After learning Moomintroll is safe but heading to Hattifatteners’ Island, Snufkin remembers Moominpapa’s boat near the beach and sets off to find it On the way, he meets Sniff, who pleads for help finding his friend Cedric, trapped in a cave guarded by crab-like creatures. Thinking Cedric is a person, Snufkin agrees to help. At the cave’s end, they find Cedric-a toy animal-and an exit leading straight to the beach where Moominpapa’s boat lies waiting.
