I had a mandicular advancement jaw surgery in 2005. I told all my friends “im getting the full Kanye.” it was hell. ****trigger warning TMI body horror gore**** my teeth were banded shut but I kept throwing up blood. then I couldn’t keep down the liquid pain meds I had to syringe through a tube (because there was nothing in my stomach) and it had nowhere to go so I had to just stand over the toilet and let a mouth full of vomit slowly leak through my teeth. I kept rejecting the pain meds so I had to keep driving 2 hours for emergency injections. my face was TRIPLE the size and deformed I looked like someone tried to cook me in a microwave. I dreamed of food and lived on gatorade for nearly 3 weeks before I could graduate to smoothies. I lost 30 lbs in a month. I didn’t see my friends or my new boyfriend at the time for a month (we’re still together btw) I was so weak and miserable I fell behind in school and couldn’t work much longer than they said i’d be out. my jaw was congenitally under sized and I was born without several adult teeth. it was broken in pieces and put back together with titanium plates to increase the structure. if you don’t absolutely have to, I don’t recommend it. this poor poor man. thanks I hate it.
Mad props to the nurse who went out of her way to explain the body donation, its a traumatizing time, and a truly important decision that deserves to be fully understood.
When my mom died I felt her soul touch me. I was racing down the highway and hoping to get to her two hours away.. a little more than half way through my trip I started screaming out “no mommy don’t leave me! I love you so much! Don’t leave me, don’t leave me.” I didn’t know she was actually dead until i walked into the room and said “hey mommy.” Took me about 30 secs and I broke down crying. Come to find out her time of death was exactly when I started screaming out to her. Our soul ties were breaking and I still haven’t recovered 4 years later. I feel so bad for his mom, that type of love is the hardest to lose.
You may not heal for a long time, that's normal, I lost my mom 7 years ago by now. Although it's been hard, I definitely feel like I've processed the majority of my feelings, even though I still get sad sometimes. Don't feel bad for not moving on yet, it takes time, your mom wouldn't want you to beat yourself up. I reacted the same way, I was 15 years old at the time and I was awake at 3:00AM, I was at a relatives house when my dad (Who was also visiting.) He told me "I'm sorry *name* They couldn't save your mother." Which caught me by surprise, then he said "She's dead." I looked dumbfounded, "This isn't real right? There's no way, are you serious?!" His nod and tears confirmed it, I started yelling in denial "There's no fucking way! This has to be some fucked up joke! She's not dead, I just saw her alive! This can't be real!! Because she had been alive but hospitalized three days prior. I sobbed, I wailed, I was completely devastated, I never felt anything so painful and upsetting in my life. He took me to the hospital to confirm she was being artificially kept alive for organ donation, image still is in my mind years later. It's a hard experience. Sorry for your loss 🙏
I have similar feelings and somewhat similar experience from losing my eldest sister in Feb. My dad had to pick me up from work and we were rushing over, both me and my dad in one car as well as my mom and my niece (my eldest sisters daughter) in another car that left ahead of my dad. And we were all too late. We were just very grateful that her best friend/boyfriend was with her when we couldn't be. May we heal in kindness and love. As an anesthiologist this cctv footage triggered me. Where was the anesthiologist ???? Just to make it clear, the anesthesiologist MUST remain with the patient throughout the entire surgery and after the surgery until the patient regain consciousness. We are not allowed to leave the patient just with surgeons/nurses/assistents, an anesthiologist has the responsibility to monitor the patient's vital signs, respond immediately to compliactions and adjust anesthesia levels the WHOLE TIME (we would ensure that another anesthesiologist is in the OR if we need to go to the bathroom or have a break).
Also an anesthiologist is a doctor themselves (at least in europe) and they can take over for mundane operations in a pinch, at least better than someone bleeding out (staunching a bleeding or fixing a ruptured artery is like medical 101).
This is the same with animals as well! The anesthesiologist/ technician should never leave the patient until they are more conscious and reactive to their surroundings before ever even leaving the room or with assistants, even if there’s extra hands or eyes these are people that aren’t trained in what to do completely in certain situations and therefore an anesthesiologist should always be there as that is apart of their job as well…
Also, why was he be looking for a vein at that point? Wouldn't the patient already have an IV line they could hook up to? Or did those butchers take it out as soon as they finished cutting??
its so fascinating to me how anesthesia exist at all, afaik its quite a stress on the body, and despite how its can become dangerous i havent really heard about anything going wrong with anesthesia itself the only problem surgery left me with is weakened sense of balance, but im not sure if its bc of surgery or anesthesia

It is so true that South Koreans get plastic surgery just for their jobs. I worked at an English hagwon in SK for six years. One of my younger Korean coworkers desperately wanted to stop teaching and get a corporate job. She kept failing interviews until she got double eyelid surgery and a nose job. She literally landed the first job she applied for after the procedures healed. I was happy for her to get her dream job but sad at the same time.

Mothers intuition is extremely strong! My great-grandmother was woken up one night because it sounded like someone was knocking on her bedroom window. When she went to look, she saw her son outside. She was shocked because he was in America and she was in Poland at the time. She went to let him in but there was no one there, not even foot prints in the snow. She got a call later that he had passed away. I just got chills writing this.

She was recovering in the hospital with her husband by her side, dropping in and out of consciousness. Suddenly she sat bolt upright and screamed "DUCK, JAMES!" before passing out again. She later got a letter from her son describing how he'd been on sentry duty when he suddenly heard a woman's voice ring out telling him to duck. He did, and a bullet skimmed the top of his helmet. Mother's intuition is not only real, it can even break the laws of reality as we understand them.

I was 19, my daughter was 6montha old. My mom called me in the middle of the night asking me what was wrong with my daughter. In that very moment I had just woke up out of the blue to check on her and she wasn't in her crib. I found her crawling through the living room on the way to my room once I turned all the lights on. She was safe,,she had climbed out of her crib and was crawling through the house in the dark. The fact that me and my mom both woke up at the same time bc we knew something was wrong with my daughter is definitely proof of mother's intuition

She started walking at 9 months old . She started doing everything earlier than most. She was so small that she looked funny walking compared to the other babies. She just graduated with 4.0gpa magna cum laude with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology. She is extremely smart. I mean she is one of the smartest people I know and she's 24 now. She's a genius!

Mothers intuition is 100 per cent real! When my daughter was 8 mionths old, i suddenly woke in the middle of the night, around 3am, and KNEW something was wrong. Like a punch to the gut! I went to my daughters crib and realised she looked very different, swollen, purple.... i took her into the hallway under the light and she was limp and barely breathing... Turns out she was going into anaphylaxis due to an allergy to penicillin that she was prescribed for a chest infection. The Drs at hospital told me she would not have made it until morning if i didn't wake when i did. She was literally minutes from suffocation. The weird part is, she didnt cry, she was barely moving so its not like she disturbed me in my sleep. Mothers intuition saved my daughters life. period. Shes 18 now and loving life

