking spot at Windermere High School
We got to the school about 7:30am and did not finish until almost 11:30.
Some of that time was waiting for the base to dry.
It took four of us to finish and we finish just in time because it stated to rain a little when we were leaving.
We used a paint roller handle and taped a piece of chalk at the end to be able to do the sketch, the base was not fully dry.
To paint the outline of the waves, we taped a paint brush to the same handle and it was very helpfull w/ the longer strokes.
It was great to be able to help my niece and she was very happy with how it came out :)

I didnt know this was a thing till my nephew asked me if I wanted to paint his spot recently lol, love what they did with theirs in the video!

Quedó hermoso, vaya que si tienen mucho talento para eso no cualquiera puede aunque en un tiempo entre a una escuela de arte si se me dificultó aprender en clase de pintura solo fue un pequeño aprendizaje en mi caso no se si se pudiera decir si es talento o no pero me gusta mucho cantar y seguimos ensayando virtualmente y empezaremos ya con ensayos para lo de navidad primero Dios, saludos y que Dios te bendiga grandemente a ti y a todos tus seres queridos

My local high school AGAIN highlighted this event in the local paper. So I searched YT. Seems pretty common, even in some instances raising charity funds.
We’re I in high school now, and poor [like some kids] could I paint my seat on the bus? Or the shoes that I use to walk home?

Primero hicimos lineas on una "tiza/chalk" donde queriamos las olas
usamos tape para aguantar la tiza a final de un palo,
luego pusimos un brush de una pulgada al final del mismo palo para pintar las lineas, luego mi hna pinto los "highlights" con un brush mas grueso.
creo que usamos brushes the 1", 2" y 4",
te recomiendo que practiquen en un papel con los brushes, antes de pintar en la escuela.

We used regular exterior house paint n masking tape to make the sharp edges.
I would suggest drawing a few sketches before the day
One thing that helped out was taping a small brush to a broom stick to start drawing the waves.

How did the paint hold up throughout the year? I was looking into getting gloss finish for my daughters spot.
I asked my niece and she said:
"It lasted the entire year" 👍🙂
I guess we have our priorities. Our vehicles show off our financial status-or we want them to- so why not take it one step further.
I wonder if a kid anywhere painted something like “donate to your local food bank” or some other message besides elevating himself/herself.

A child can not even express themselves & be excited about their final chapter of the high school education, without someone judging their motives or their heart.

Our vehicles not always "tell" the truth.
For example, there is people that want to drive a BMW but, get a used one and they spend abour the same amount as someone buying a new Honda Civic.
One would think that the BMW driver would have a lot more money but that is not always the case.
Or you could see someone driving a new Mercedez and it could be a lease, which means they are just "renting" their vehicle, for a couple of years.
As for what I saw the kids painting, it was just an expression of themself.
I did not see a single parking spot, where the person was "elevating themselves".
As one can see on the video, some had cartoon characters, some had something refering to the sport they are into, some had something funny
