She seems as vacuous as her "art": portraits of B-grade celebrities Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson? Seriously? Also, she doesn't have a tortured past: she's middle class from the suburbs. That's very mundane rebellious behaviour for teenagers Wonder if she will cringe at this interview when she gets older
Having spent quite some time with Danielle throughout the process of recording this film we can confidently say she is not vacuous. There were certain aspects to her life and story she wanted to keep private, but regardless of her socio-economic background she did have to overcome many obstacles - it was these obstacles which led her to becoming a rebellious teenager. We don't think she will cringe at this in the future with the success she has gained. Furthermore, Dwayne Johnson is one of the most well-known people in the world. Anyone would be fortunate to garner the attention of and meet a public figure in his position. Thank you for your comment though, we hope you can relate more to future content.
Isn't it kind of your job as the filmmaker to show her depth (what there is of it) and her upbringing if it is relevant (which she likes to claim it is)? I'm sure plenty of people have met and been encouraged by celebrities; its kind of their job. Was he going to tell her she was garbage? Is Dwayne "the rock" Johnson a known connoisseur of modern art? What relevance is his opinion then? Pretty odd choice of subject but some decent editing and camerawork
There were certain aspects of her life Danielle didn't want to be conveyed to the public. You are right that as film makers it is our duty to show her depth though, and we will look at ways of improving this in future films. Thanks for your comment and feedback. In relation to Dwayne Johnson, it was her attitude and perspective he was most impressed with, as covered in the video.