Mother’s intuition is for sure a real deal! When my daughter was a couple of months old, I was still suffering from PPD and I was constantly exhausted so I would sleep like a log. One night, I woke up for absolutely no reason. Just opened my eyes as if I had just closed seconds ago. My chest had started constricting and I decided to check up on my baby. She had managed to roll over on her tummy, face down in the mattress crying. Had I not woken up when I did, she would have suffocated. Typing this still brings me to tears and since then I don’t play around when I feel something heavy!
wow that’s amazing. i believe it too. my mom told me she jolted awake when my dad and i were in a head-on car accident just for her to get the call moments later
Thank you so much for covering this story... The victim is my friend's brother and I watched how his death has affected him and his family so much, especially his mum. I think this is a great example of how tenacity of a mother for her son's justice not only gained it but also brought a positive change to how the hospitals operate. It's sad that something like this had to happen for a change to occur though...
Mother’s intuition is really strong, today makes 5 years since my eldest brother died. He got into a car accident a week before his death and was in a coma, the night he got into the accident my mother couldn’t sleep and had terrible stomach pains. My sister received the call first and when she went to wake my mother up, with one touched she woke up and was like “Which one of your siblings died” She knew one of us died that night before receiving the news.
and hug her extra long, too.. like at least, a minimum of 5mins hug.. if she tries to let go of u, u just keep hugging, just ignore her action and tell her just let u have ur 5mins hug with her and don't forget to talk to her while u hug her, like thanking her for everything, from giving birth, feed u, roof over ur head, love, lesson in life, express ur gratitude while she's still alive.. and by every minute I want u to hug her tighter and firmer and stronger.. I wish I could hug my mom too.. but she left us almost 18years now, I was still in college, rebelling against my parents, I regret I didn't get to settle our differences before she passed away.. although I was with her during her last 2 weeks in the hospital after the accident and 3 surgeries.. her 3rd surgeries sent her to coma, lasted for 3 days before she left.. even the doctors assured us that she'll survive after the 3rd surgeries.. I thought I still got time.. if I only knew, I would do what I just told u, I'll hug her and won't let her go, keep holding her hand, settle our differences, tell her I love her more, thank her for everything, express my gratitude more often and in details.. so much regrets and I hope u won't do the same mistake like I did.. I always advised all my friends about this too.. more interaction with parents coz they're lonely as they get older and I think they are too shy to express their feelings.. and it's our turn now to take care of them, feed them, tell them u love them, and if it makes u feel awkward about expressing ur love, then u should agree with my assumptions that they also shy to express it too.. so why don't we be a good son/daughter and just ignore the awkwardness.. it's better awkward but the message are delivered.. than avoid awkward and u will regret for the rest of ur life like me.. Mother intuition is sooo real. My cousin fell and broke both his knees at work and my aunt immediately felt that something had happened to him and called him, he didn’t answer but later found out what had happened. (He lived in Washington DC and she lived in Central America).

Doctor here. When we call emergency contacts for critical patients we basically have the same protocol for non-critical patients. We just call them, confirm their identity, inform them that they're the emergency contact listed for (patient's full name), and that the patient is currently in the hospital and requires their presence for papers and so and so. We will discuss the specifics of the patients' condition in person only. Though if the patient has a specific urgent need for like, blood or something… we will inform the emergency contact over the phone that if they can, to bring willing donor candidates etc. We never tell emergency contacts over the phone that their patient is perfectly fine/not fine. First off, that's not something anyone can guarantee 100% right off the bat. There's also the fact that patient confidentiality is at play and we must first visually and legally (with their ID, etc) confirm that we really are speaking to the listed emergency contact before sharing anything about the patient's status. Also, the doctors are not supposed to leave an opened patient alone in the OR without any kind of doctor. And I've never met an anaesthesiologist leave a patient before the patient fully wakes up in the Recovery Room. They're with the patient from the start of anaesthesia to closing, to transfer of the patient from operating room to recovery room. The anaesthesiologists constantly check the patient's vitals and should they step out a bit, another anaesthesiologist/anes resident should take over the monitoring. Also, should the surgery pause for any length of time, the opened parts of the patient are covered with a sterile cloth (if possible, since there are surgery sites that are too sensitive to be covered by anything) to prevent loss of fluids and as respect for the patient's dignity.
That’s good to know, and it makes sense. Like Stephanie said, people might rush to the hospital if they knew it was a big emergency and cause more accidents in the meantime. That, and you can’t verify who someone is over the phone. It might not be the actual emergency contact on the other end.

Medical worker here, just to add onto this, legally we can't actually say whether someone is fine or not because of the legality of essentially promising. You can be sued for falsely claiming or promising an outcome and even apologizing can be used against you in the court of law.
A mother's intuition works even when you are not dying or dead. It's super strong. She knows what is happening to you, sometimes before you know yourself.
8:42 Have to appreciate the love and dedication of that mom, and her computer skills! She had the instincts to know something was off, and she relentlessly tried to learn why to get justice for her son, that's truly badass.
My partner went brain dead while I was a few weeks pregnant. I had moved to nyc and I was actually back home telling my family about our lives changing. He had fallen in our driveway and we had to make the decision of taking him off of life support at 25. The organ donation conversation is not something anyone is ready to have. He saved other people’s lives, but i will never feel any less guilty about ending things sooner than giving him any chance of life. It felt pressured and intense. When all you want is a miracle.

Mother's intuition is so real and intense. I have 2 young children and i can sense whatever is going on inside them. If they shift in their sleep, I wake up. If they are about to cry, I can sense it before they start. It was especially strong with my son, who is my first: up to right about 6 months, I could physically feel, in my own bladder, when he is about to pee. It was 2020, and I was lucky to have almost no outside distractions, and tobe able to give our bond 100% attention of my attention, and I truly felt like we were one being. I remember describing it as having a conscious fantom limb.
Hearing her say basically "I had to mop up blood like 13 times" and doing absolute jack is just as ludicrous as it would be hearing someone say something casual like "yeah I stabbed them 13 times in the chest, I'm not sure why they aren't waking up from anesthesia...'
I'm an Anesthesiology resident. The surgeons usually leave the theatre after finishing the surgery but remain in the hospital until patients completely recover. If there's a complication, the surgeon will rush back to the OT. The anesthesiologist is the one who usually waits in the OT until the patients recovers from anesthesia. He/she is responsible for assessing the blood loss and replacing it if needed. They also monitor the vitals of the patient until he recovers. After recovery from anesthesia, the patient will be moved to the "recovery area" just outside the OT. There the nurses will monitor his vitals until he is ready to be moved back in to the ward. The anesthesiologist and the surgeon CANNOT go home until the patients are sent safely back to the ward where the ward doctors and nurses will take over monitoring activities. Also we never start a surgery without getting IV access first. Specially if it's a surgery done under general or spinal anesthesia

The Anesthetist is responsible not only for the drugs that "knock out" the patient and manage pain; but also for ensuring the patients vitals remain steady. They are responsible for intervening and preserving life in the event of a drug reaction, or adverse outcome. They are specially trained in resus, and intensive care. I have seen an Anesthetist pull rank on a surgeon and end a case early due to concerns over a dropping BP and O2 sats.
Mother intuition is extremely strong!! We live in Puerto Rico, after Hurricane María trees and stuff were loose, I was on my way to work and had a full on big heavy part of a tree fall on my car busting my windows and mirrors and visors flying off!! Super scary... called my mom she answered the phone scared and told me she was in the middle of prayers for her children... the way the tree fell was a final destination experience should have flew straight in my face... didn't happen thank goodness
As the daughter of a plastic surgeon and an anesthesiologist, the number one priority in every operation is the patients life and safety. Even if it's something "harmless" and "simple". If a sugery can potentially harm a patient, the docter has a right to inform the patient of the risks. And mopped the patients blood 13 TIMES ?!?! Thats just straight up malpractice in any circumstance. Ps. I'm not a docter myself (yet) so there may be some things that others may add. Oh and english isnt my first language.
Right, I’m a doctor, and I am so confused and horrified by all of this. The fact that nobody said anything when they had to mop it up makes me wonder if they were used to that happening. And multiple surgeries IN ONE ROOM without even so much as rescrubbing in is absolutely mind-boggling.

