Damn straight..played it in highschool and never got tired of that scene. Made me shed a tear going back and watching it on my old psp with my old save data i had years ago. 1:24 I have a feeling those Armlets belong to the others we know in the past games. Soma being Half-Aragami ( with a reputation of being a Shinigami ) makes sense why he's the only surviving 1st Generation God Eater. Maybe it also slowed down his aging, hence, why he still looks young.
That's probably from the HQ guys. The Far East Branch isn't the Fenrir HQ , despite being the focal point of GE1 and 2. Soma went because HQ went dark and nobody could contact them.

I just got this game for the Nintendo Switch two day ago and I immediately fell in love with the intro when I first saw it. Now I watch it every single time Info into the game instead of skipping it.
After playing the full god eater series recently, i really hope the anime gets a new season and actually continues all the way up to god eater 3. If anything, i would also enjoy just getting an anime for god eater 2 + rage burst, and god eater 3
I love the God Eater saga, but I have an especially good felling with this one. Guess will change with the story, but I like the renegade air of the team. The opening is awesome and I can't wait to february!!!
If they give him more things than what I experienced in the limited demo then yeah, I'd say he'll be pretty fucking intimidating specially when he goes into devour mode, shit always scared the fuck outa me when I'm not prepared.
The more you fight him the more he just seems like a huge puppy. But i guess its just getting more accustomed to his pattern of attack and his devours. Now.. Ash Storm Anubis is a different story

I gotta say, using the dual god arcs as handcuffs is brilliant, story-wise. Tells you that the AGEs are stronger than your average God Eater, but that they really are just treated as attack dogs, only being”let off their leashes” in order to fight the Aragami. Honesty, I wouldn’t have minded an entire game set in the “prison,” only escaping near the end. Would’ve been interesting.

I've started playing the third game recently. Only seeing Soma on the opening really makes me anxious. Where's the Blood Unit? The rest of Cradle? PLEASE TELL ME CAPPY IS OKAY.
Tbh people will comeback to this no matter how long it takes. This is just a incomparable game which is dormant in every people who liked this game and they're going to want it no matter what. People actually going to wish this game would continue because of how gorgeous the idea of the game and its gameplay. I've been playing both PC and Mobile games and I've played almost 89% all of the games and the games that still coming out including genshin and Open-world games. Well, from the looks of the opening alone, the world has gone to shit, Augmented God Eaters (AGE) are used as new frontline soldiers against these new Aragami but are treated like monsters and property, the Far East Branch is gone along with Blood Unit and the 1st Unit, and Soma seems to be the only one present... so far. Makes me wonder... just what the hell happened that caused all of this? It's like looking at the prelude for the next Devouring Apocalypse! Well, whatever the case, it'll be great to be playing as a new God Eater even if I am gonna end up in cuffs.
0:25 Lulu's section is my favorite part of the OP. Lulu was raised as an little girl on an Ash Walker (large mobile bases) that treated its God Eaters as disposable child soldiers/mindless drones. No humanity. And after she's wounded attacking you, her Walker just abandons her, no second thoughts. Closest thing to family immediately discards her. Pretty tragic. From there she becomes a party member and has a little story arch about realizing she's a person and more than just a weapon.
I can honestly say I love how the new heroes are treated. Locked up like animals. I hope it hints at great powers and abilities. Love the new weapons(Dual blades, glaive and ray gun.) Id love more aragami like abilities. (CY bomb orb or Polar Quadrigas AOE. Something to show us as more aragami then human. Horns, scales etc customization options.
The future of other characters from GE 1 or 2 alive is grim with this op and the tone of a very grim atmosphere in this game. If I'm right I'm gonna be so sad and happy at the same time
