How to Play and install Metroid 2 remake [AM2R] in 2024 (tutorial)

I wanted to play Metroid 2 in a modern type of setting with modern controls there were no official option for this but luckily some smart people from 2016 had me covered!

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH. My external HD crapped out and lost all my emulators. This along with it and its too expensive for data recovery. I had the original AM2R files when it first released. I can play this again. Thanks again!

Excuse me i followed your directions exactly. I got it working twice with the launcher but now when i use the launcher it won't run. What's wrong?

Have never heard of this issue my suggestion would be to copy your save file, then reinstall. The save files can be found in user/app data/local/am2r.

You could try winlator it is a wine os Linux that runs windows files on phones. I never got winlator to work on my phone good luck.

I do not think so because dev was stopped by Nintendo legal team, this is why you have to use this roundabout method for an updated version of the game.