I know majority of all ppl think the same things are wrong no matter where they live but that doesn’t mean societal norms are the same. And not everyone will go against societal norms. Going against the grain is much more common in America than elsewhere. Even if it is dealing with lives.

I'm southeast asian, born, raised and still live in my native country Indonesia , I have never left my country for more than a week (and never once have I even stepped foot in America) because I'm new to highschool (turning 15 next month), what I'm stating in the comments is my opinion on things and how my parents raised me in the medical field, maybe other countries have different customs and beliefs but I'm just stating my personal opinion and how my family feel about this matter( not happy because my classmates think my family don't care about peoples lives ( I come from a mostly service associated family ( teachers, docters, military, and such), and because of this case has made my family even more hated ) . Other countries have different customs on how to deal with this and I accept that wholeheartedly. I would never want to make others think that a certain countries customs and beliefs are " better" than others. I would also like to admit that my country also has cases like this and my country isn't perfect either. I also want to study in the medical field, so learning customs from other countries can really help with my future desicions. I think this was the second story I listened to from you on Spotify when I first found you. The story of that girl bullied/killed by a group of girls in an abandoned factory was what first brought you to my attention but this story is what solidified it for me.
Story time about mother’s intuition: When I was around 7 years old, there was flem on the back of my throat so I was coughing to get out. After a few hacks I started to cough up blood. My older sister who was watching me started to panic and I let out a sheer SCREAM. My mother was a few towns away, about an hour away visiting my mémé. From what she said, she heard a little girl scream in terror and she instantly thought of me. She called my sister, turns out it was just because my throat was sore due to the surgery that removed my tonsils, and me repeatedly coughing made it completely worse. On another note: whenever a severe depressive episode kicks in, my mother always messages me, we don’t text as much as I’d like to, so mothers intuition is 100% REAL
As a mom of 2 I fully believe in mother’s intuition. After you’ve grown a human inside of you they become a part of you. It’s a connection you can’t explain or put into words, you just know when something is wrong!

Even my Grandmother who raised me would know things, like when I was dying as I gave birth my severely late stage Alzheimer's Grandmother broke out of her secured Alzheimer's patient ward to "find my baby because she's in trouble." The nickname my Grandparent's gave me was "the baby". Despite not knowing anything else she knew all the way across town I was in bleeding out after childbirth. It took 7 police officer's and a entire medical team to wrangle my Grandmother back into the facility. All the women in my family has this weird ability to just know when their child is in danger and that goes for myself. Nothing cuts that connection, no amount of hateful words, arguments, or actions you hate. Somehow we just know when something is seriously wrong or our children are in critical danger.
In hospitals, there's no sugar coating. You say it the way it is because there may be a slight chance that this is the family's only/last chance to say goodbye to their loved one. I'm RN, and that is the protocol!
It differs by hospital’s protocol and culture. In some hospitals, it is important not to directly tell the family that the patients is currently cardiac arrested and we are doing cpr. We would tell them the patient is critical and the family need to be at hospital stat.
Even though I’ve watched both of these cases by you, I still will always rewatch a good story and kind of brush up on all the info. I’m glad your feeling better and I look forward to learning about more cases
I had upper jaw surgery for my horrid underbite at 13, I can confirm, THAT SHIT IS PAINFUL. ITS EXCRUCIATING. I specifically had Orthognathic surgery, and I hated every second of that recovery. cannot imagine willingly going through that. I know it’s not the same, but still!!
I think I had a friend in school that got this done. She was gone for a summer, and when I saw her at school, I didn't even recognize her, especially because I think her underbite made her voice more nasaly, and she sounded clearer. I guess she was in hiding for recovery all that time because they broke off and moved the upper jaw forward with metal and stuff. It sounded painful. Did you feel like you had a different face afterward?
I also had surgery to correct my underbite (struggled with clicking jaws and discomfort when eating), and the surgeon had to extend my upper jaw and cut back my lower jaw. The recovery was long and quite uncomfortable. I think my face was swollen for 1.5 years. I hate my high school grad photo because it was when I was still in recovery. Chipmunk cheeks for days.

When my mom passed away from liver failure from alcohol abuse and ultimately covid in 2021, i was around 16. They really did inform us over the phone and a 3 hour drive away from the hospital that her vitals were crashing and to make it fast to figure out what to do, and to make the unfortunate decision to sign dnr papers because she was suffering for years and it was discussed beforehand because even she knew how bad the alcohol abuse was. I don’t usually comment on videos but ive never told anyone about this. Im extremely grateful we didn’t get into an accident considering this was also during the texas freeze. be mindful of your alcohol consumption guys and stay safe. 🖤
I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a 2% chance of surviving the weekend when I showed up at the ER with multiorgan failure for alcohol abuse at 25, and I was extremely fortunate to be one of those wild cases that survives to see a successful transplant when I was that far gone. I still don't feel like I deserve it, since alcoholism is such a controversial disease. On point, my fiancée was with me and they wanted to call my parents, but my fiancée (who had the legal right to make decisions on my behalf) prevented them from doing so. Thank goodness she did, because when they finally found out they were both escorted from the hospital by security for getting violent. 😂
@@Nylak-Otter my mom was 35, she was given the opportunity but refused to stop drinking due to some narcissistic tendencies she had, “im an adult i can drink when and how much i want”. So ended up losing the opportunity to someone more motivated to recovering yk. im hoping you are doing so much better now and thank you!

When I was fourteen, the cops came to our house at 3 AM and could only tell us that there had been an incident with my alcoholic dad. They wouldn't tell us what had happened or if he was hurt or still alive. Turns out he had gotten shot by the police after trying to hurt someone and crashed on the table during surgery, but we couldn't get updates. I had an unrelated cardiac arrest and I've been told that my doctors told my family that they should most likely come to say goodbye. I had already come back though so I don't think it was super urgent.

This is disgusting and it does happen in the US. In my state there was a Plastic Surgeon’s brother who was a Radiologist, and was allowed to operate on patients. Nothing much happened to the Plastic Surgeon except a fine and loss of privileges at that particular hospital and the Radiologist went to prison. I don’t remember if there were any deaths, but there were complications. It was horrifying!
My dad is a very good radiologist, although he knows anatomy, he said he wouldn’t be able to operate or do things other doctors can. He is supposed to look at pictures not the human themselves. I can’t fathom they won’t take his license away fully?!

ER nurse here. I did clinical in the OR for a semester in school here in the US. Nothing like this. It was extremely professional and sterile. I never witnessed any disrespect towards the patients. Everyone was attentive to the safety of the the patient. This is terrible!!
Doctors swear an oath to follow multiple ethical principles. Beneficence and nonmaleficence - help and do not harm the patient. Veracity - telling the truth. These principles are considered in higher regard than simply protecting your own or other doctors' reputations. No sane ER doctor would even believe a surgeon telling us that a hypotensive person is "not in critical condition." That is ludicrous and stupid. Why even downplay the patient's condition instead of telling the truth so the most aggressive level of help be given ASAP 😡

So so true. My mother and I are still very much like this with each other. It’s so crazy, but we can both literally feel when one of us is not alright. I have had moments where I have felt that my mother was sad or in pain for some reason; she has been able to do the same and we have always been very spot on with one another. We can’t stand each other at times, but my mother and I really have a bond that just transcends this world. It’s truly amazing and I feel so blessed to even have that kind of connection with her❤️🙏🏾✨

One of my colleagues sadly passed away at my previous job. The first responders tried to resuscitate him for nearly 40 minutes but they were unfortunately unsuccessful. When they called his wife to let her know they only told her that he has fainted and is not feeling too well. I remember them telling my manager it is protocol to not give this kind of bad news over the phone because it could get the family member / friend / etc in a serious accident or if they have a heart condition it could put them in a dangerous place. They would rather wait at the scene, where medical help is present if it's needed.
Med student here! I actually signed up to have my body donated to my faculty when I die. But when I did this I found out that my faculty can’t accept a body that have been in a car crash, the cause of death is unknown or if the cause of death is suspected to be foul play (they died because medical negligence, murder etc). That’s how it works at my faculty, maybe it’s different elsewhere. Also you sign up to have your body donated to a specific faculty, there’s like 10 faculties of medicine in my country, but the contract is the same in every faculty. The faculty pays for „the funeral“ even though you just get a tombstone with no body and at my faculty they also plant a tree with your name in our campus Edit: I live in the Czech Republic for clarification 🇨🇿
In mine (in addition to what you listed) they also stopped accepting bodies from people with Alzheimer's because they're scared of prion. I think it's overkill because no one is eating the brain, it's just for educational purposes 🤷♀️

I had emergency brain surgery last year which saved my life. I was out for 15 hours with the operation taking 9. It was super scary, but to this day I’m thankful to the surgeons that saved my life. I know there are many horror stories, but there are also doctors that are genuinely kind and will do anything in their power to save your life.
You know, with the amount of bad doctors I've had, I think it is only fair we talk about the good ones more! They absolutely deserve praise, especially if they have to deal with my paranoid butt on a regular basis (chronic pain and illness).
As a 911 op, I was told to call the workplace of a husband to come to the ER where his wife (deceased) had been transported. I was not to inform him of her status. My heart broke having to ask him to drive there, knowing what he was about to face. The absolute change in his life, the pain, the shock, the loss. I hurt terribly for him. In under 2 minutes, this man lost his life along with his wife. If it is a rule, it should be changed. A person should be there when they are told. You should not omit or lie to a person to achieve a different response that's more convenient to you. A person needs to be there. Period. Drive for them. Hear them. Hold them. 😢💔
Because of HIPAA. It's not about it being better for doctors at all. They are making sure the person getting the news is the right person, also, in the hospital there is netter staff in case the person collapses from the new. They can't just panickly call someone and deliver news through the phone.
I don't agree with this. It's not for the doctors benefit. It's for the benefit of themselves as well as other people in their surroundings. So many people would speed upon finding out news like this, and that could lead to so many dangerous accidents. You can't just tell them news like this despite the fact that it's not beneficial in any which way. Also to add to it like the other comment said, HIPAA exists
Actually, you can call a family member and tell them that they should come to the hospital urgently, but it also depends on state to state and hospital policy.

The powerlessness Jin's parents went through breaks my heart as a new mom. My son was born with respiratory issues and I couldn't hold him until he was 2 days old. It was heartwrenching. Hospitals usually say if your loved one was in an accident or not, and if they’re in critical condition and that It’s important for you to get there as soon as possible. They don’t like to give a lot of information on the phone. You’re right, they don’t want you to get into an accident trying to rush to the hospital, but they do let you know the severity of the situation.
So glad you are back but you definitely have every right taking time to recover without “making it up” we are happy just getting these videos when we do :)
When we get our permit license as a teenager, the DMV asks if we’d like to be an organ donor. Even though it’s been around 20 years since I got my license, I was informed (in confidence) to say NO. I remember being told that in the event of an accident, “it’s better to not waste expensive resources trying to save someone who might not make it anyway, and instead let them die to save their organs (to sell) to someone else.” This was decades ago when I learnt this and so much more. Since then, the horror stories have only gotten worse. About 4 months ago, all of the stories I’ve heard (and more) were confirmed after I watched an expose on the shady practices behind organ donations on the Last Week Tonight show on HBO. That's so interesting... My country doesn't do that, I don't think a lot of people here even sign up to be organ donors. What happens more often is when you need a donor, the norm is to find a family member who can donate that organ. Our culture kinda encourages huge families with many children.
I cannot be a organ donator because of religious reasons and you'd be surprised how many ppl take serious affront to my choice. I would never make a choice for another person so why should ppl take issue with my choice? I wish I could help someone else and other members of my family have been organ donors with my full support but I can't. Not to mention I am terminally ill with things illnesses that would render my organs unusable, however ppl still are upset I don't have organ donation as an option. I feel it should be left up to the individual and no one else.

People will be up in their business about why they are donating to X when Z is a better cause to donate in that person's opinion. You do not owe anyone your time, respect, money or body. Yet so many people want to make demands of others in this regard. People need to mind their own.
I worked at a nursing home for years.. and when someone died or was dying, we would call the family and just say we think you should come in, mom or dad isn't doing great.. and I'd always tell them, don't rush, we're all here... even when sometimes the person was actually already dead.. sucks to make that phone call none the less.. but yeah you never want someone having the stress on their mind any more than needed.. plus it's just to help keep the family together emotionally so they can safely get to us..
I'm so glad you're both back, safe, and healthy! You are my daily dose of murder i call it where i binge videos, lol The first story was chilling. I've been through several surgeries, and my last one was a double jaw surgery to fix overbite and reattach the right side of jaw back to joint. They had to break both upper and lower, pull the top back, which required sawing off to shape it right, and pull my bottom forward to align. They fixed my nose since it was deviated and filled in my chin with the graft bits they took from my jaws to shape right and straight. They had found out that when they went in, the damage was much worse (took a blow from a concussion from a grenade going off not far from me when i protected another as a shield though i had no idea about my right side damage) so lots of plates to reinforce and all. I was so worried because I take blood thinners and a lot of strong seizures, hearts, and psych meds. All of which can screw with anesthesia. I also had to warn them that my tolerance to anesthesia is high, so make sure to keep a constant eye on my condition since my pacer can only do so much. I was terrified of bleeding out, but the anesthesiologist held my hand the whole time and petted my hair. I recovered very fast, like three months or so, but I can't imagine some ghost doctor coming in to do all these plates and screws and hinges with no training. I also remember some instances where I was awake enough during my pacer surgery where I distinctly remember seeing the giant four monitor screens showing my heart and vitals and stuff and watching my cardio insert the leads. I even remember them talking procedure before he realised I was conscious since my heart started beating faster and him reprimanding my anes to turn the drugs up because it not enough to keep me asleep. The next thing I remember is waking up and asking about it, thinking it is a dream but neat to see. I felt no pain, so that was a plus. For those ever curious about your surgeries down to the T (at least here in the US) you can contact the medical records of that hospital it was done at, request those and read verbatim every second actions made, time outs for procedure checks, medication dosages and check ins, and even when a doctor leaves and the next takes over for the duratiom of absence then it's back to original surgeon one returned, etc etc. Fascinating stuff if you're ever curious to get the play by play.

I had a mandicular advancement jaw surgery in 2005. I told all my friends “im getting the full Kanye.” it was hell. ****trigger warning TMI body horror gore****
my teeth were banded shut but I kept throwing up blood. then I couldn’t keep down the liquid pain meds I had to syringe through a tube (because there was nothing in my stomach) and it had nowhere to go so I had to just stand over the toilet and let a mouth full of vomit slowly leak through my teeth.
I kept rejecting the pain meds so I had to keep driving 2 hours for emergency injections. my face was TRIPLE the size and deformed I looked like someone tried to cook me in a microwave.
I dreamed of food and lived on gatorade for nearly 3 weeks before I could graduate to smoothies. I lost 30 lbs in a month. I didn’t see my friends or my new boyfriend at the time for a month (we’re still together btw) I was so weak and miserable I fell behind in school and couldn’t work much longer than they said i’d be out.
my jaw was congenitally under sized and I was born without several adult teeth. it was broken in pieces and put back together with titanium plates to increase the structure. if you don’t absolutely have to, I don’t recommend it. this poor poor man. thanks I hate it.

When my mom died I felt her soul touch me. I was racing down the highway and hoping to get to her two hours away.. a little more than half way through my trip I started screaming out “no mommy don’t leave me! I love you so much! Don’t leave me, don’t leave me.” I didn’t know she was actually dead until i walked into the room and said “hey mommy.” Took me about 30 secs and I broke down crying. Come to find out her time of death was exactly when I started screaming out to her. Our soul ties were breaking and I still haven’t recovered 4 years later. I feel so bad for his mom, that type of love is the hardest to lose.
You may not heal for a long time, that's normal, I lost my mom 7 years ago by now. Although it's been hard, I definitely feel like I've processed the majority of my feelings, even though I still get sad sometimes. Don't feel bad for not moving on yet, it takes time, your mom wouldn't want you to beat yourself up.
I reacted the same way, I was 15 years old at the time and I was awake at 3:00AM, I was at a relatives house when my dad (Who was also visiting.) He told me "I'm sorry *name* They couldn't save your mother." Which caught me by surprise, then he said "She's dead."
I looked dumbfounded, "This isn't real right? There's no way, are you serious?!" His nod and tears confirmed it, I started yelling in denial "There's no fucking way! This has to be some fucked up joke! She's not dead, I just saw her alive! This can't be real!! Because she had been alive but hospitalized three days prior. I sobbed, I wailed, I was completely devastated, I never felt anything so painful and upsetting in my life. He took me to the hospital to confirm she was being artificially kept alive for organ donation, image still is in my mind years later. It's a hard experience.

I have similar feelings and somewhat similar experience from losing my eldest sister in Feb. My dad had to pick me up from work and we were rushing over, both me and my dad in one car as well as my mom and my niece (my eldest sisters daughter) in another car that left ahead of my dad. And we were all too late. We were just very grateful that her best friend/boyfriend was with her when we couldn't be.

As an anesthiologist this cctv footage triggered me. Where was the anesthiologist ???? Just to make it clear, the anesthesiologist MUST remain with the patient throughout the entire surgery and after the surgery until the patient regain consciousness. We are not allowed to leave the patient just with surgeons/nurses/assistents, an anesthiologist has the responsibility to monitor the patient's vital signs, respond immediately to compliactions and adjust anesthesia levels the WHOLE TIME (we would ensure that another anesthesiologist is in the OR if we need to go to the bathroom or have a break).
Also an anesthiologist is a doctor themselves (at least in europe) and they can take over for mundane operations in a pinch, at least better than someone bleeding out (staunching a bleeding or fixing a ruptured artery is like medical 101).
This is the same with animals as well! The anesthesiologist/ technician should never leave the patient until they are more conscious and reactive to their surroundings before ever even leaving the room or with assistants, even if there’s extra hands or eyes these are people that aren’t trained in what to do completely in certain situations and therefore an anesthesiologist should always be there as that is apart of their job as well…
Also, why was he be looking for a vein at that point? Wouldn't the patient already have an IV line they could hook up to? Or did those butchers take it out as soon as they finished cutting??

That's horrifying. I lost 1¼ liters of blood in January and the docs were extremely concerned in the following days making sure I was safe to go home. I'm Lowkey kinda surprised it took him 7 weeks to die

It is so true that South Koreans get plastic surgery just for their jobs. I worked at an English hagwon in SK for six years. One of my younger Korean coworkers desperately wanted to stop teaching and get a corporate job. She kept failing interviews until she got double eyelid surgery and a nose job. She literally landed the first job she applied for after the procedures healed. I was happy for her to get her dream job but sad at the same time.

Mothers intuition is extremely strong! My great-grandmother was woken up one night because it sounded like someone was knocking on her bedroom window. When she went to look, she saw her son outside. She was shocked because he was in America and she was in Poland at the time. She went to let him in but there was no one there, not even foot prints in the snow. She got a call later that he had passed away. I just got chills writing this.

There's a story of a soldier whose mother underwent a mastectomy while he was fighting (WW2 I think). She was recovering in the hospital with her husband by her side, dropping in and out of consciousness. Suddenly she sat bolt upright and screamed "DUCK, JAMES!" before passing out again. She later got a letter from her son describing how he'd been on sentry duty when he suddenly heard a woman's voice ring out telling him to duck. He did, and a bullet skimmed the top of his helmet.

I was 19, my daughter was 6montha old. My mom called me in the middle of the night asking me what was wrong with my daughter. In that very moment I had just woke up out of the blue to check on her and she wasn't in her crib. I found her crawling through the living room on the way to my room once I turned all the lights on. She was safe,,she had climbed out of her crib and was crawling through the house in the dark. The fact that me and my mom both woke up at the same time bc we knew something was wrong with my daughter is definitely proof of mother's intuition

What an incredible story!
She started walking at 9 months old . She started doing everything earlier than most. She was so small that she looked funny walking compared to the other babies. She just graduated with 4.0gpa magna cum laude with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology. She is extremely smart. I mean she is one of the smartest people I know and she's 24 now. She's a genius!

When my daughter was 8 mionths old, i suddenly woke in the middle of the night, around 3am, and KNEW something was wrong. Like a punch to the gut!
I went to my daughters crib and realised she looked very different, swollen, purple....
i took her into the hallway under the light and she was limp and barely breathing...
Turns out she was going into anaphylaxis due to an allergy to penicillin that she was prescribed for a chest infection.
The Drs at hospital told me she would not have made it until morning if i didn't wake when i did.
She was literally minutes from suffocation.
The weird part is, she didnt cry, she was barely moving so its not like she disturbed me in my sleep.
Mothers intuition saved my daughters life. period.

Mother’s intuition is for sure a real deal! When my daughter was a couple of months old, I was still suffering from PPD and I was constantly exhausted so I would sleep like a log. One night, I woke up for absolutely no reason. Just opened my eyes as if I had just closed seconds ago. My chest had started constricting and I decided to check up on my baby. She had managed to roll over on her tummy, face down in the mattress crying. Had I not woken up when I did, she would have suffocated. Typing this still brings me to tears and since then I don’t play around when I feel something heavy!

Thank you so much for covering this story... The victim is my friend's brother and I watched how his death has affected him and his family so much, especially his mum. I think this is a great example of how tenacity of a mother for her son's justice not only gained it but also brought a positive change to how the hospitals operate. It's sad that something like this had to happen for a change to occur though...
Mother’s intuition is really strong, today makes 5 years since my eldest brother died. He got into a car accident a week before his death and was in a coma, the night he got into the accident my mother couldn’t sleep and had terrible stomach pains. My sister received the call first and when she went to wake my mother up, with one touched she woke up and was like “Which one of your siblings died”
She knew one of us died that night before receiving the news.

I wish I could hug my mom too.. but she left us almost 18years now, I was still in college, rebelling against my parents, I regret I didn't get to settle our differences before she passed away.. although I was with her during her last 2 weeks in the hospital after the accident and 3 surgeries.. her 3rd surgeries sent her to coma, lasted for 3 days before she left.. even the doctors assured us that she'll survive after the 3rd surgeries.. I thought I still got time.. if I only knew, I would do what I just told u, I'll hug her and won't let her go, keep holding her hand, settle our differences, tell her I love her more, thank her for everything, express my gratitude more often and in details.. so much regrets and I hope u won't do the same mistake like I did.. I always advised all my friends about this too.. more interaction with parents coz they're lonely as they get older and I think they are too shy to express their feelings.. and it's our turn now to take care of them, feed them, tell them u love them, and if it makes u feel awkward about expressing ur love, then u should agree with my assumptions that they also shy to express it too.. so why don't we be a good son/daughter and just ignore the awkwardness.. it's better awkward but the message are delivered.. than avoid awkward and u will regret for the rest of ur life like me.. I know you'll do the right thing.. have a great day!!!

Mother intuition is sooo real. My cousin fell and broke both his knees at work and my aunt immediately felt that something had happened to him and called him, he didn’t answer but later found out what had happened. (He lived in Washington DC and she lived in Central America).

When we call emergency contacts for critical patients we basically have the same protocol for non-critical patients. We just call them, confirm their identity, inform them that they're the emergency contact listed for (patient's full name), and that the patient is currently in the hospital and requires their presence for papers and so and so. We will discuss the specifics of the patients' condition in person only. Though if the patient has a specific urgent need for like, blood or something… we will inform the emergency contact over the phone that if they can, to bring willing donor candidates etc.
We never tell emergency contacts over the phone that their patient is perfectly fine/not fine. First off, that's not something anyone can guarantee 100% right off the bat. There's also the fact that patient confidentiality is at play and we must first visually and legally (with their ID, etc) confirm that we really are speaking to the listed emergency contact before sharing anything about the patient's status.
Also, the doctors are not supposed to leave an opened patient alone in the OR without any kind of doctor. And I've never met an anaesthesiologist leave a patient before the patient fully wakes up in the Recovery Room. They're with the patient from the start of anaesthesia to closing, to transfer of the patient from operating room to recovery room. The anaesthesiologists constantly check the patient's vitals and should they step out a bit, another anaesthesiologist/anes resident should take over the monitoring.
Also, should the surgery pause for any length of time, the opened parts of the patient are covered with a sterile cloth (if possible, since there are surgery sites that are too sensitive to be covered by anything) to prevent loss of fluids and as respect for the patient's dignity.
That’s good to know, and it makes sense. Like Stephanie said, people might rush to the hospital if they knew it was a big emergency and cause more accidents in the meantime. That, and you can’t verify who someone is over the phone. It might not be the actual emergency contact on the other end.

Medical worker here, just to add onto this, legally we can't actually say whether someone is fine or not because of the legality of essentially promising. You can be sued for falsely claiming or promising an outcome and even apologizing can be used against you in the court of law.

My partner went brain dead while I was a few weeks pregnant. I had moved to nyc and I was actually back home telling my family about our lives changing. He had fallen in our driveway and we had to make the decision of taking him off of life support at 25. The organ donation conversation is not something anyone is ready to have. He saved other people’s lives, but i will never feel any less guilty about ending things sooner than giving him any chance of life. It felt pressured and intense. When all you want is a miracle.

Mother's intuition is so real and intense. I have 2 young children and i can sense whatever is going on inside them. If they shift in their sleep, I wake up. If they are about to cry, I can sense it before they start. It was especially strong with my son, who is my first: up to right about 6 months, I could physically feel, in my own bladder, when he is about to pee. It was 2020, and I was lucky to have almost no outside distractions, and tobe able to give our bond 100% attention of my attention, and I truly felt like we were one being. I remember describing it as having a conscious fantom limb.
Hearing her say basically "I had to mop up blood like 13 times" and doing absolute jack is just as ludicrous as it would be hearing someone say something casual like "yeah I stabbed them 13 times in the chest, I'm not sure why they aren't waking up from anesthesia...'

I'm an Anesthesiology resident.
The surgeons usually leave the theatre after finishing the surgery but remain in the hospital until patients completely recover. If there's a complication, the surgeon will rush back to the OT. The anesthesiologist is the one who usually waits in the OT until the patients recovers from anesthesia. He/she is responsible for assessing the blood loss and replacing it if needed. They also monitor the vitals of the patient until he recovers. After recovery from anesthesia, the patient will be moved to the "recovery area" just outside the OT. There the nurses will monitor his vitals until he is ready to be moved back in to the ward. The anesthesiologist and the surgeon CANNOT go home until the patients are sent safely back to the ward where the ward doctors and nurses will take over monitoring activities.
Also we never start a surgery without getting IV access first. Specially if it's a surgery done under general or spinal anesthesia

The Anesthetist is responsible not only for the drugs that "knock out" the patient and manage pain; but also for ensuring the patients vitals remain steady. They are responsible for intervening and preserving life in the event of a drug reaction, or adverse outcome. They are specially trained in resus, and intensive care. I have seen an Anesthetist pull rank on a surgeon and end a case early due to concerns over a dropping BP and O2 sats.

We live in Puerto Rico, after Hurricane María trees and stuff were loose, I was on my way to work and had a full on big heavy part of a tree fall on my car busting my windows and mirrors and visors flying off!! Super scary... called my mom she answered the phone scared and told me she was in the middle of prayers for her children... the way the tree fell was a final destination experience should have flew straight in my face... didn't happen thank goodness
As the daughter of a plastic surgeon and an anesthesiologist, the number one priority in every operation is the patients life and safety. Even if it's something "harmless" and "simple". If a sugery can potentially harm a patient, the docter has a right to inform the patient of the risks. And mopped the patients blood 13 TIMES ?!?! Thats just straight up malpractice in any circumstance.

Right, I’m a doctor, and I am so confused and horrified by all of this. The fact that nobody said anything when they had to mop it up makes me wonder if they were used to that happening. And multiple surgeries IN ONE ROOM without even so much as rescrubbing in is absolutely mind-boggling.
Long story short, I cannot imagine how many patients were suffering from blood loss, injuries and infections before this mom spoke up.

I know majority of all ppl think the same things are wrong no matter where they live but that doesn’t mean societal norms are the same. And not everyone will go against societal norms. Going against the grain is much more common in America than elsewhere. Even if it is dealing with lives.

I'm southeast asian, born, raised and still live in my native country Indonesia , I have never left my country for more than a week (and never once have I even stepped foot in America) because I'm new to highschool (turning 15 next month), what I'm stating in the comments is my opinion on things and how my parents raised me in the medical field, maybe other countries have different customs and beliefs but I'm just stating my personal opinion and how my family feel about this matter( not happy because my classmates think my family don't care about peoples lives ( I come from a mostly service associated family ( teachers, docters, military, and such), and because of this case has made my family even more hated ) . Other countries have different customs on how to deal with this and I accept that wholeheartedly. I would never want to make others think that a certain countries customs and beliefs are " better" than others. I would also like to admit that my country also has cases like this and my country isn't perfect either.
I also want to study in the medical field, so learning customs from other countries can really help with my future desicions.

Story time about mother’s intuition:
When I was around 7 years old, there was flem on the back of my throat so I was coughing to get out. After a few hacks I started to cough up blood. My older sister who was watching me started to panic and I let out a sheer SCREAM. My mother was a few towns away, about an hour away visiting my mémé. From what she said, she heard a little girl scream in terror and she instantly thought of me. She called my sister, turns out it was just because my throat was sore due to the surgery that removed my tonsils, and me repeatedly coughing made it completely worse.
On another note: whenever a severe depressive episode kicks in, my mother always messages me, we don’t text as much as I’d like to, so mothers intuition is 100% REAL

Even my Grandmother who raised me would know things, like when I was dying as I gave birth my severely late stage Alzheimer's Grandmother broke out of her secured Alzheimer's patient ward to "find my baby because she's in trouble." The nickname my Grandparent's gave me was "the baby". Despite not knowing anything else she knew all the way across town I was in bleeding out after childbirth.
It took 7 police officer's and a entire medical team to wrangle my Grandmother back into the facility.
All the women in my family has this weird ability to just know when their child is in danger and that goes for myself. Nothing cuts that connection, no amount of hateful words, arguments, or actions you hate. Somehow we just know when something is seriously wrong or our children are in critical danger.
Why dont i feel that connection with my 2 year old ? 😢
In hospitals, there's no sugar coating. You say it the way it is because there may be a slight chance that this is the family's only/last chance to say goodbye to their loved one. I'm RN, and that is the protocol!
Interesting. Other medical professionals are saying they don’t tell them anything. Must differ by place.
It differs by hospital’s protocol and culture. In some hospitals, it is important not to directly tell the family that the patients is currently cardiac arrested and we are doing cpr. We would tell them the patient is critical and the family need to be at hospital stat.
Even though I’ve watched both of these cases by you, I still will always rewatch a good story and kind of brush up on all the info. I’m glad your feeling better and I look forward to learning about more cases

I had upper jaw surgery for my horrid underbite at 13, I can confirm, THAT SHIT IS PAINFUL. ITS EXCRUCIATING. I specifically had Orthognathic surgery, and I hated every second of that recovery. cannot imagine willingly going through that. I know it’s not the same, but still!!
I think I had a friend in school that got this done. She was gone for a summer, and when I saw her at school, I didn't even recognize her, especially because I think her underbite made her voice more nasaly, and she sounded clearer. I guess she was in hiding for recovery all that time because they broke off and moved the upper jaw forward with metal and stuff. It sounded painful.

I also had surgery to correct my underbite (struggled with clicking jaws and discomfort when eating), and the surgeon had to extend my upper jaw and cut back my lower jaw. The recovery was long and quite uncomfortable. I think my face was swollen for 1.5 years. I hate my high school grad photo because it was when I was still in recovery. Chipmunk cheeks for days.

Holy crap. I used to be a surgical nurse and the first story about the ghost doctors makes my skin crawl. Absolutely horrifying.
When my mom passed away from liver failure from alcohol abuse and ultimately covid in 2021, i was around 16. They really did inform us over the phone and a 3 hour drive away from the hospital that her vitals were crashing and to make it fast to figure out what to do, and to make the unfortunate decision to sign dnr papers because she was suffering for years and it was discussed beforehand because even she knew how bad the alcohol abuse was. I don’t usually comment on videos but ive never told anyone about this. Im extremely grateful we didn’t get into an accident considering this was also during the texas freeze.

I had a 2% chance of surviving the weekend when I showed up at the ER with multiorgan failure for alcohol abuse at 25, and I was extremely fortunate to be one of those wild cases that survives to see a successful transplant when I was that far gone. I still don't feel like I deserve it, since alcoholism is such a controversial disease.
On point, my fiancée was with me and they wanted to call my parents, but my fiancée (who had the legal right to make decisions on my behalf) prevented them from doing so. Thank goodness she did, because when they finally found out they were both escorted from the hospital by security for getting violent. 😂

@@Nylak-Otter my mom was 35, she was given the opportunity but refused to stop drinking due to some narcissistic tendencies she had, “im an adult i can drink when and how much i want”. So ended up losing the opportunity to someone more motivated to recovering yk.

When I was fourteen, the cops came to our house at 3 AM and could only tell us that there had been an incident with my alcoholic dad. They wouldn't tell us what had happened or if he was hurt or still alive.
Turns out he had gotten shot by the police after trying to hurt someone and crashed on the table during surgery, but we couldn't get updates.
I had an unrelated cardiac arrest and I've been told that my doctors told my family that they should most likely come to say goodbye. I had already come back though so I don't think it was super urgent.

This is disgusting and it does happen in the US. In my state there was a Plastic Surgeon’s brother who was a Radiologist, and was allowed to operate on patients. Nothing much happened to the Plastic Surgeon except a fine and loss of privileges at that particular hospital and the Radiologist went to prison. I don’t remember if there were any deaths, but there were complications. It was horrifying!

ER nurse here. I did clinical in the OR for a semester in school here in the US. Nothing like this. It was extremely professional and sterile. I never witnessed any disrespect towards the patients. Everyone was attentive to the safety of the the patient. This is terrible!!
Same for my paramedic. Although we did turn on music and each doctors tastes never matched how they looked and I thought it was so amusing.
Doctors swear an oath to follow multiple ethical principles. Beneficence and nonmaleficence - help and do not harm the patient. Veracity - telling the truth. These principles are considered in higher regard than simply protecting your own or other doctors' reputations. No sane ER doctor would even believe a surgeon telling us that a hypotensive person is "not in critical condition." That is ludicrous and stupid. Why even downplay the patient's condition instead of telling the truth so the most aggressive level of help be given ASAP 😡
Hhmm, I gotta read the whole Hippocratic oath... I'm just curious now... Do they all say it before graduation? Like, before getting their doctorate? And do all doctors have to take it? Do nurses also take it? Do caregivers also take it?
Well, that oath went out the window when covid hit! Many Dr's lost their jobs if they talked about the vaxes. Lost their jobs if they didn't take the jab.

As a mother, our child is our heart walking around outside of our body. They are literally part of us. They only have to feel something for us to pick up on it if you have a strong connection with your kids. It’s magical. Ever reaching.
So so true. My mother and I are still very much like this with each other. It’s so crazy, but we can both literally feel when one of us is not alright. I have had moments where I have felt that my mother was sad or in pain for some reason; she has been able to do the same and we have always been very spot on with one another. We can’t stand each other at times, but my mother and I really have a bond that just transcends this world. It’s truly amazing and I feel so blessed to even have that kind of connection with her❤️🙏🏾✨

Having my own two littles now, really made it click the connection you have with your kids and how your mother is someone that will feel that pain or happiness with you and for you like no other! 💕

One of my colleagues sadly passed away at my previous job. The first responders tried to resuscitate him for nearly 40 minutes but they were unfortunately unsuccessful. When they called his wife to let her know they only told her that he has fainted and is not feeling too well. I remember them telling my manager it is protocol to not give this kind of bad news over the phone because it could get the family member / friend / etc in a serious accident or if they have a heart condition it could put them in a dangerous place. They would rather wait at the scene, where medical help is present if it's needed.
Med student here! I actually signed up to have my body donated to my faculty when I die. But when I did this I found out that my faculty can’t accept a body that have been in a car crash, the cause of death is unknown or if the cause of death is suspected to be foul play (they died because medical negligence, murder etc). That’s how it works at my faculty, maybe it’s different elsewhere. Also you sign up to have your body donated to a specific faculty, there’s like 10 faculties of medicine in my country, but the contract is the same in every faculty. The faculty pays for „the funeral“ even though you just get a tombstone with no body and at my faculty they also plant a tree with your name in our campus

In mine (in addition to what you listed) they also stopped accepting bodies from people with Alzheimer's because they're scared of prion. I think it's overkill because no one is eating the brain, it's just for educational purposes 🤷♀️

There are several videos on YT & Google about the body donation industry & how horrible it is! I was an organ donor for years until I found out about the disturbing facts behind it! I’d highly suggest you do some research for yourself & look further into it before becoming a donor!

AD or Alzheimer’s disease, is not a contraindication to deceased organ donation per se; however, the coexistent atherosclerotic pathology of the brain that may result in the death of a patient with AD may also affect abdominal organ function and suitability for transplantation.

I had emergency brain surgery last year which saved my life. I was out for 15 hours with the operation taking 9. It was super scary, but to this day I’m thankful to the surgeons that saved my life. I know there are many horror stories, but there are also doctors that are genuinely kind and will do anything in their power to save your life.
You know, with the amount of bad doctors I've had, I think it is only fair we talk about the good ones more! They absolutely deserve praise, especially if they have to deal with my paranoid butt on a regular basis (chronic pain and illness).

As a 911 op, I was told to call the workplace of a husband to come to the ER where his wife (deceased) had been transported. I was not to inform him of her status. My heart broke having to ask him to drive there, knowing what he was about to face. The absolute change in his life, the pain, the shock, the loss. I hurt terribly for him. In under 2 minutes, this man lost his life along with his wife.
If it is a rule, it should be changed. A person should be there when they are told. You should not omit or lie to a person to achieve a different response that's more convenient to you. A person needs to be there. Period. Drive for them. Hear them. Hold them. 😢💔
Because of HIPAA. It's not about it being better for doctors at all. They are making sure the person getting the news is the right person, also, in the hospital there is netter staff in case the person collapses from the new. They can't just panickly call someone and deliver news through the phone.
I don't agree with this. It's not for the doctors benefit. It's for the benefit of themselves as well as other people in their surroundings. So many people would speed upon finding out news like this, and that could lead to so many dangerous accidents. You can't just tell them news like this despite the fact that it's not beneficial in any which way.

Actually, you can call a family member and tell them that they should come to the hospital urgently, but it also depends on state to state and hospital policy.
You don't have to lie, you can just state you can't give anymore information and the doctors at the hospital will talk to them.

It's the one where the mortician told the relative (or i think the gf? of the victim) to not look into the case anymore because it's dangerous and someone is trying to hide evidence. Autopsy report was different from what the mortician initially said happened
The powerlessness Jin's parents went through breaks my heart as a new mom. My son was born with respiratory issues and I couldn't hold him until he was 2 days old. It was heartwrenching. I couldn't understand what that powerlessness felt like until then. This story was devastating. Feel better soon girly ❤

Hospitals usually say if your loved one was in an accident or not, and if they’re in critical condition and that It’s important for you to get there as soon as possible. They don’t like to give a lot of information on the phone. You’re right, they don’t want you to get into an accident trying to rush to the hospital, but they do let you know the severity of the situation.
So glad you are back but you definitely have every right taking time to recover without “making it up” we are happy just getting these videos when we do :)

When we get our permit license as a teenager, the DMV asks if we’d like to be an organ donor. Even though it’s been around 20 years since I got my license, I was informed (in confidence) to say NO.
I remember being told that in the event of an accident, “it’s better to not waste expensive resources trying to save someone who might not make it anyway, and instead let them die to save their organs (to sell) to someone else.” This was decades ago when I learnt this and so much more.
Since then, the horror stories have only gotten worse.
About 4 months ago, all of the stories I’ve heard (and more) were confirmed after I watched an expose on the shady practices behind organ donations on the Last Week Tonight show on HBO.

That's so interesting... My country doesn't do that, I don't think a lot of people here even sign up to be organ donors. What happens more often is when you need a donor, the norm is to find a family member who can donate that organ. Our culture kinda encourages huge families with many children.

I cannot be a organ donator because of religious reasons and you'd be surprised how many ppl take serious affront to my choice.
I would never make a choice for another person so why should ppl take issue with my choice?
I wish I could help someone else and other members of my family have been organ donors with my full support but I can't. Not to mention I am terminally ill with things illnesses that would render my organs unusable, however ppl still are upset I don't have organ donation as an option.
I feel it should be left up to the individual and no one else.
@@kitsunelee007 The real reason for people being like that is just like when people don't donate to a specific charity or don't donate period. People will be up in their business about why they are donating to X when Z is a better cause to donate in that person's opinion.
You do not owe anyone your time, respect, money or body. Yet so many people want to make demands of others in this regard. People need to mind their own.

I worked at a nursing home for years.. and when someone died or was dying, we would call the family and just say we think you should come in, mom or dad isn't doing great.. and I'd always tell them, don't rush, we're all here... even when sometimes the person was actually already dead.. sucks to make that phone call none the less.. but yeah you never want someone having the stress on their mind any more than needed.. plus it's just to help keep the family together emotionally so they can safely get to us..

The first story was chilling. I've been through several surgeries, and my last one was a double jaw surgery to fix overbite and reattach the right side of jaw back to joint. They had to break both upper and lower, pull the top back, which required sawing off to shape it right, and pull my bottom forward to align.
They fixed my nose since it was deviated and filled in my chin with the graft bits they took from my jaws to shape right and straight. They had found out that when they went in, the damage was much worse (took a blow from a concussion from a grenade going off not far from me when i protected another as a shield though i had no idea about my right side damage) so lots of plates to reinforce and all.
I was so worried because I take blood thinners and a lot of strong seizures, hearts, and psych meds. All of which can screw with anesthesia. I also had to warn them that my tolerance to anesthesia is high, so make sure to keep a constant eye on my condition since my pacer can only do so much. I was terrified of bleeding out, but the anesthesiologist held my hand the whole time and petted my hair. I recovered very fast, like three months or so, but I can't imagine some ghost doctor coming in to do all these plates and screws and hinges with no training.
I also remember some instances where I was awake enough during my pacer surgery where I distinctly remember seeing the giant four monitor screens showing my heart and vitals and stuff and watching my cardio insert the leads. I even remember them talking procedure before he realised I was conscious since my heart started beating faster and him reprimanding my anes to turn the drugs up because it not enough to keep me asleep. The next thing I remember is waking up and asking about it, thinking it is a dream but neat to see. I felt no pain, so that was a plus.
For those ever curious about your surgeries down to the T (at least here in the US) you can contact the medical records of that hospital it was done at, request those and read verbatim every second actions made, time outs for procedure checks, medication dosages and check ins, and even when a doctor leaves and the next takes over for the duratiom of absence then it's back to original surgeon one returned, etc etc. Fascinating stuff if you're ever curious to get the play by play.
